Dennis : I made a adaptation of sci fi desert movie Nolan : I loved that bro I'll do old genre and sea movie (2026 Odyssey)
I love Chris's humor.
12:24 this TS Elliot mention had me cracking
🔥fire🔥
"It becomes the reality" What a Chris Nolan thing to say 29:40
Dune became such a masterpiece because Denis had full creative control. Very few directors get to do that anymore. Nolan and Villeneuve are two of a very few select filmmakers who will hopefully bring us out of the formulaic, second-screen, algorithmic movie epidemic.
And Robert Eggers!

_“We understood that Frank Herbert was disappointed by the way the readers perceived the first novel... He wanted to do a cautionary tale about messianic figures. In order to make sure that his ideas were clear, he wrote a second book…”_ This is a recent false narrative Denis Villeneuve keeps repeating in interviews and I’m tired of hearing it. Nerd Cookies uploaded a video that discussed Villeneuve’s mischaracterizaton of Frank Herbert’s intentions: m.ruclips.net/video/zAvkmSslvQ0/видео.html&pp=ygUSbXl0aCBkdW5lIG1lc3NpYWgg Herbert had parts of Dune Messiah and Children Of Dune written BEFORE the first novel was even finished. Herbert had Paul’s trajectory already in place. He WANTED readers to fall under Paul’s spell and view him as a heroic leader in the first novel, just as the Fremen did in his fictional story. The real-life reader reaction mirrored the Fremen reaction, as Herbert intended. Then, in Dune Messiah, Herbert showed readers why this was a mistake, how following charismatic leaders often ends up in disaster. He once said, “I am showing you the superhero syndrome and your own participation in it.” Needless to say, the future repercussions for the Fremen are ultimately negative and it would be the same result in real world politics. Mr. Villeneuve, you are distorting Herbert’s legacy, portraying him as a not entirely competent storyteller in order to magnify the importance of your adaptation.
I feel like Chris is taking notes from this in his creation of The Oddessy cause that is pure world building fantasy
Missing Hans Zimmer here
Oh how I wish we got Jon's TRUE version of Prometheus without Damon Lindelof's nonsense. Thanks for the uploads!
It's already rare for one genuis filmmaker to come from a family and Nolan family has 2 of them
What a waste of time for Christopher sorry sir Christopher Nolan 😭.
This was hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣 love them all so fucking much!
20 minutes in. Is she gonna ask him anything or just talk about things he doesn't use?
You're whining while he seems far more comfortable and jolly here than most interviews
@ I will agree his Oppenheimer run of interviews has been a lot more fun… especially the ones with RDJ. But these questions are just ridiculous. And she asked the best question in the last minute! Even he pointed it out.
he co-wrote interstellar, the dark knight
More importantly he’s responsible for coming up with the idea for Memento.
This interviewer was sooo bad, you can sense the uncomfortability among everyone. They had to make a phd breakdown of his sentences to understand what hes asking..
Dune is very Nolanesque yet very Denisesque...u feel me
Inception and Interstellar are such masterpieces and also Dune part 1 and 2, also from Villeneuve, Incendies and Polytechnique.
Nolan is turning into the Bro we need right now!
That January 6th joke xD Nolan has to make a comedy someday!
Was not expecting that lmfao
It's a very British humour kind of joke
timestamp?
Fallout looked cool but it struggled bad with plot and structure and dialogue. Plus, it did the DEI thing of the bad ass black woman antag, the clueless side character black guy, the lead woman fem boss, and as many side characters as they could get not white people. Disgusting.
i love how they have to introduce dennis as director, writer and producer while nolan is just nolan lol
So warm seeing Nolan talk about Hans Zimmer's score, especially when Zimmer couldn't do Tenet because he was busy with Dune
Denis says he changed Dune to be more loyal to Herbert...absolute bullshit. He changed it to say something political he wanted to say...if he really loved dune and Herbert, he would have made it a s loyal as possible to the book...he tricked me into liking the part one, but I should've expected a disaster from the dude that did Arrival
They really ought to make time for another road trip or some sort of getaway. With their wives too. Emma is instrumental in everything Chris does and Lisa Joy's storytelling with Jonah is amazing. Some wonderfully weird ideas will surely come out of it
They really needed each other. That's why they're so good because each movie they make inspires the other. I used to think of Nolan and Singer with Usual Suspects and Memento, then X-Men and Batman Begins. But Singer kinda fell off a cliff
It’s funny, the green bottles on the coffee table are Mountain Valley Springs water. Growing up, my dad made a point of purchasing bottles of these in excess and pushed it on every friend that came over. He claimed it was the best in the world. At a point in high school, people asked to come over just to try it because it became so legendary 😂 And now every time I see a presser like this or big conference, I see legends like these two and other celebrities drinking it. There’s my random anecdote
this was so candid and fun
I love how they recognize and reflect each other's skill and intelligence.
Bro put Christopher Nolan and ridley Scott video speed
The way he said Denis Villeneuve's name I can't lol! You'd think the bare minimum would be to learn how to say someone's name properly before you present them.
And mispronouncing several of the characters’ names wrong too 😅 foid rahtha.
the best direstor today with the worst director of all history of all mankind
You need to watch more movies then!
lmao imagine being an actual monkey to think The Last Jedi is a bad movie. You expose yourself as an amateur when it comes to movie making.
Good point. I'll dislike the video just for you 👍
👍
25:45 that's it, it's a matter of time until Nolan casts Austin in a movie of his, i know it i feel it, I'm cALLING IT
Listened to this twice in a row, such a fantastic conversation, again!
They are brothers... Nolan has very thick British accent, Jonah has no hint of that... What's up with that?? I mean, not even a little.. Did they ship Jonah to USA once he hit the land??
Their mother is American, and both of them hold dual citizenship. Chris lived in England with their father, while Jonathan spent most of his life in the United States.
Apparently Jonathan thought having an English while living in the states was uncool so he learnt to speak with an American accent instead.
Listen at 3:05 to how he says "process", there are shades of a British accent in how he pronounces certain words. Apparently the brothers spent their time growing up in both the US and UK
Yes, they weren't separated. Chris was older when they moved to US and went to college in UK not long after but Jonah pretty much grew up in States
Zendaya, Timmy, Austin, the other actors, director Denis Villeneuve, cinematographer Greig Fraser, etc; are Magnificent! They will be remembered at OSCAR time. DUNE: PART TWO is a Masterpiece for the Ages! Thank you all for an amazing cinematic experience!
Speaks to Nolan’s humility and true passion for the artwork that he is willing to be deferential to another great artist
The funniest character from Oppenheimer in my opinion!
I find it interesting that both Zendaya and Tom Holland and several other stars have been cast in a Nolan film recently.
