After hearing “There’s nothing to do in El Dorado” once too often, I created this channel to showcase the amazing people who live here, the destinations to visit and the fun to be had in and around El Dorado.

Historian and Consultant for the Butler County Historical Society Home of the Kansas Oil Museum gave a presentation as part of the museum's Speaker Series sponsored by Commerce Bank.
"THE SOLDIER STATE: REMEMBERING CIVIL WAR VETERANS AND THE GAR IN KANSAS AND BUTLER COUNTY."
Kansas entered the Union on January 29, 1861 as the 34th State just as the Civil War was erupting.
Over the course of the next four years, over 20,000 Kansans would serve in the war. The highest per capita of any state in the Union.
