The Great Journey to overlanding in my 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands has begun! Get ready to see films from around the West coast as well as the occasional vlog.
Arizona Bronco's Club Trail Run & Saguaro Lake Overlanding In My Custom Bronco Sport Badlands
As usual, better late than never right? Finally finished this video documenting my second ever overlanding trip! I started my day with another go at the Ruby's Newbies run with the Arizona Broncos club, and then finished with a relaxing camp spot at Saguaro Lake! I was nervous about attempting the trail to get to the lake again. I have done it once before and felt like I was pushing my car to the limits.. Well turns out inexperience and bad driving lines on obstacles was the cause of that. I definitely handled this trail much better this time! So sit back relax and join me on a reflection of this fun day wheeling with friends and family!

Sit back and relax while you watch a full movie of my entire trip in Moab, Utah! I went to the Bronco Off-Roadeo in December 2023. After six months, I finally finished working on the videos I filmed while on my trip! I had over 8 hours of footage across four days and four different cameras. There was a lot to go over! However, I hope you enjoy this video of the highlights of my trip and a look ...

Now that we had completed the Bronco Off-Roadeo course, it was time to put what we learned to the test! Connor, Jared, and I where going to do a solo run on the same trail that were at the day before. We had decided to do Dome Plateau again to do a direct comparison between how my mods change the capability of my car vs the stock Bronco Sports we had used at Off-Roadeo! I was also excited to gr...

JURASSIC PARK: THE RIDE (CLOSED) FINAL TRAILER!

JURASSIC PARK: THE RIDE (CLOSED) FINAL TRAILER!
Did you customize this bronco sport or was it already custom when you bought it?
To be fair, you nailed. I personally enjoy the OG because I felt it had a bit more continuity. The remake felt a bit more scattered. In the OG you seem to slowly travel up that hill looking at everything as you ascend. The remake had you popping around the battlefield a bit more. Just a stylistic observation. I still think you nailed it.
Where did you purchase the exterior back window mollie panels for the rotopax system?
The back window molle panel is made by Yucca MFG for their roof rack! It is called the zombie guard! Great add on for style and utility! yuccamfg.com/collections/all-products/products/bronco-sport-zombie-guards?variant=42158092681384
surprised by the little bronco they don’t get enough credit we just did the rolls this past weekend down to the coves not bad at all
Saguaro Lake trip,, there a couple Beaches "Up the Lake",,,, takes some Wheeling to get into. I remember doing this trip first time in my '84 Toyota Extra Cab. buddies LandCruiser. yeah,, road tweren't any easier, nice to see it hasn't gotten better. fun ride. The Rolls are my Test Ground. grew up North Mesa, off the river bottom. heading out there under the Four Peaks puts a new rig under some good tests. and not terribly far away to call in Rescue should I smuck up.
So sad knowing how much has been burned out there.
It’s very sad seeing how many fires are all over the area! You could see the flames and smoke across the lake about a month ago.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is a vey good off road club. I drive a Jeep and have never seen anyone hand out flyers that will help out the newbies. Very well organized - except for the constant blaring of the handheld radio. Off roaders should invest in a vehicle mounted GMRS radio setup(like the Midland MXT series) with external antenna so that you can get further distant with communications and better reception as well. Be careful with the water splashing - if water gets into the intake that engine is done. It looks fun until the engine gets hydrolocked.
That was an extreme rarity with the radio he was actually having an issue with the radio itself but we tell most people to come out and see if you like it before investing into stuff like radios
Another excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it!
Not sure what lift you got on the bronco, but I think you might benefit from the 2.5 in lift from HRG. I think it’s the biggest (and safest) lift on the market for the sport. It looks reaaaallyy good. I got the 1.75 lift from Fordrangerlift. Wish I woulda went with the 2.5 lift from HRG but the ranger lift still gives it a great stance
The ranger making a comeback in the next video 🤠
Can’t wait to finish the next video and share it! The shots from the last time the full crew was out are coming out so good!
SWEET! We had two teams to make this. The Stan Winston team creating the characters and ours creating the entire 40 foot by 40 foot diorama with mountains, buildings, tanks, explosions, etc. Our team was the same group that did the Dark Knight Batmobile and garbage truck crash scene (45 people for 4 months). The death of Dr. Xavier in one of the earlier X-men films. The death scene for Iron Monger in Iron Man (BIG real explosion in the desert). The killing of Jet Li in The Mummy Dragon Emperor, and the killing of most of Brenden Frasier's terra Cotta warrior enemies (I got filmed by James Cameron's company Digital Domain, doing full size kills of his enemies with real broadswords. My hands and sword added to his body.) One of my leads was the Mount Mordor lead for Lord of the Rings. For the HALO campaign, we had an insane set with several hundred characters on it so walking was fun! But since I sculpted most of the detailed rock faces we had learned to walk on areas that were less detailed. At the 45 second mark I got to help position Master Chief with the bad guy on my own sculpture as it was near nuts walking anywhere near the super packed field. I think there was a character every five inches in every direction for that final shot. It is super cool to see this. I see a lot of my personal work in the original. Plus many parts I assisted others with.
😮😮😮😮
Hi, You mentioned that you have a club in Arizona. I'm from West Phoenix (83rd Ave and Lower Buckeye). I own a 2023 BS Badlands, and I have been looking for a group like yours in the area to share moments and make memories while offroading. Does the group open to new members? Where and when did the group meet? Thanks,
Going in November. Can't wait
Did you add a lift kit to mount those tires?
We were lucky enough to do the off Roadeo in the Sport snd Full Size the same weekend in Moab. Watching these videos brings back awesome memories my wife and I got to share together. The Moab office and instructors were great. Arizona Broncos for the win!
I've had a 2001 Land Rover Discovery for the past 20 years and I've been over a lot of those trails. I want to say I really love the looks of the Bronco Sport and I'm impressed by it's capabilities. I know it's really a crossover but I'll be honest, my Disco has taken me over and through some really gnarly terrain but most of the time I'm just lugging around a heavy rig with an antiquated old gas guzzling pushrod V8. I love it but in my old age I might just want to downsize into something more practical and that Badlands Sport could be the ticket.
Thanks for the content! I have a 2021 Big Bend and looking to add new A/T tires with a 1.5 lift as well. Keep the videos coming brother.
Good job on that ledge @9:00 mark
How did the 3cylinder handle the trails?
Dustin - nice work!! Enjoyed the well done voice overs, editing, pace - a good balance really with everything. As a Moab local - unless you went to the right church, grew up here, and have family/friends among the nepotism based business relationships = you'll never make anywhere remotely enough to afford a new Bronco - even if you're a person that shows up early - never misses a day - and is a merit based hard working type - they just burn people out until they kick rocks elsewhere... so "us people" that don't tow the line end up "just" hiking to those destinations. So it was cool to see one I have been to - thing about Moab - the more time you spend here - the more it sucks you in and you find even more places you want to see over and over at different times of year - different lighting - sunrise vs. sunset vs. winter snow... Someday I hope to own a Bronco or even a basic "stupid" Tacoma - for now - my $45 pair of Sketchers will work!! Let me know next time you're in Moab and I'll do some drone shots!!
That baby bronco looking nice what tire and rim size are those?
Would love to see a video on what you’ve done to it man! I too live in AZ and currently own a mustang, but have been contemplating getting a bronco sport as a comfy daily driver but to weekend warrior some cool trails near sedona/flagstaff
Very awesome footage !
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
Just got mine 🎉
Awesome video !
Thank you very much!
Great cinematography. Fun truck. I have a 22 badlands. Love it. My only mods are K02s. After owning a heavily modded WRX, I think my modding days are behind me. But I wish I could fit your wheels and tires.
Just commented on part 1, and now watched part 2. I am only adding 30" tires, and hope that would be tall enough to do some minor off-roading along with only a 1 1/2 inch lift. The thing I really like about your ride, is the full-size spare on the back. Can any Bronco Sport get something like that done, or is that a custom built thing? Also, your molly panels on the small back windows look pretty cool! Enjoyed the video again; look forward to watching more of your vids in the future!
I really enjoyed watching your video! I do not currently own a Bronco, but my wife has been wishing for one the last few years. I finally talked her into; someday getting a "sport" and not the larger Bronco, while explaining that she would never really use the large Bronco for it's overall purpose, and that we would save about 30K, and lastly; I just think it would be cooler to fix up (slightly mod) a Sport when I buy her one "Someday". Little does she know, 'someday' is about 2 weeks from now. I plan on buying one around the 22nd of this month, and she loves the heritage editions, so I am thinking about getting her the Red/White one, or the Black/white one and surprising her with it. I already have an appointment on the 23rd to get a 1.5" lift, spacers, and some Falken aw4's put on it. I hope that we will get the "Moab Pass" thingy with the purchase. I know that the engine is smaller than the Badlands, and also it prob. don't have that "trail assist" thingy, but it would be cool to go on the trail you went on, along with the free class. Neither of us have true "off-road" experience (unless you count me driving humvee's or 5 tons through the Saudi/Iraq deserts over 30 years ago LOL). I would love to hear any advice you could give with other "mods" that I could do to her new Bronco, that would make it even cooler than it should already look! Happy to be your *New Sub **#447* , look forward to watching part 2 now! 😁
Forged website still doesnt offer the high clearance bumpers :(
Baja Forged just made the mods for a show car to capitalize on the initial popularity of the BS and promote their other product lines, but they didn't want to lead the way on creating a modding community and risking that investment. So everything they made went nowhere, unfortunately. Of course, if you are friends with a fab shop, you can always just make your own bumpers. It's just pipes that are mandrel bent and welded with a sheet of aluminum to cover up the ugly bits. It would end up being a lot cheaper to pay a shop to make something than it would be to purchase one. And you could make what you want with lighting tabs where you want them.
@@Feintgames thanks for the reply! That makes sense, alot of risk for little reward. I'll definitely look for fab shops in my area
I've been looking into these bronco sports. Definitely liking them more and more. Do you have a build list for yours? Looks badass man
Amazing content brotha!
This was a really great video - way to go. Build is awesome!
Great video. I hope I can get by with no mods to my BS. But your mods all look good.
I just want your bumpers...and exhaust...and lift... lol
Well good news for you! Even though my exhaust was a prototype build by borla, I do believe since then they have come out with a system for retail that is the same or similar to mine! Same for the lift! Even though the Icon coil over and reservoir kit is a prototype build, there might be similar kits that are available on the market! Try Ford Ranger Lifts for a 2+ inch suspension kit! As for the bumpers... Sorry, those are one off and do not exist at the moment! Unless you can weld and fabricate something to look similar that is 😂
@dustinwjohnson the kit i used is a rough country 2 inch lift for the ford maverick. It required some shims on the front strut and larger spacers in the rear trailing arms to fit correctly, but between that and the 30 inch tire i have just over 11 inches of ground clearance. Lost a little bit of clearance from the jcr offroad skid plates, otherwise it would be almost a full 12 inches
Oh nice! I have not heard of someone using a 2 inch lift for the Maverick apposed to getting a Bronco Sport Specific lift! Sounds like it is giving a good amount of clearance though! What trim Sport do you have?
@@dustinwjohnson the big bend model
wish i could share a photo of the winch ready bumper i made for mine
What size of tires are you running on the bronco sport?
His entire build list is in the video description. 265/65 R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
@@jamescross1989 awesome thanks do the tires rub at all with that size off-roading?
Im running a 245/70r17 currently abd just got the new luft on mine. Wish i could head out to moab tho
There is no rubbing when on or off-road! However, with my custom bumpers there was definitely a lot of cutting that had to be done to accommodate them. They probably would be rubbing on a stock Sport!
Nice! What lift did you go with? And if you ever have a chance to go to Moab for Off-Roading, I highly recommend it! There are some beautiful views out there!
You paid money for that? At least now you can attend the Cosplay Fauxverland Expo next year!
I take it you do not think the trail was that difficult?
I agree with Jared, the mac and cheese looks bomb. Haha. Nice vid!!
The catered meal was definitely bomb after a long day out on the trail! Thanks Tyson, I appreciate it!
Great video! What’s that attic net you got above the rear seat row?
Thank you! I can not find the exact listing for it, but I had got this triangle cargo net on amazon! It was about $14 I think, cheap but effect for storing jackets and blankets when camping!
I had no idea this was even a thing when purchasing a bronco. We just bought a 2024 sport badlands. Did you have to ask the instructors if you could record the process?
Yes! If you decide to go, I highly recommend finding a Off-Roadeo course that represents the terrain similar to where you live! Also, I did not ask, I just started filming and they never said I couldn’t 😂
@@dustinwjohnson we will go to Moab since we live in AZ!
I live in AZ as well, that was one of the big reasons I chose to go to Moab too!
Thanks for the video. I've added this trip to our list. Also, thanks for the mods list we are outfitting our badlands asap.
Thank you for producing this content. The video has no right being done so well.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the kind words!
Niceee video!! Where did you get the mount for the spare tire??
Thank you very much! The mount for the spare tire is the hitchgate solo high clearance by Wilco Offroad! Easy install right in to your hitch! wilcooffroad.com/collections/hitchgates/products/hitchgate-solo?variant=40038623969467
Where did you get that bumper from
The bumpers were one off custom builds by Baja Forged! They were prototype builds for SEMA 2021
Dude, your mods on your Bronco Sport are beautiful. So rugged looking and the lift is perfect.
Thank you! I really appreciate it! I have more mods on the way too! If you like this, just wait and see what else I have on the way!
The light bar and the color are junk.
What is your Wheel and Tire Set up?
I have 17x8.5-inch Method Race Wheels MR502 Wheels with 265/65 R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on!
@@dustinwjohnson Hey! I have a big bend right now, getting a 2 in lift added on and i'm looking at tires atm. Looking at 245/65/17 tires. Did you have to do any cutting to get 265/65/17s on?
Bro tell us what bumpers those are
Do they do trail rides in January or February ? I ill be there with my Bronco Sport Badlands.
