At 4:22, you are describing the fire trap function of the projector. It was designed to keep nitrate film from catching on fire from the concentrated heat of the arc/incandescent lamp house. Safety film will just melt; nitrate will burn like hell... The Powers 5 had an internal shutter, but it caused problems, so they went back to the external shutter on the 6+. That's a 2 bladed shutter that will flicker pretty bad. A 3 bladed shutter would produce a smoother image on screen...

Better use the magnets if you intend on selling it

I just sold one on Ebay last month for $2250, I've seen them go for $2500 and that number will probably grow the longer you hold on to it. It's still been under a year since Tomy first shipped them, so the trajectory has been spectacular on this model. I've got a second to sell, but I think that one will be sold several years from now and we'll see how the market evolves. What's great is the one I keep for myself didn't cost me a dime.

A little reading would have prevented wrong information. The Filmo 70-DR you have there is not a 1940s product. It was released in 1955. The buyer is perhaps only keen on the Angénieux lenses. These are younger, from the 1960s or 1970s, impossible to say without knowledge of the serial numbers.

I thought the "hand" was blue. If you stand back just a few feet you can't see the covers.

I've found that simple modelers putty always takes care of seam problems. It's a simple application prior to painting.

Nice. I've been collecting since the 70's but this was out of my price range. I do have the 15" die cast Enterprise from the Franklin Mint. The best I could do this year was the Hand of Apollo Enterprise ornament from Hallmark.

Question, overhead view of the secondary hull, towards the rear above the shuttle bay, is that a long light-leak crack on the back? Overall it's beautiful, but I hadn't seen that angle before so I'm curious.

Put something under the base to tilt up the whole ship to change the center of gravity on the saucer section.

That’s the best model I’ve ever seen of 1701! The detail the lights especially love the view of the bridge. Very reminiscent the opening scene of Star Trek the cage bridge zoom in, and the shuttle bay looks phenomenal
