Dylon Falls Off The Trail At Post Canyon!
Just ordered mine! I can't wait!
So people dont mind so much the Ebikes in post canyon?
Not at all! You'll see many people riding them now.
That was a good watch and has now convinced me as to what I am now going to get Thanks buddy Bazz uk
Been there so many times but never did Shutes.
I was there that weekend. Did three runs and bailed out, rain start to dump pretty good.
Creek gap in the rain=no thanks
@@joshhas99problems Dude, Steven, John and Morgan killed in the rain. As you can see, I did not lol!
@ to be fair Rocky Point is SUPER slippery when wet, I just avoid it this time of year haha
I’ve played with the idea of getting an E-MTB since a couple of my friends got Trek Rail 9.8. I went to their website and saw they didn’t make a frame to fit my height (6’-7”). Since I’m a stubborn old man (67, soon to be 68) I found the bike your purchased. I watched a ton of videos and read as much as I could. I ordered the bike last week and should be here later this coming week. It’s been maybe a little over 7 years since I’ve been on a bike of any kind since getting a replacement hip and 2 knees. Not too concerned since I have 3 motorcycle and ride almost every week. Some offroad and others on the street. Looking forward to a new chapter of my life.
Which one did you end up buying?
@ I chose the Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Alloy size S6. If Trek would have made a frame to accommodate my 6’-7” size I probably would have gone with mainly because that’s the bike my off-road motorcycle buddies have. I’ve also known them 40+ years so I really trust their opinion.
@@danarussell4246 turbo levo comp is actually much better I think. Great choice! I’ve used both and I don’t know why but the levo just feels nicer to ride. Smoother and does everything the trek would do.
Hi! Funny thing about your video: My wife and I are from Quebec (Montreal area) and we were at Sandy Ridge on September 21. The white Sprinter that you see at the very end of your video (17:32) is mine! A few days later, we rode Alsea Falls and on Sept 27, we did Post Canyon. I really enjoy your videos! Keep it up!!!
The "You OK brother?" was the most calming voice ever. You should do voiceover work my guy
Hahaha thank you! To be honest I would love to do voiceover work
The way Dylon fell off the fish ladder 🤣glad he’s ok! So coming from someone who broke 7 bones on the fish ladder but later successfully tackled it… it’s not that bad. On an e-bike just take a pedal stroke into it after you turn and pop a bit and you’re home free. You guys got this
God dammit, thank you for the words of encouragement. I was SO close to sending it.
Sorry but that motor housing size is not something I can look past lol
Poor Dylon. Rough day at the mountain
5.09 is gorgeous!
I am sold, I’m starting the saving process. This bike is extremely expensive. It’s fall right now so I will save through the winter and buy one in spring.
Sick! I just went last Friday for the first time. Rain dumped on me. Middle schools lips are steep lol
I agree lol. Middle school still scares me because I'm thinking I'm going too fast coming up to the lips
@@skuzzymtb6606 Yeah when in actuality you need like 2x the speed. You loose so much from the behind to the end of the jump lol Going again this Saturday
That’s crazy! I’ve never been to posty so I youtubed it and was only watching your videos and then I end up seeing you guys there Saturday but had no clue until this 😂 thank for the clips! Really helped me out before going
What! Small world! We ride all over Oregon so I'm sure we'll see you shredding somewhere soon haha
Been planing a stop over at Post canyon. . By past Portland for a good ride. for 2days , before I stop in West Linn to see the grand boys....But instead,I am sitting here with a Partial dilocated shoulder. 23 3/4 for the third time. Proof us old fu##ks don't bounce like we used too.
Oh no that's rough, sorry to hear! When you're healed up you have to check out Post Canyon. It's worth the drive every time.
It becomes soooo slick in the winter and wet. Rad video.
Thank you! And you're right. This was the sweet spot, right before the heavy rains come in and make it too difficult to ride.
I crashed on that same jump the other person did on little monkey.
Looks like a fun ride boys!
I was looking into ebikes I am such a miserable climber, but stopped when I learned that no King County bike parks allowed them. Does Duthie allow them? If so, might have to be back on the table. How do you guys like yours and which ones do you have?
@@rhuynh Yes Duthie allows EBikes. Obviously I’m a little biased but I believe everyone should have an EBike. I own a Specialized Turbo Levo Alloy Comp. My friend Dylon owns a Canyon Spectral (I forgot the model) You should check out Canyon, they’re having an EBike sale right now.
Epic riding
@@unconventional_health Thank you! This is one of our favorite trails.
Brilliant bikes
This place looks sick. This is the place by hood river right?
It's fucking amazing. Yes, you're right.
@@skuzzymtb6606 Gonna check this place out soon. I’m used to dry and rock this this would be a nice change lol
@@Darianshemali Great to hear, you're going to love it! If it is your first time, make sure you park at Family Man Staging Area. That is right in the middle of the mountain and a great place to start.
You boys hit Johnny Royale yet?
You're going to think we're cowards but god damn, johnny royale is so scary! We haven't hit it properly yet
@@skuzzymtb6606 not cowards at all…there’s a few in there that I have yet to attempt lol
@@skuzzymtb6606 if you guys haven’t been down to Carpenters Bypass yet you should check it out, haven’t seen a video of you guys there yet. Hit Parade is a fun little jump line to warm up on, Y2K is fun, the gift is the big boy jumpline and it’s a blast, also ride Ode to Joy while you’re there. And do yourselves a favor and stop at Toxic Burger to eat on the way home ✌🏻✌🏽✌🏿
@@joshhas99problems lol there is a massive jump right after a sweeping berm that we just can't comprehend
How much elevation gain and distance was there in the ride you guys did? Did you record it as a strava ride? If so can you give me the link please?
Unfortunately I don’t have Strava. We always ride with our Apple Watches and it records all of that information. Next time we’re there I’ll try to get that info.
@@skuzzymtb6606 cool, thanks man
hi, how can I tell if it is gen 2 or gen 3? I ordered a bike recently, I think it was 23 years old, but not exactly
Just recently got into MTB and this is my home trail! Learning on a sketchy cheap hardtail haha. Makes for some fun air but terrifying rattles
Hardtails are a great time!
Good stuff! How long is the climb up?
If you're on a traditional bike I would say it's about 45 minutes to an hour climb. But if you're in good shape (unlike me) it could be 30 min or less.
@@skuzzymtb6606 cool thanks. I’ll have to check it out sometime.
1400-1500ft vert, I would say a solid hour, just did it last week.
@ Cool, thanks. Similar to Galbraith then.
Dang you got some sick trails
They are so good!
i go here everyday with my friends and we can hit almost every trail. we live 2 minuites away :D
Oh man, you are lucky to live so close to Duthie. It is a great place to ride and we can't wait to go back!
The black Tacoma in front of your car is mine.
Hahaha what? No way! What a small world!
I personally don't really like upper highballer. Lower is way more fun!
We totally agree. Upper highballer kinda sucks, but lower highballer is where it's at!
Dang that looks fun.
Some of the best times you can have on a bike.
I was looking at places that allow E-Bikes in the Portland area as I'm looking to move to the area; Are people tolerant despite trailforks only highlighting a few specific areas? Any insight would be appreciated!
Great question! You will be happily surprised to know that almost every trail system around here allows E-Bikes. The only one that I can think of off of the top of my head that doesn't allow E-Bikes is Yacolt. These trails allow E-Bikes: Post Canyon, Sandy Ridge, Blackrock, Klutchy Creek, Alsea Falls, LL Stub Stewart.
@@skuzzymtb6606 Thank you for taking the time to reply! Thats great news, Do you also know if Rocky point is EMTB friendly? For local rides that'd be amazing if so. Great content and loving the look of the Portland area trails :)
@@joshuarg89 I just searched all over their website and trailforks. I do not see anything saying no EBikes. So I believe you're good to go!
@@skuzzymtb6606 Thank you so much for your help; I'll hit you up to go for a ride should I end up in the area!
Next time you go Kyiv got to do flying squirrel it is soooooooooo fun
We may give it a try, I think we're going back there soon.
@@skuzzymtb6606 COOL
Where was your campsite located? Was it in klootchy?
This campsite is in the Tillamook State Forest and it's called Beaver Eddy Campground. First come first serve site, it's awesome.
Where was your site located? Was it in klootchy?
Question, how are the 'bike parks' that are nearby if you've visited them? (Timberline BP and Ski bowl BP)
@@FlowFinderUSA I’ll be honest, I haven’t ridden any of the bike parks here. I know some friends that ride there, and it seems alright. I think the trails around the state offer more than the bike parks.
Gotcha 👍 You know, after watching this. I think this place may be the first stop and then PC. The flow is real!
@@FlowFinderUSA You'll love it. It's worth the climb to the top! And you can't beat the fact that the climb is paved road all the way up 🤘
@skuzzymtb6606 ain't nothing but a thing on the E! Yeah, those runs appeared to last forever.
Trails were closed last fall because of forest fires. We are driving westward again in September, (fromQuebec) hopefully we’ll be able to ride there…
@@jeanbellemare1903 I remember that! We couldn’t ride during that time either. I hope you guys make it out this season. It’s riding SO well.
Black Rock's climb is rough, and they know it. It has 3 benches for sitting on the way up. Lol
In the past, I have used all 3 of those benches! lol
Have you modified anything on your bike? What E-Bike does your wife ride?
The only thing I've changed on my turbo levo are the handle bars and tires. Everything else is stock. My wife rides a Kona Remote 130 E Bike
I did the shuttle day on Sunday. It was my first time there and I got 4 full runs in. Phenomenal trail system and so much fun. I’ll probably be back in September for another shuttle day. Maybe I’ll see you out there!
4 full runs in nuts! Alsea is so good you definitely should come back. I will most likely be there too
First!!
✌️
At the end of dueces there are two rocks in a line and if you want a little extra air ride over them and pull your front up
Your lucky man. Those woods look beautiful and u have a dope E-bike too
You’re right. We are lucky to have such incredible places to ride in the Pacific Northwest
I love being able to see people ride the same trails as I do! How do you like the one up carbon bar? It’s the next upgrade I’m considering.
Isn't it wild to see the same places you ride on camera? Personally I really enjoy the One Up Carbon Bar, I feel that it has done a great job soaking up the harsh impacts. Reccomend!
nice rip, can't wait to get down there and check it out1
Thank you! Yeah man, give it a ride before it gets too hot and dusty
Wow those trails are like as smooth as a pump track lol they look so fun and chilled
They've done so much work and smoothed out all of the trails. You have to be careful, Bad Motor and Grand Prix run so fast.
i know you guys have e bikes but what's the climb like for us analog folks? is it worth going if you don't have a shuttle?
Post has multiple spots to park, bottom, mid and toward the top. Climb trials are really nice. I'd recommend parking at the family man stagging area and climb up elberado. Use trail forks for navigation
What Jeremy said is right. If you're not afraid of climbing you'll do just fine at Post Canyon solo. Will it kick your butt? Sure, but you'll never be dissappointed you did. Let me know if you have any other questions!
