In this video, I'm going at somewhat of a brisk pace here since I try to cover a lot, so my apologies ahead of time. Also, I have a few hiccups (specifically while I'm ...

    Great job! I have a question for you. How do you interpret the drag paradiddle going into the double drag? (2nd page, 6th line, 2nd & 3rd measures). does the last sixteenth note in the second measure become the drag for the downbeat in the next measure? Struggling with this right now and not sure how to play those 2 measures. Thanks for any help!

    your swiss triplet speed and precision is amazing. how the f**k am I supposed to get that fast?

    • @scottgenovese4882
      @scottgenovese4882 3 года назад

      Hello Christian and thanks for the kind words! Before you can execute this fast, you must practice anything slow or in slow motion to understand it better. Whether it is feeling it out, breaking it down, or wondering what motions to use, slow practice is always the best type of practice. So in this case, Swiss Army Triplets should be practiced slowly and the sticks or your stick heights will be higher than when they are played faster. As you get faster, your sticks or the distance of your sticks to the playing surface will decrease. And most importantly, play relaxed and controlled. Don't allow the stick(s) to work you; YOU work the sticks! I hope this all helps and if you are interested in private online drum lessons, I teach via Skype, FaceTime, Discord, Zoom, or whichever platform is easiest for you. Let me know, hope you're doing well, and happy drumming! :)

    Good video man. I have a question, how would you increase the speed of this technique? I don’t want to play fast I just want to improve my overall technique so I’m comfortable at different tempos?

    • @ScottGenovese
      @ScottGenovese 3 года назад

      Greetings Danny! Good question and thanks for watching. The key to increase the speed/tempo using this technique all comes down to "Stick Height" or how high or low the sticks are from the playing surface. These kinds of strokes aren't always going to reach the same height, so the faster you get, the lower the height the sticks will go. It will be the opposite for when you play slower as it is demonstrated most of the time in this lesson video. Also, keep in mind that a loose grip is very important not only for this kind of stroke, but for all strokes! Don't allow your hands to tense up. If you have any questions, please let me know. **I also teach private online drum lessons via Zoom, Discord, Google Meet, or Skype if you are interested :) **

    If you're playing this as '16'ths' at 240 but 32'nds at 120 then that makes the 240 an 8th note click not a quarter note. By claiming quarter not 240's you are false advertising

    • @sameverard351

      disregard that just realised I'm wrong. But you should've specified in the title as "16'th note paradiddles at 240 quarter'....bit misleading. although 32nd's at 240 is humanly impossible it does kinda go without saying I guess. Amyway nice work they are real clean and snappy

      Hi there! Thank you very much! Sorry for the late reply. RUclips used to make it difficult to comment or respond back for some reason. But now, it is no longer a problem :)

    Took this to a solo competition as an 8th grader and got a 1 which is the highest score. Great song, challenging enough but not too frustratingly challenging
