Beautiful Gila
Still loving the Pack? Specifically the shoulder straps? Ive been a zpacks guy since 2016 pretty much only because they were the lightest option. But the shoulder straps have been getting smaller and smaller in width on each new pack I've got from them. Thinking its time to go with a new company. Happy Hiking, beep beep
Hey awesome 1st review bro!!! That trash and stuff pocket looks clutch.
👍👍
Love it 😻 from 5:20 to 5:45 is my backyard (I know that truck 🛻). I found the MRT and simblissity through your vid, just bought the trail kit and will be doing part 5 over thanksday 🙌💥
truly incredible you and your buddy made this full journey!. I just discovered this trail in abq sandias (on a map, haha) and was blown away that it went 700+ miles to phoenix. you guys are rockstars
literally all the emotions of thru hiking in one video. 👍
what a crazy ass adventure! i kind of want to hike this trail.
How many litres is the Ranger? Evolved does not say.
Check "specs" under the product.
Beautiful trail. Thank you for sharing!
You emptying all the sand and dirt from your shoes reminds me of 20 years ago cleaning my sons shoes out after he played outside all day in southern AZ 😂
Username matches 🤣
So sweet of Dennis to give you $40 ❤🎉
Great video! Watching your series to get pumped for my MRT hike this month. It's working 🤘
Thanks much for watching I appreciate it 🙏 wish I could be around to say hi! Enjoy it
Solid film-making. Superior editing, photog, sound. Nicely done.
Great videos! Beep beep,hahahaa
Thanks for watching I appreciate your time! (Paints a tunnel on a brick wall)
Thanks for the great First Look Video! ❤
Of course 🙏
looks just like the waymark pack. It wouldn't surprise me if this is a white label deal between waymark and evolved.
I'm not sure what you mean by "the waymark pack" but seeing as how the brain behind one of their packs and this company is in fact the same brain, this pack has a few ideas in common. However that doesn't instantly tether those two companies together, and believe me they are anything but that However reddit has a great sub for conspiracy you could get this thread going on! Cheers. Thanks for watching
@@hikingcoyote8169 waymark is an company that makes ultra light backpacks that look "very" similar to this design. Darwin used to swear by it. If I'm right I wouldn't call it a conspiracy, it's just business. There are plenty of products with different brand names that are made in the same factories and designed by the same folks.
@@Kevinschart yes I'm familiar with Waymark, they make different kind of packs one of which Darwin helped design. He didn't just swear by it, he collaborated and designed a backpack with them. But they're no longer affiliated with each other and now Darwin has developed his own gear company which makes this backpack. So we could draw similarities amongst almost every company and the brain behind the gear, but that doesn't initiate a white label deal? Regardless, this is just a gear review about a backpack. This video has nothing to do with either company, business relations, or Darwin himself.
Hey Kevin! We are not affiliated with that company in any way. We produce our own packs here in the US. Our products are designed and developed in our own shop based out of Florida and manufactured in Colorado. Thanks!
How much did it weigh when you loaded it for 4 or 5 days?
I was out for 3 days but I loaded around 4 days of food and gear, and I can't say what it weighed exactly. I'm not familiar with my base weight either! Next time I load er up I'll check and get back to you 👍
Nice review! Good licking pack. Great channel. New follower here. Crow✌️
Thanks for your time and following along Crow! 🙏
Look at this smooth mofo
Everytime I see the bottom mesh. I just think palante started that
When I was in high school I had a Jansport hiking/running backpack that had a bottom pocket that's almost the exact thing.
It looks like a good pack but the mesh on the bottom is the reason I just bought a Waymark Ultra pack. I don’t think the mesh will last long and storing trash in my pack will just leave a scent and the critters will have a field day. And being a new pack on the block i’ll wait for some long term reviews and then possibly buy one. Other than that i really wanted to get a Ranger. Good review though!
Thanks for watching 🙏! Fair enough! This was just my first impression/first look, so time will tell the rest! I've never had issues with critters by using my outer fanny pocket as a trash pocket but a lot of my trash is licked clean when it goes in 👍. I appreciate the feedback amigo.
I think the critters vs bottom-pocket-trash-scent is a bit of an urban myth. Over the past 6 years or so, since Palant’e popularized the bottom pocket, 1000s of hikers have used this feature with no problems.
@@dcaudwell good to know thank you.
good job with the interview, bud
Ayee thanks! I appreciate that thanks for watching too 👍
THanks for the review, but Darwin sucks.
Thanks for watching! I hope you find a better place to express your personal feelings than on a RUclips video about a backpack 👍
@@hikingcoyote8169 As opposed to my non personal feelings?
@@CharmingGecko actually they would be your impersonal feelings.
@@wanttogo1958 I don’t, and It’s more than likely no one else know what you mean by that.
@@CharmingGecko if you know the English language then you know that what you referred to as non personal comments are correctly described as and called impersonal comments. Look it up.
Thanks for the review! Looks like a pretty sweet pack. Question: how wide is the front mesh pocket? Can you please measure it for me? Is the mesh rather stiff or easy to stretch? Thank you!
Thanks! The pocket is a bit over 10 inches wide, and it's stiffer than most outer pocket material but still quite easy to get into and feel around for whatever you've got stuffed in there. I use my outer pocket a lot and I found it easy to get things in and out of.
A little over 10 inches will almost always be the answer. Palante, Dandee, Yar, Waymark etc etc. Almost invariably 11 inches wide.
Great Review!! Can’t wait tell mine comes in.
Hope you enjoy it!
Nice review!
Thank you and thanks for watching 🙏
Hey look it’s me @6:35 Also, l thought the brass clip was pretty sexy as well
This good
Seems like a sweet bag.
I'm really into it
@@hikingcoyote8169 You sleep inside it?
Congrats on doing the ICT and thanks for sharing your videos! Love your sense of humor. The Sawtooths look stunning, looking forward to getting down to that end of the trail one day. Happy hiking wherever this summer takes you!
Loved the video! Haven't found a whole lot of videos out there about the NNML. Question: that spot at 7:28 that was so narrow--was that on-trail or something optional?
Ayee thank you! It's a great route. And that was a brief alternate! I believe there's also a good trail just below that ridge as well. The creator of this route is very attentive to detail and always gives a heads up for anything spicy.
Good to know, thank you! I appreciate the reply. I had messaged the creator of the route a few months back and they assured me that the guide and maps should be available this coming spring as well.
Canadian here. I originally heard about Mogollan Rim from Captain Gnarkill's channel. Visiting Arizona is now on my bucket list. Your scenery is beyond amazing, and beautifully-photographed in this video.
Glamorous opening shots, landscapes are simply stunning.
Nice hearing the other hikers motivations. 🐻 Is bear spray necessary or required on PNT?
It's pretty subjective. Most hikers carry it, but some don't to save weight or assume the risk of an encounter is low. While I'd say you aren't in a lot of grizz territory compared to other hikes, I personally liked having it for peace of mind in the few instances I did see grizzly bears. Also, it works on people too... lol
Good stuff, enjoyed 🥾🥾
I live in S.F. county and just got off trail from the H.D.R. and a hiker named Lucky Man told me about this trail! Found your video and want to thank you and was wondering if the Rio Grande was low enough this year to walk across,? it looks like you did? This is on my list for sept. for sure.
Hmmm it's really hard to say right now what'll be happening with the ol Rio Grande. My fords were quite managable, one was a bit high but after scouting the river up and down I noticed a better spot to cross. I hiked this in September of 2021 and went clockwise, absolutely loved it. Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the clipz!
Good stuff. Funny, when you were showing footage of a saquaro I said to myself, "I know that one". Then, the next shot was of the bridge near the Gila, so sure enough - that's the one! Anyhow, thanks for sharing!
Hey Coyote! We met out on the Colorado Trail in Lake City. Thanks for putting these videos up, inspiring me to head back south. -Mooch
Ahhh Mooch I remember! With Samaritan and Ian yeah? Good to hear from you and so glad you enjoy the moments!
Great video! I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
Thank you! This is all I recorded for this one. I planned on a better ending but I walked into Santa Fe absolutely wrecked in a rush to catch a train, bus, and plane so the only footy I missed was throwing my shoes away and eating a red/green chile smothered burrito.
Oh wow, wow, wow. Loved this series. Thanks for creating it!
Thanks so much for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it! happy hiking.
So many nice panoramas 👏👏
Good capture of experience, I could feel the terrain.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Cool vid. Was doing some reading on AZT and found info on Mogollon trail.
