Another ironic fact about this game: Jim Joyce is from Toledo and attended BGSU. He more than likely grew up a Tigers fan, as Toledo has long been linked to the Tigers due to its close proximity to Detroit and being home to their AAA team, the Mud Hens. You have to think he also received the wrath from his friends back home for this blowing this call.

Just to play devil’s advocate here… When Miggy fields the ground ball to his side, he sort of hesitates to throw to first. Not excusing Joyce here, but had Cabrera thrown to first a split second sooner, the play is obviously an out.

My son made the winning touchdown and to be honest had a lot of college opportunity . He was from the school district that transferred him in ninth grade. He plays freshman sophomore Junior Senior, my eyes number one running back. He never doubted his ability. He loved the school and teammates he played for to be honest with you . He has become a great young man because of that school and the friends and family members. They loved him and treated him like there own .

The difference in your school and the school that go Yo state on a regular basis. The kids believe . And with out any outside interference . Kids work gardening in the off season. I a transferred my son to a school that had a better education program . He played football . I told him up front . You’ll never play college football get you cant play here . He ok. I get it

I was at this game. My friend Jen Strobl got tickets from her boss, Kirk Gibson. What a stadium this was. Saw so many games there.

Terrible defense both teams, nobody reads their keys or sticks with the guy they are playing man on.

Jim Joyce’s conduct after the game though should be commended. He said he got it wrong and apologized. He was always respected as one of MLB’s better umps. Just a really bad mistake. But good on Jim for owning up to it and showing class.

Shugars didn't loosen rohns defense up, he needed to pass it more,#8 was getting his ass busted up out there running it.. I've seen quite a few state titles lost because of the same exact type of playcalling, running the star player to nowhere when the defense has his number... Gotta mix it up and throw the ball to keep the defense honest. This is why traverse city Central lost.
