Yep there is another EVAC PVC that controls pressure dealing with fuel tank vapour - your point is semantics with the Rocker Cover Vent Valve name - It vents fumes back to inlet manifold what activates it; vacuum at the top or pressure at the base or both I will leave to the design engineers at Opel/Vauxhall to slug out. The point of the video was to give an overview of why it's there, what function it has and the effects of a defective 'valve'

The rocker cover PCV is a common problem, as I said in the video I would change the whole rocker cover it's difficult to just replace the rocker cover PCV correctly it's a false economy. Relatively easy test for that using a Multimeter

The resistor shown had indeed failed I repaired it's connections, however, you can see from the wiring diagram that the fan will come on at full speed when triggered irrespective of the resistor

@DoToGetIt with that being said a bad resister ain't the fault of a radiator fan not spinning at all.

The Corsa's do run hot they are designed to do so. You would expect 90-110 degrees C, so your car might be running a little hot, but then again, is the temperature gauge accurate? If the car is running fine and the temperature warning light does not come on, I wouldn't worry too much. Hi, it could well be a fault with the Throttle Position Sensor you may need to buy a new one they are a sealed unit that can't really be worked on. I started my video with the point that the wiring on the LXR is really poor - very thin wires very poor connections. Before I bought a new Throttle Position Sensor I would definitely be checking every wire and connection a small bit of green corrosion would easily cause a resistance and thus volt drop. Best advice I can give you good luck.

Agreed, IMHO it's a poor design

The slotted holes are basically the vent holes from lower crankcase taking fumes up to the rocker cover passing via these holes in the cylinder head, if there is a lot of oily gunge in these slots it's probably thick old oil from lack of previous servicing. You may want to flush the engine i.e. run the car until it's hot then drain the oil and put in fresh oil. It's a tad expensive but worth a go. If it's done a lot of miles 80k plus then consider taking the sump off and clean it out, no gasket is needed just silicone sealant. removing the sump isn't a difficult job.

The initial root problem was a motherboard that was shorted out this obviously must have also damaged the WiFi and Sound switch that caused the complete failure to power on. After replacing the motherboard (I tried 2 to be sure) I found once I had disconnected the CMOS battery and the Main battery the laptop would power on after about 20 seconds but neither the keyboard or the screen worked. I found that if I plugged in a USB Keyboard and a VGA screen via the VGA graphics outlet they did work so I could see that the laptop motherboard was working fine. After that by a process of elimination I found that if I disconnected the ribbon cable to the WiFi and Sound switch and left it disconnected the laptop worked just fine. Crazy fault I know, I just decided to not bother with the WiFi and Sound switch since everything else worked just fine.
