1950's Reclaimed Counter Top Guitar Build
I built this guitar from a counter top I pulled out of an old kitchen reno I was involved with. Tons of fun! If you're interested in having me make one for you shoot me a message and I'll see what I can do! The body design is uniquely my own. The chrome body moulding adds a touch of that "Retro Diner" feel. I sometimes refer to this design as the "Table Top". The matching toaster amp is also a cool little touch.
Because I make this guitar in other variations (not always with the chrome trim and laminate top) I'm looking suggestions for a model name. So if you've got an idea for a cool name for this body style please share it. I'll mention it in an upcoming video and give a shout out. Thank...

1940's Vintage Radio to Bass Amp Conversion
Просмотров 6163 года назад
I re-purposed this non-working old radio into a functional bass guitar amplifier. A fun little project that took just under 24 hours. Please like and subscribe (that's what I'm told is a good thing to ask people to do). If there's an idea you have for something you might like to see me make or re-purpose leave a comment. Thanks!

Another video from " You Don't Know Dick TV" Have you ever thought... hmmm, let's see... I've got this old toaster...wonder what I could make with it? Here's what I did with an old toaster and a mini guitar amplifier. This video and content are purely for entertainment purposes. I had to make this one up as I went along. A fun little project. Enjoy. :) Dick Music by: DJ Warkentin
Build this guitar stand for under $5 !!!

Have you ever wanted to build a guitar stand but didn't know how? That's because you don't know Dick! Watch this instructional video as Dick explains the process of how to build a collapsible guitar stand for less than $5! Music by: DJ (Dick) Warkentin
Thank you, the best project!
Nice stand Dick! Simple easy to follow instructions..What’s not to love?? Need a bunch of these so I can photograph an extensive collection of about 60-70 guitars.. Best get busy.. Thank you!! Say goodnight Dick 😅
But the tools will cost me 1500 dollars!
Big Thanks, from the UK!
I'm assuming the tube amp inside wasn't working? Some have an RCA aux input and sound great as-is. Although it sounds pretty great now, too. I would have also taken the opportunity to add a larger speaker.
I have seen a similar stand that has one step on the bottom support to hold a thinner solid body electric guitar, and the full width stop holds a thicker full sized acoustic.
PS, nice to meet you. Now I do know Dick! :-)
Love the details! But I think it's quite heavy?
No it was actually quiet light with the guts removed. Less than 20 lbs.
nice done and looks ok for cello
Not only don't I know Dick, but I don't have a scrap of 1x6, and compound miter saw or a biscuit joiner... I guess I'm SOL...
I'll be making one of these for my Martin Road Series. Great video!
That is so cool! 😎👍🎸
😎👍🎸
Hahaa
One of the coolest DIY projects I have ever seen!!! 😃 It definitely inspires me to try something like this myself!! Marvellous work of craftsmanship!!! Best greetings from Northern Italy! 😊
Shame this build didn't get more views. Don't let this channel go down like a one-hit wonder!
Oddly enough I just bought the exact same way radio to built into a guitar amp….
I don't know Dick just as much as you don't know Jack Schitt.
Megusta mucho la simpleza, de Argentina saludos.
You’re awesome. Guitar looks good and it sounds fantastic.
This is just awesome, so simple, fun and easy to make....directions were well thought out and planed....made two in one afternoon for gifts thanks so much for sharing. As a note, I used pocket holes to connect the back brace and foot...seems to work well...(I did put wood plugs in to cover the holes made by the jig)
Make it wooden with the help of the Woodglut instructions.
Nice Guitar-Stand. But, Still, All your tools and What have yous is more than $5.
Beautiful Job!
I remember that kitchen table!!!
<3
Soooo Cooool, is it 4 sale? $???. Love it
Hi Dick, nice work!! May i ask you the width of the initial piece of wood? Is the thickness 1 + 1/6" (or 3 cm)? Thanks and again great job!
I know Dick....wait🤔😂..... How ya doin pal ???? That was great, really Dick!!!! You deserve a show for all the right reasons!
Hey Paul!!! Nice to hear from you!
Wow, great job! Love the data plate touch and aging the new panel turned out great.
Very creative! On a side note, there was nothing tastier than 1940s asbestos infused toast.
Amazing!
Really fantastic!
Incredible!
Looks real nifty Dick. Great job. Your videos are very professional.
That sounds pretty awesome Dick. Sounds like its got its own reverb thing going on in the toaster. And that guitar...is that your own build?
Thanks!! Yes that’s my own build.
Great teaching. Will get on this project this weekend.
Let me know how it goes.:)
Nice
Best DIY Guitar Stand I've ever seen! Thank you.
Great job with the instructions
Many thanks! Very good instruction video!
I built one. It cost me about $8:50 Aussie - it's perfect. Thank you Dick.
You’re most certainly welcome David! :)
You're such a Dick!! I love it!
i sure dont know dick
DJ, you are one of the wackiest, most creative guys I know! This is great. (Have a bit of time on your hands, too, eh? LOL)
Totally love it!
$5... First I have to buy all the tools you used :D $5000
@Jetronaattori IDIOT..............................IDIOT.........!!!!!!
If you are going be like that, then just buy cheap tools, go to a hardware store and buy a cheap handsaw and a $20 drill, you can get the same results.
If I'm gonna buy 4500 € tools, why would I buy $25 tools?
He used a sliding compound miter saw and a biscuit joiner, which he said you could replace with a drill, and some clamps. You could get the saw, drill, and clamps for less than $500, an order of magnitude less than estimated. He just didn’t use many tools here. And if you don’t have a basic drill already I can’t imagine why you are watching DIY videos about woodworking as if you actually expect to make the stuff.
Great Video!! Thanks
Good Video. Well done. Already planning to make a few!
At 9:20 minute mark, when it collapses.the wood isn't touching flat, likely because of the hinge. Maybe a felt in between would give it a together collapsed feel.
Great video Dick. I would love to make a stand like this for under $5 but I don't have a compound mitre saw. Any hints or tricks on how best to do this with a hand saw or jig saw? Also, I would like to make this stand to put my Larrivée acoustic on, but it has proven to be prone to cracking in situations with variable humidity, so I actually hesitate to display it on a stand like this. Would you have any tips in such a situation?
@Clinton Skibitzky Dont put it on a stand like this ! Use one more suitable to your Larrivée acoustic AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
