There are many amazing hikes within the Kosciuszko National Park but none compare to climbing Hannels Spur. Hannels Spur is a 22km hike from Geehi Flat to Thredbo's Koscuiszko Chairlift. A lot has been happening in the small rural town of Dungog, an hour north of Newcastle. They have dug in to making the best FREE flow trails in the Hunter Region. Good video mate...was the summit hut unlocked ? Keen to get there and take a look around theres like 6 huts beyond the village 😊 ive been to 3 but not the summit side
Thanks mate, no they were all locked when we visited but that was a long time ago so not sure whether they keep them locked all the time!
Be interesting to see how this would get auto converted into a RUclips Short? ❤
is stromlo in canberra i would really like to check it out
It sure is 😊
Do you reckon the snow will be enough around the end of June?
The snow around Thredbo is most reliable around the end of July and August. However, the ski field usually opens from the June long weekend so there is a strong chance that there will be some snow.
Nice! Showed this to a mate and told him it was me yesterday. But I took about 4x the time! 🔥🔥
Went the wrong way after the container.... went into carolyns which is the blue... to continue from vapour all the way down... you go vapour, trump card, noahs ark, g-loc into wallaby run which is all the black and big jumps or the hard stuff
Thanks for the clarification, been a long time since I was there and that was the one and only run down that trail I had. Found it challenge enough to stay on the bike let alone get the directions right 😂😂
How long do these 2 trails take
Generally it's an all day outing if you are shuttling with a company they leave derby roughly 9 and you'll get back somewhere around 3 (times vary quite a bit) The blue tier takes roughly 2 hours for your average rider and atlas is about 1-1.5 hours back to Derby. The blue tier is an hour in the bus from derby and then you get a shuttle from weldborough pub up to Atlas. Hope this info helps
What camping ground is this?
It's a makeshift remote campsite, not a dedicated site. I couldn't tell you exactly where it was but we walked several hours west of the top of the Kosciusko chairlift
you should ride all the trails up at belair, like ando's and other trails up there, really good
Ahh would love to get back out that way riding again, but have no idea when that will be haha, cheers for the tip on the trails though 👌
Hey what tent did u use ?
Hey, sorry I can't remember the exact tent. We rented a four season tent off the guides we went with
Those corners where u reacted and skipped the bend is where most people would have died 😂
😂 definitely would have liked a few extra runs down to remember the lines 😬🤘
Nice video..I love threadbo.
Cheers mate, it is such a great spot! One of Australia's best
Great clip. I read your article. Question - will a DH bike suit majority gravity trails? Or am I best off taking the trail bike? Cheers
You would be fine with either on most trails, though on the cannonball your trail bike will struggle and on the all-mountain you trail bike will shine, most of the other trails are generally gravity focused but nothing too technical so your trail bike will be fun but so will the dh. I guess it really depends what you plan on riding the most. If it's an option I would take both 👌
Sorry didn't really give you the perfect answer, bit of a tough decision. Personally I love dh and riding dh bikes and being Australia's only chair lift accessible park I would be lapping it on the dh but I would steer clear of the all-mountain on a dh. That's what I would do if I could only choose one... But if it's your first time and you want to experience everything maybe the trail bike will be more versatile, it will just be very rough if you take it down the cannonball. Hope that helps
@@trackslesstravelled896 I'm leaning DH. Thankyou for the feedback 👍
@@trackslesstravelled896 I was always leaning towards DH but was worried about too much pedalling on flow trail etc. I'm riding 3 days so I'm thinking the DH will be more forgiving on the body. Once again, thankyou for getting back to me 👍🙏
Absolutely brilliant and beautifully made. This production work should be on mainstream media and Tourism Tasmania should pull it's finger out , stop self congratulating itself with black tie award nights and start working with YOU people who have your heart in showing the great but subtle natural beauty, generally unseen environmental gems of the State of Tasmania ..GO FOR IT WELL DONE.
Again, cheers for the compliment and glad your loving our vids 👌
Excellent film and production work...leaves Tourism Tasmania's promotional adds for dead. Some great views, Ben Nevis, Mt Cameron, south end Ben Lomond, Mt Horror, Tulendeena Hill, Mt Maurice. The forgetten, overgrown lost, once popular picnic ground at Denison Gorge 3 km down the railway from Lebrina. WELL DONE
This would have to be the best compliment we've ever received ☺️ thanks so much and really glad you like it! Hoping to produce more and more 👌
Butter edits

Is this in Newcastle 🇬🇧?
Nah, Newcastle Australia 🇦🇺
Alright mate!
Rode here on Monday, was a blast!
Awesome trails aren't they!!!
Sick 🤙
Nice 👍
Mountain bikes and gravel bikes open up a new world of fun..
You have definitely got that right!
THIS!!! This is what I've been dreaming of doing all my life. I'm contacting you Mike.
Love it 🤘🏻
Cheers man! Slapped this one together pretty quick but very keen to get right into making some more in depth films!
@@trackslesstravelled896 mate love your riding films awesome perspective, sick of all that GoPro footage that requires no effort all over RUclips!
Thanks mate, yeah takes a bit more effort to lug the camera around and edit it that's for sure!
@@trackslesstravelled896 that’s such a sweet section of trail ya gotta promise you’ll take me down that one 😉
When you get down here we can do all of them!
did you have any stargazing experience there? was it magnificient? what is the expectation vs reality of stargazing over there?
Yes we did, we had perfectly clear weather and it was magnificent! If you are a photographer the expectation definitely meets the reality!
@@trackslesstravelled896 wow!!! cant wait! any recommendations on stargazing spots over there? was the sky clear all around warrumbungle or only certain areas?
@@aliridha6789 It's pretty good everywhere! Mountain tops are of course the best but it was still good from the main campsite near the visitors centre
@@trackslesstravelled896 got it! thanks for the tips!!
@@trackslesstravelled896 though, are we only allowed to camp at the campsites?
Hi..great video. What track did you do in 3 days?
Hey there, thank you so much! The multi-day hike we did was the loop that begins and ends at Pincham car park. We did it anti clockwise, beginning with Cathedral Arch and Mt Exmouth followed by Bluff Mountain and The Breadknife on the second and third day. You can read about our itinerary and other details of hiking at the Warrumbungles in our guide on our website, I've added the link below :) trackslesstravelled.com/hiking-the-warrumbungles/#Four-Day-Itinerary-For-The-Warrumbungles

Nice shots and cool editing. May I know where is this sea cliffs? Looks stunning.
Thank you 😊 They are known as Bunda cliffs and it's along the Great Australia Bite (on the South Australian and Western Australian border)
We’ll put together vids man
Very baron hey
Such different terrain
Dangerous gig being cameraman 😆
Great footage guys 🤙🏻
doesnt look like there are any tracks there, which mean you would have to be fairly experienced to do that walk, with navigational skills. Are there multiday walk in mt kosciuszko that have trails there, which any idiot can do
Hey Dominic, navigational skills are recommended for Hannels Spur, but a popular walk that has more signage is the Main Range walk, which goes from Charlotte's Pass to Mt Kosciusko. It is still graded 4 with some navigation skills beneficial. You can also do a walk from the top of Kosciusko chairlift to Mt Kosciusko and back, which is a heavily trafficked hike.
Those red grips look sick
Cheers mate, they are well and truely worn out now 😂😂
Only issue is there’s no train to get you back to the top. That’s why I love riding Belair there’s a train
A train would be very handy at a lot of bike parks 😂
Nice ride mate ! Follow the flow 🔝🔝🤙
Cheers man 👌
@@trackslesstravelled896 🔥🔥🔥
What's the name of these trails? And which ones would you recommend (preferably gravity style enduro trails)? Cheers
These are the Tyrolean and mill creek trails located on the eastern side of the dam in Jindabyne. Our favourite was three lions, really fun intermediate trail. And also the Pink Trail was fun. We haven't been there for years so it may have changed though.
Is it done within one day? Which way did you go first (to the north side is it)? thx
Yeah we did this all in a day. You can camp on the island which would be great to allow more time. Would definitely recommend either taking a bike or hiring one, it saves a lot of time. We went straight to Bishop and Clerk and then worked anticlockwise from there.
@@trackslesstravelled896 Wow, thank you so much. That's very efficient! I will try this way, I went the another way(to south)last time and even didnt finish that one, thank you!✨✨😊
@@jingtingren4980 no worries, glad to help! It's such a beautiful island and we can't wait to get back and summit Mt Maria
@@trackslesstravelled896 Welcome back and hopefully the border can open very soon!
DId you guys do this anti-clockwise?
Yeah, we went out to Lake Adelaide first and came back on the main trail. Good way to do it we think 👌
Great video - very entertaining. Don't worry about the view - I love cloud and mist, and what you shot was nice. Plus, now you know you have to go back, right? LOL 😜 Lesson #10 - get a mic rat, was hard to hear what you're saying there in the wind... 🤔 Anyways, I liked it enough to 👍 and I subbed. Will enjoy watching some more of your vids soon. Cheers
Tha ks for the nice comment! Yeah we had a great time out there as always! Haha yeah the old GoPro sounds isn't so great that's for sure. Awesome to hear 👌 hope you enjoy our latest vids once we get them finished 😬

The Red Bellied Black Snake was more likely than not a Lowland Copperhead. Copperheads are often mistaken for Red Bellied Blacks. There are only three snake varieties in Tasmania, Tiger Snakes, Copperheads and White-lipped snake - all venomous
Yeah I'd say you are definitely correct. we learnt that afterwards. We are from NSW and red belly's are everywhere so that is my go to when I see a snake 😂😂
Amazing vlog. Keep up the good work man.
Thank you, it means a lot 😊
