That was my first time causing contact with another car so I pulled in and self-reported to black flag, they said "what contact? " I should have stayed out! Lesson learned!

The 00 tried to avoid me around the outside. We made glancing contact. When getting going again he spun the tires and when they gripped on the asphalt the jolt broke the transmission. That lap I was on for possibly a high :53!

No doubt. These tires warm up quickly too. In my Sat Cat national qual I spent the first lap behind a slow prod car and I didn't get enough temp in the tires so the next flying lap was terrible and I went off a few times.

SCCA has a list of private driver schools that they will acknowledge for credit towards your full competition license. MSR Huston is one that is able to get you a full competition license right away. The racing schools hosted by the scca regions, for mine it was Thursday night classroom discussion and Friday 5 on track sessions. Once that was completed, that Saturday and Sunday was a regional race weekend I raced in. That counted as 1 of the 3 minimum regional races needed to aquire a full competition license.

Regarding the restrictor plate, it's best to have your car fully prepared because if you pass the school you'll want to cross over to the race weekend which will require that you are gcr compliant. @@jwickert3 Thank you for your response. That's very helpful. I live in Illinois and Blackhawk Farms is one of the closest tracks that I go to learn my car. Yes, I'll make sure to be fully gcr compliant before the driver's school.

That's the Osmo Action Camera 1. I like Osmo better than my Go Pro Hero 7 Silver because you can manually adjust the exposure settings as I have done in this video. Since the interior of my car is so dark the outside is overexposed and you cannot see anything even when using spot metering on a GoPro. You can't find the Osmo Action 1 any more and the 2 was weird but the 3 seems to have everything like the 1.

That's the Osmo Action 1 camera. It's not the latest version which I like because I can manually change the aperture settings to limit the amount of light into the camera which helps with overexposure.

Driver was just fine and believe it or not the car wasn't hurt too bad. Left fender was dented in that was popped out the bumper has some scuffs and the hood has some small dents. After we got home we checked the setup and the setup specs were exactly the same! car was back racing a few weeks later.

Upon initial turn in the car didn't bite and turn like I expected so I lifted to try and shift some weight forward to get more grip. When that didn't work I desperately tried to drive through what was going to be a rough ride. Inexperience mostly.

I pushed the brake pedal so hard that I bent a brake pad lol!

@@jwickert3 thanks for your response. I have been going to Road America for probably 30 years and I don't want to watch and more I want to get involved. I joined SCCA today and paid my regional dues. I don't live far from you so I'm close to Black Hawk farms and im checking out a track day My uncle was a corner worker there in the late 70's. Thanks for what ever you can do for me.

Lol, yeah he did. He apologized to me since it's my car lol! He'd be fixing it regardless of driver so I don't mind. His top 3/5 variance % was low so I was impressed!

Hi Robert, there is a minimum age of 14-17 with parental consent. At that age the racer should have a considerable amount of karting experience. Otherwise 18 and older. www.scca.com/pages/i-want-to-road-race
