Zoom R16 - Broken on/off switch.
I had to take unit apart, clean PCB with isopropyl alcohol, then was able to free up some broken switch metal and set switch to permanently on.
if I can find the replacement switch I will desolder and replace. For the moment the unit works again now. If I need to turn it off I will switch off power supply at mains.

The only way to delete individual patches (mostly preset patches created by ZOOM and loaded into the unit) I've found, so far, is a piecemeal approach. It is done by clicking on the DELETE icon in EDITOR screen and then moving the cursor to one of the "pedals" you want to delete (arranged in a line in the graphic on the screen) which will then highlight the pedal, in pink, click again and it will be deleted from the patch. This procedure must be done to delete each of the remaining pedals in the chain. This will vacate the patch, freeing up memory. Then, you can create a patch from the available effects in the unit form any vacated patch slot. This is my understanding.
Super interesting !! Thanks for sharing ..
It's a lovely 25 watts! i have the mim frontman 25r & the 2nd batch made in indonesia one They are the later models of yours I Love mine!
Thanks. Didn't know this. For a solid state it sure is versatile tone.

I'd love to do this on my Japan jazz... as I have the same issue with having to pull up all those wires to replace the 9 volt battery.
@@jac37040 hi. I replied to this last night. But, well, YT didn't post it. Soz. Incase it doesn't resurface - have you considered mounting a DC socket in the control plate and then running 9v (or 18v - EMG claims to be able to handle it). I would velcro the battery bank to my bass strap. Less invasive - you could buy another control plate, butcher that with a drill, keep original incase you want to go back to passive. This way you don't need to mod the bass too much.
@@stephenhookings1985 That is a consideration... I had a 1995 fretless p bass and later had EMGs installed with the back routed out by the same luthier for the battery. It was expensive labor and pickups as I recall in 1996! Loved that bass but sold it as I played it less and less over the years.
The only P I have is the Squier VM Jaguar Short scale - my first bass. Those SD quarterpounders are great. And effectively hum cancelling. I had to go to EMGs for most of my jazz basses - or dial in equal neck/bridge. I will likely make the battery mod on one of my basses. Could save me a fortune in batteries! And remove worry of leakage.
Excellent! I've been trying to control my G1four from reaper Midi automation, but I don't understood which sysex code should I use to select banks and patches. Can you help me with it?
@@WauezMachado sure - please check out my wiki github.com/shooking/ZoomPedalFun/wiki/De-re-B1XFour The G1Four ID is, I believe, same as the B1XFour. Try with MidiOX first to check? I have some videos on using MidiOX with an MS70CDR. LoadPatch is what you might be looking for? It's B0 and C0 bank/patch commands
Sir how to add krampus amp on b3n.? I add all effect from g5n is good and but krampus not appear
@@dederidwan1222 hi there. You confused me cos this isn't a guitar pedal :-). The Krampus should load on g5n. I suspect Zoom natively prevents it on the B3n. I don't use Krampus - and listening to it I can get the effect by turning up the gain on my real valve amp. I will try to see if I can use Mungewell's Zoom rt2 to load it onto an B3n emulator on a GCE-3. I only have a G5n - I don't have the physical B3n to check.

Got a thormaan single cut larry carlton. Replaced the bridge and tuners, because the D tuner was overlapped by 1\4 inch! of badly cut head stock! It will not stay in tune!! for 1bar !! Let alone a whole song!
@@johntaylor6243 didn't you used to be bassist for Duran Duran and The Power Station ? Is your Larry Carlton a Harley Benton? Or the Sire (which is a really great guitar). In any case, contact Thommann and they ought to sort you out - provided it was manufacturing issue
@@johntaylor6243 forgot to mention - for me I had to reach the plastic HB nut with a graph tech, sort out the floating whammy bar then let the strings "stretch". After that all was good. Not bad for a £72 guitar plus parts (£10, £50). There again I have had to do variants of this on every 6 string I own with a whammy - except for the Burny.
Where did you get the source for the games, that's the problem I'm having?
@@ESIG3800 so I used to have a 400, 800, 600xl and maybe a 130 back in the day. I bought a load of cartridges, tapes, disks. Nowadays you can Google for them. One source is www.atarimania.com/pgemainsoft.awp?system=8&type=G But there are various French archives too. Recall these are 8k, 16k roms. Don't overclick. They download so instantly that you can get 10 copies before you realise!!!
@@stephenhookings1985 Thanks I still have an old 400 I just got going again. Thinking about getting a 400 mini.
@@ESIG3800if you have the 400 (that membrane keyboard...) I would keep that. Run an emulator like Atari800Win on a PC to get similar experience. I got the Mini simply because it boots faster than Retropie and plays Star Raiders no problems. The Pi emulator can crash too often for my liking but the X86 version seems much more stable

WOW! How about some SOUND.
That video was to explain how the setting works. Here's another one with sound demo ruclips.net/video/YI09xRolcIY/видео.htmlsi=OZ8JY5gTTbWFwNfQ
@@stephenhookings1985 Not that I can find.
There is sound on the one linked above. I change the rhythms then the tempo. What kind of sound demo were you expecting please?
mine burned after bsod
Nasty. Crowdstrike caused a lot of BSOD too. I could never find documentation for these boards.
it’s the turbo’s wastegate rattle or the play in the cam-follower from the injection pomp, or both. The chain is the last thing!
wait blabi?- Blabi: *I CANT REACT OR ELSE IM GONNA COUGH SO MUCH inhale AHHHH!*
I realised the D string issue is easily fixable. Just turn that saddle thru 180 degrees and now the string is effectively longer - can intonate accurately over 2 octaves.
2:00 what do you call that hole in the lower right where you plug the cable from the module to the pedal

So the Mrs was driving and I filmed with zoom on my mobile.
Asume nothing test everything.
Yeah - between USB and double insulated no earth plugs things can get noisy very quickly.
Would it be possible to place a potentiometer on the encoders?
The PCB is designed to use endless encoders. A pot would not send the appropriate signals so I highly doubt it will work. I am pretty sure I added this into a playlist. You should be able to see the videos where I measure pulses etc from the quadrature. What I have done is to make a parallel output that can be controlled with a SBC like an ESP32. Then I can use two foot switches - left/right to trigger quadrature up/down. I should have made a note of any part numbers for the encoders.
@@stephenhookings1985 I would like to add an expression pedal to the Zoom, but I don't know how, that's why I asked about the potentiometer
Cool. I will think about it. The internals are digital. Hence why they use a inc/Dec endless encode.
But ... you could use a SBC to send midi, digitize a pot and send whatever midi to change parameters. It does seem only the 1st 3 FX respond though.
@@stephenhookings1985 I've done some research, and I knew that it doesn't get midi cc messages, I think it's with something called Sysex midi, I don't know what other midi messages it gets
Zoom G3X or G5. ??
This one is a G5. They are very similar pedals but I think the g5 can handle more FX?
Nice that cars stopped to let them cross.. uncommon for English drivers
The pavement cyclists didn't though. What cracked me up - the baby geese started doing this first ... the parents followed them. Now the parents lead. Can teach an old goose new tricks!
@stephenhookings1985 it don't surprise me the cyclists don't stop they have a special dispensation.. lol it's cool that baby geese showed the parent's how it's done.. the cycle of life sped fast forward a few generations 😂
Maybe plan your videos ahead of time. Bye.

Apparently the Zoom G2Four effects use the same processor, would it be possible to access them?
Check out Mungwell's work for the G2. Look him up on Github.com. I do not have access to a G2. I would imagine many of the commands would work when the Sysex ID is changed.
Ha semanas to tentando fazer esse ZT2 funcionar , mas sem sucesso
Hello, I'm Brazilian, maybe the translation won't be 100% I couldn't understand the steps correctly I have a G5n and I use Windows, without the raspberry-pi, I downloaded Python 3 but it won't open zoomZT2 I managed to add some effects and cabinets using "Firmware editor" but the amps don't work here in Brazil, due to access and import taxes being high, many people use older zoom pedalboards I looked a lot for these modifications here in Brazil, but no Brazilian RUclips channel has them. I got in touch with a lot of people in the guitar field on RUclips but no one knows about it.
Please check out Mungwell's work here: github.com/mungewell/zoom-zt2 I used a Pi because they are (again) cheap. Mac should work. A Linux box. Mungwell also has steps on using a Windows box.

What is your specific problem? My fallback is to use PC to setup presets then move between then. Don't touch the parameters
@@stephenhookings1985 when I run the zoom g5, screen is white, nothing displayed! Nothing at all, only background light, no sound, nothing!

Just stumbled across your video, which was very informative. One question, did you have any of the Yahoo user group patches ? I heard there was some great patches and would love to try them. 🙂
Yes. I put them here github.com/shooking/MiniakPanel I will leave them there unless anyone complains and asks me to take them down. Anything by Uralmoto is well Worth a trial.
