I know that 4 string bass player Jamie Jamie dim the living in a band for a little while he still doesn't try to balance a beer off his bass does he lol I need to get out and see you guys how to get a hold of Jamie and find out next show you guys are playing take care keep up the good work
Is there an after the finishing?
Thanks for the commentary I just purchased a vintage baby carriage at a yard sale & needed to see this video because the tires are rough.💪🏽
Wow!! What a beautiful piece of art!!! Such craftsmanship!! I’m sure you’ll do a premiere restoration!!! Such a different time when quality was king!!! Can’t wait to see the final product!! The Old Army Scout…
Poplar is SOFT WOOD
Really beautiful!
10 coats seems like over kill
Always haters .Beautiful work
Great video , picked one up today and hoping to restore it .Thanks
If i may ask, what is the name of the gold you are spraying on the drums. thanks.
There really is always a video. Thank you so much
great solo, but wear a god damn shirt.
Very cool. I’m looking at restoring a carriage with wicker sides. I think I can do this. I didn’t think to paint it.
Stripping maple chairs with corrosive stripper. Can water washing be done with a hose or pressure washer on low setting? And then wipe dry?
Ah what’s the name of this black
I’m surprised you don’t remove the badge. Is it a pain in the ass?
I was so worried at first but its absolutely gorgeous.
Bruce seems to be such a fine person. I wish he had the apparatus to protect his lungs/breathing. He is around so much dust and chemicals in his environment. This is one fan who is really concerned.
Needs gloves also!
I wanted to see the entire finished product!
No overspray on the inside?
Hi Bruce. Are you still restoring baby strollers? I would be interested in a quote. Thanks!
Cool! What kind of gloves? Natural brush? What kind of covers for your table? Thanks much
Love the camara lady 🙏
I’m 1/2 way into the video. Good job 👍🏻 I’m now going to do my c cabinets.
The video ended rather abruptly. :D
what stain did you use
I know this is an old video so I know you might not see this but I bought 6 Hitchcock chairs (for $40 total!!) they are a little dirty and dinged up. How do I refresh the painted stenciling? Most of them have darken and you can only see the gold in one of the chairs. They were made in 1983.
What color stain did you use
What brand of stripper did you use?
Which grit of steel wool is best for this?
#0000 FINE STEEL WOOL..... Often called: "Four-Ott". The key is to use the finest grit of steel wool you can which effectively removes the finish (Varnish, Lacquer, Poly's). The lower the grit #, the more abrasive the steel wool. Patience is the name of the game....like he said, "Let the stripper do the work". Many people get impatient and want to be able to remove all the finish with one coat of stripper, that's a mistake. Each subsequent layer of stripper will soften the finish products more and more. Basically, you don't want the steel wool to leave scratches or swirls in the actual wood grain. The one thing he didn't mention, because this video was purely about how to "Strip" finishes, is that it's CRUCIAL TO FIRST THOROUGHLY CLEAN the surfaces you intend to strip. Scrub the cabinet doors with TSP to remove ALL the dirt, oil, wax, Silicones from furniture polish, and grease, before you strip or sand. This is hugely important because you don't want any of those oils, grease etc... to have a chance of penetrating into the wood because it will "Contaminate" the wood surface. If the wood surface gets contaminated, it WILL greatly effect how the new finish applies. Contaminates in the wood can cause a "Fish-Eye" appearance to occur in your finish which is a complex nightmare to deal with.....you may even have to strip-off your new finish and start over. Mohawk-Finishing sells a few excellent products you can use as a last step before applying the new finish to ensure the wood is completely decontaminated: 1) Silicone Wash 2) Wax Wash Remover.....
Thanks for the reply. If this stripper will penetrate dry oil base paint, then it will surely dissolve any oils or wax that are still on the surface before stripping.
Prep steps???
My name is Bruce Lachniet. I was born in Traverse City. I got my last name from Herman Lachniet. He looks a lot like you. I'm not saying you are my Father LOL But I was curious at the Lach. Having this name for 60 plus years. It gets real tiresome trying to pronounce a name you never learned how to pronounce
Beautiful! How did you strip it?
Cut the high frequencies, add bass.
A different cab with better speakers would accomplish that, and give more clean volume as well
Hi Bruce- I am planning to restore a 1946 Spartan Manor camper and your video is really going to help me return those old seafoam painted cabinets to their former glory! Thanks for posting!
Hello Bruce,is the clear coat 2 pack?

I don't think you know what in hell you are doing i caned many chairs but not the slopy way like that i hope no one is taking notes on this caning poor job.
It's gorgeous
20 years is pretty good, new homedepot/china cabinets fall apart in 3 MONTHS lol, i have a cabinet refinishing bussines i spray paint and restain, i dont do refacing just dont trust the materials of today.
Beauty.
I was hired to refinish an antique tea cart with wheels like these once and had trouble finding the replacement rubber...I used clear vinyl tubing that I filled with black caulking. It also worked well.
What kind of sealer do you use?
Is that just a black stain you spray on and then put a clear lacquer top coat or is that a lacquer that is black? I am looking to refinish my great grandmother’s Boston Piano company upright.
Do you use regular bondo or wood filler bondo?
Buy the way that is amazing liquid what brand 👍👍
