    Koe is worse with Sluchinski. Koe can't beat anyone. So he may as well join Gushue next. Gushue can fire Walker and Nichols next and bring over Karrick Martin as well. ROFL. Dissolve the SCAM called the Grand Slam tour. Its a waste of time. I won't pay a penny for those scam streams either.

    I think Gushue and Nichols will both retire from playing after the 2026 Olympics. Getting Bottcher was the goal to win another World's and try for another Olympic gold. It is their last shot.. Bottcher also would like a World's and Olympic Gold and this is his best bet to get there. Gushue is a pretty controlling guy (even Nichols and he parted ways for two years as they had a few issues) so hopefully he and Bottcher can work together. It will show on the ice how well the team is meshing. Harnden did have issues at both the Brier and the World's this year, although he is probably one of the best brushers out there.

    This is very helpful. I'm on a team of 4 completely new players, and somehow have been elected skip (although we will likely rotate at times). But after my first match, I realized that I need more exposure to different situations, and this video highlights alot of the initial options, and will hopefully allow me to control things better (i mean, we're new, so our shots don't exactly go where we want.... but still.... as we get better it will be more applicable). Thanks!

  • @GregMcNeish
    @GregMcNeish 2 месяца назад

    Fantastic video. I'm a second year player and a first year skip (in my club's novice league), and I feel I've gotten a decent understanding of the basics of strategy (thanks in no small part to this channel). This sort of advice is exactly what I needed, as my level of curling involves at least as many misses as it does makes. I got my name on the novice trophy last season as a second, and I intend to get it again this year at top billing (lead and vice from that team are my second and vice this season).

    Unreal how rules don’t apply to Gushue or Homan. Rules are changed to accommodate them. Give me a break. Time to look at curling teams that work within the rules. Cry baby wants to go to Olympics regardless if they are the best or not. I am not impressed.

    • @hungrylion8703
      @hungrylion8703 2 месяца назад

      Koe didn't want anything to do with him, why would Gushue and Nichol? Gushue never made this decision. The notion that this skinny dude is going to hit the weights to sweep is a total joke. Nichol gets an instant demotion having to do the heavy lifting that Harnden used to....and Bottcher can throw a hissy fit on day 1 demanding to be skip and what the hell is Gushue going to do? Any bad outcome before the trials would lead to loss of sponsorship and Gushue dissolving the team and his career. Just imagine Geoff Walker having to deal with this skip who doesn't want anything to do with being a lowly 2nd. Communication was the key Gushue advantage now its down the drain. Every missed shot by Bottcher will be explained away be Gushue putting the broom in the wrong place. This "team" is now a bunch of individuals with no common ground.

  • @hungrylion8703
    @hungrylion8703 2 месяца назад

    Blah blah blah...curling is bankrupt like the rest of the "country". Bottcher and Gushue and Nichols are now in direct competition with each other. Remember how Jacobs was the 3rd for Carruthers then was promoted to skip almost immediately? Bottcher is a skip only just as Jacobs is a skip. There is no possibility of demotion to 2nd for either Bottcher or Gushue.

    Adam Casey makes no sense. I don't think he is even curling competitively in the past few years. I can only imagine he is a temporary substitute for pan american. Could call it a tryout but he must have connections to money as well because he wasn't all that good when he was playing with Gushue previously. Proves that nobody really ever leaves curling. There is nowhere else to go. How long before David Mathers resurfaces? I think Gauthier will join Gushue for only 1 reason: Money for Gushue. I bet his mother has influence to get gov money cash infusion and thats why Koe selected him in the first place. He's not that great of a player IMO. Now Gushue wants some gov money too from Cathy Gauthier. He can drop sonny boy at the end of the year and choose almost anyone for next year in time for the trials. The only reason EJ Harnden signed off on the press release is that he is getting paid for the rest of the year if he played nice. Gauthier probably got a small cheque and thats why he mouthed off. There will be more bombshells. Dunstone has fallen big time and Scott Howards new team is a complete disaster. Wouldn't surprise me if Jacobs team is not exactly getting along either. Gallant could be in trouble there. Brad Jacobs is in way over his head. He doesn't have it anymore. Team Carruthers is another accident waiting to happen. Schneider can't play third and Reid is washed up. Its all about the international pressure and canadian curling is in a panic.

    • @hungrylion8703
      @hungrylion8703 3 месяца назад

      Brad Thiessen is another possibility I forget to mention. Remember nobody ever leaves curling. Look at Pat Simmons. Still hanging around curling. I don't think skips like Gushue make any personnel decisions. They are owned by the controllers of the sponsors and the slams etc. They just send down the order for a firing and thats that. I doubt any of these players actually get along with each other because of that. Numbers on a spreadsheet. Look at the price of gold in the past few years. Currency is junk. And curling is primarily a TV sport and I bet sportsnet and etc will bugger off after the next olympics. They will try to sell streams. Look at what they did with the last slam just last week. All the games are available are available on ytoob without commentary. I don't think any of the players have an exit strategy. Curling on the resume. Nobody will care. Gushues recent MBA diploma aint worth a penny.

    I mostly don't like that we'll be using this for league play this year, but as a skip, I also can't wait to enforce it. Removing an opponent's stone while maintaining a nice center guard is amazing. #MakeGuardsGreatAgain #MGGA

    EJ Harnden gone from Gushue Expect Jacobs to drop Gallant. Expect Dunstone to dissolve. Expect Howard to dissolve. Could see Ryan Harnden join Jacobs Scott Howard will just retire, nobody wants to play with him. Gallant will rejoin Gushue to supercharge Walker. Bottcher and Dunstone might form superteam with Karrick Martin and the second from Dunstone. Nobody wants to play for Koe anymore. He will retire.

    A video about taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes would be helpful. Especially for people newer to curling who may not end up playing through these scenarios due to poor shot placement or unorthodox strategy in general. Knowing how to play well against a weak opponent is important in all sports.
