More 8hp fun in the Chaser up Driftland…
More drifting with the 8hp JZX100 Chaser up Driftland.
Can’t get over how good it is to drift with an 8hp gearbox compared to the old manual box! 2 days of drifting and the 8hp took it in its stride.
Now to get it handling better with some new BC Racing ccoilovers and adjustable rear arms to dial in some more grip.
Oh and lots more seat time🤭

Landrover and Jaguar gear selector temporary fix
Просмотров 102 тыс.2 года назад
Temporary fix for Landrover or Jaguar with the rotary style gear selector to get you home. This will allow you to select gear so the vehicle can be driven again after shift lock solenoid failure.
Omg saved me with this video. I watched another video showing how to actually remove it but it was simple. I did it myself. Just need a screw driver and bolt remover
Really big thanks mate 👍
Can you help me with getting the gear box out...
Hello, I have a 2016 Evoque, the transmission is stuck in D mode, I plan to do what you did, but I'm wondering if this trick only temporarily starts the car or if it can stay that way, I'm not really sure?
Thanks for your video. You are a lifesaver!
It worked for me, 2010 Jaguar xf !!!!! Thank you !
God bless you! ❤
Thank you so much, you are a life saver !
Brilliant my jaguar xf was stuck for weeks and this sorted it straight out Thankyou
I just wanted to tell you thank you, I did exactly what you taught, and now my car is back on the road. Thank you so much. ❤❤
Greetings. Can you tell me what the problem was and how it was solved? I'm currently having the same problem stuck in D mode luckily it's home
This doesn't work , turns but doesn't change any gears .
used this fix today at the side of the road worked great thank you very much
Thanks to your video I was able to get car back on road. 1 hour at most to temporarily fix. Thanks!!!!!! Definitely subscribing. 2010 Jaguar xf S/C 5.0 slightly different setup but exact same underneath.
Replaced mine, cost $1250 aud very easy to replace in a discovery sport.
Thanks a lot! You're genius!
Hello, good video. What happens if the lifting of the knob is neutralized, remaining always raised , neutralizing the internal mechanical plastic part that blocks the knob? Thank you.
Sir Gemini auto works😁 that’s your new title. Car stuck for 3 days and fixed it in ten mins thanks to you.
Thanks 🇧🇷🔥
If you are in a hurry and dont have time to remove the unit, you can press down foot on the brake, press start and the moment it starts, (its in a neutral mode for a second), press down firmly on the gear selector with two fingers and turn at the same time. You will be able to get in gear and get home. If you want to reverse or put back in park, just press firmly on the selector again and turn at the same time to desired gear.
Mine is stuck in D and won't start at all.
@@Grievance_Studies_Affair_2018 My discovery is in the same position, gear stuck in D and car won’t start. Were you able to find a fix?
👍👍👌
Hi,trying to get my head around this part and its function. I’m assuming that when the rotary dial rises, the shift lock disengages at the same time allowing the dial to move to drive etc so now that the shift lock is held in the unlocked position with the duck-tape, when the car is turned off and the dial lowers, in theory the rotary dial can still be turned because the lock is held open with the tape albeit the dial will be hard to turn because it is flush. So my question is if this is not a part for safety can this work-a-round be permanent ? A new selector is £600 and refurbished selector £300.
I did this when I got stuck before. Once I pressed start I immediately firmly press on the selector down and turn it at the same time to move into gear.
You have done our community a huge favor… you sir are a king!
Thank you so very much for your help! Mine was stuck in Drive in the middle of the street and I was able to follow your instructions to get it in N and R, and get the vehicle off the street instead of waiting 3-4 hours for a tow truck on a Friday night! Again, many thanks.
Before reinstalling, does the selector need to be lowered back down or is it left in the up position?
I'm also interested in that, what you did?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ absolutely star! What a video thank you
This dude jammz.. Did mine and is truly working... thank u sir
Excellent video not a load of bullshit like you get from the camera queens. This vid is all meat 100% Helpful
Rubber bands work better
How do you fix not being able to select gear permanently please
This video was very useful today when my Evoque would not shift out of park. I was able to get it home, where I disassembled the selector. One issue was the plastic piece through which the threaded bar runs to raise and lower the knob was broken into 4 pieces. I 3D printed a new one, but that didn't fix the shift problem. That turned out to be no voltage to the solenoid, caused by one of the pair of 1 ohm senses resistors going bad. They are by the 3 pin connector on the board. I found another one on a scrap PCB, replaced it and now the selector works fine.
Did you do diagnostics? what error code came up? my car Disco Sport L550 SE has gear box fault, parking brake fault, can't get it into gear had to be towed, they think fault wiring harness, but others say possible a transducer or resistorrr.
@@karisstowers3516 this sounds like a parking eBrake harness. I have the same issue with my evoque. I changed the read harness. Problem fixed. I Hope this is helpful.
Hi great temporary fix but not the sort of job you can do at roadside TBF especially on a L405 Range Rover its NOT easy to remove and takes a few hours
15 minutes tops
Saved me. Thanks
Thanks man. I just did this this morning in Colorado and it got my wife’s Disco home. Appreciate it.
Thanks for the video it will help me to fix
You absolute legend, the 1200€ I would have had to spend was one thing but I’d had had to have waited for 30 days to get the part here! 🙏🫶🏼
Do new units needs coding ??
Do a video on how to remove the gear shift module
There is a video... I used it
I used an elastic band, but yeah 👍
does this happens to all models of jaguar or newer models dont have that problem? im thinking about getting xf 2016
It just happened to my XF 2016
My 2017 XF S just samething just happens stuck in drive with the rotary in the up position
@@JoeDirt00 Did you fix it yourself eventually?
@@Grievance_Studies_Affair_2018 nope had to have it sent off and upgraded I can send company
can you tell me the 12 pinout of the Gear Selector ??
You my friend are a genius. It got me out of a very sticky situation and had it repaired for a small cost
Did you get the solenoid replaced?
This saved me a night stranded in the Scottish highlands -14 can’t thanks you enough
Life saver!! My hours at work have been cut and all of my bills are due including yearly property taxes AND It’s Christmas!!! This broke on me the morning I was going Christmas shopping for my 7 year old. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this saved me until I can afford a new piece.
Great tip, don't replace the unit there's a company that repairs these and upgrades the electronics so it doesn't happen again, costs a lot less than a new one too.
What is the name of the company?
What’s the company
@@mianaseer812ECTTesting or something like that. You send your selector in, you get it back in a couple days, and if the selector wasn’t the problem then you get your money back minus shipping and testing fee
Howzit my Evoque was able to move to all of the mode except park what could be the fault now
So I took mine out of a Range Rover 5.0 Super-Charged Long Wheel Base, I tested the park solenoid and it works with a 9v battery, I am no sure what the problem is when it is hooked to the car the knob wont turn however after i did this fix in your video the shifter works fine, except it will lock every chance it gets I have to always manually remove it
It’s usually a circuit board failure, rather than the solenoid. They last forever.
Powertune can fix these for good
dO TELL PLEASE
You Sir, are a genius, thank you for sharing this 👍👍
Brill video helped me as stuck for 6 hrs in middle of nowhere and got home on it in my lR4 2014 model 😀 👍
Great video
