A brilliant band so underrated... Takes me back to an amazing time in my life..
Go on dad!
C'mon, this needs to be on Spotify already!
indimenticabili..........ANIMAL nightlife..........
Very Matt Bianco this fine track
Oh I forgot to say I love this & I grew up in the '80s.
First time I heard this tonight thanks to Tony Blackburn on BBC radio 2.
Still love it!
Amazing!
Going through a box of seven's from my shed and this was in the box I picked up, some how I can remember getting into these guys through my love to, The style council,, brilliant 👍👍👍
Big Sound Authority were the Chicory Tip of the eighties. The guy on the guitar is trying way to hard spoiling this performance
the good ol 80s always come thru wit bangers
UTFT
Best wishes for the future 😂😅😂❤❤😢😅
I freaking love this kind of music.
A blast from the past ☺️☺️ still an excellent song.
Never heard of this song, nice , groovy
Is this DC Lee?
Yep that's D C Lee in her prime
@@davidw5647😂
Found this group via Paul Weller mumbling Billy Chapman from Animal Nightlife as the featured sax player on The whole point of no return by Style Council. Had to listen to him over & over trying to get the name right. Google did the rest.
Amazing to think that Martin Jackson was the original drummer for post-punk band, Magazine.
I can't believe u forgot about this 😔
my uncle Martin Wilson was the bass player
That's great. I absolutely love this song and their big hit This House Is Where Your Love Stands as well as some of the other tracks on their album. I am 52 and still love the eighties and think it remains a shame BSA did not go on to further success. Julie Hadwen's voice is excellent. I often watch the TOTP performance and it is clear the band give it their all, making the most of their moment. I sometimes wonder what became of bands who experienced success and then it faded away. I hope your uncle is doing well and proud of his musical accomplishments with BSA from a time that now seems so long ago but lives on due to the quality and innovation of so much of the music. Please pass on my best wishes to your uncle.
Thank you so much before they were big sound authority in the early days around 1978 they were called the directions a mod band there best hits were 3 bands tonight and 9n the train 🚉 with my girl my uncle had big raw witn thr management in 1981 he left the band they spilt up I'm 1982 the management wonted them to be a new romantics band like Duran Duran thats why my uncle left and in 1984 big sound authority was formed and Julie had the voice ever like Amy Winehouse
@@trevorwilliams7279 Interesting. What did he do after BSA split up and did he remain in the music industry? No need to say if you do not wish to, I understand.
@@eightiesmusic1984 after they spilt up half the band reformed as life unlimited had a few gigs between 1989 till 1990 time I saw them at mean fiddler harlesden after that lead singer Paul burke done his own thing
@@trevorwilliams7279 I see. The lead singer seemed to have been in charge or the driving force behind the direction of the band. I read somewhere that Julie Hadwen said your uncle and the drummer had both been very supportive to her over the years since the end of the band or words to this effect.
So underrated ….but glad I’ve found them again…..
So underrated ….but glad I’ve found them again…..
Julie Hadwen was so hot back then, and she had the voice to go with the looks. Why this song wasn't a hit is beyond me,the BSA should've been a household name.
One of those utter classics you never hear on the radio.
I had this 7" (record that is)
Did the actress in this appear in anything else?
These aren't even on Spotify - I need to dig my vinyl out just to listen
Sadly I didn't see the tube when SOS appeared on it... Looks like Corinne had a great time on this. Breakout still sounding fresh after all these years and will never sound outdated. Andrew Connell, Corinne Drewery and Martin Jackson have struck gold with this now 35 year old classic.
Niceee, sadly, it's not the full song
This song was a bit ahead of its time. If it was released about 3-4 years later when bands like Curiosity and Hue & Cry were dominating the charts it probably would have been the big hit it deserved to be. As it stands, this belongs in the 'Hidden Gem' category.
Totally. Brilliant song.
Don't know why I suddenly remembered this song, but it was on an old "Hits Video (VHS)" with a number of other songs from that time. I was just a kid at the time but this is one of the few that sticks out from what I can remember. I don't really know anything about this band but I remember the song.
Ooh, nice.
Thanx
I wanted this for nearly 40 years or a bit shorter
Shepherd's Bush Green 1985. A great song, a talented band and Julie Hadwen has a tremendous voice- it is a shame they did not enjoy further success. Arguably, they did not have any other songs of the calibre of This house is ( where your love stands) and this wonderful single. The footage of the homeless people on the green is moving- I wonder what became of them. Each one somebody's son or daughter. I used to work down the road from there in White City and knew the area well. I can still remember talking to homeless people on the green in 1995 when I was living down Wood Lane; I do not think we should ever walk on by from our fellow citizens. Shepherd's Bush had an edge to it, especially at night but I remember it well.
“Excuse me please” (?)
@@eightiesmusic1984 I might be missing the subtlety of your joke there but Excuse Me Please is maybe another good track by them ?
@@eightiesmusic1984 Not my comment was just trying to help
why there's no cd release for this album?
The bass is awesome. The bird isn’t bad either!
Love the song too xx
Hey Julie,I bet you’re still beautiful xx
Popular with the young mods this band
These were popular with Mod revivalists at the time, I have this single
Paul weller definitely had something to do with single I'm sure. either produced or backing vocals. bought it when it came out and remember his name check.
You may be thinking of Paul Waller who was the band's drummer 😉
Paul Weller did indeed provide backing vocals on this. His wife DC Lee also did backing vocals for the band. Must add that Cissy Houston, mother of Whitney even done a vocal arrangement on Preacher Preacher.
🦁🆒🏴☠️👏👏👏🥳👌👍🌬️🌪️💣🏴☠️🎳😁🥰
I watched this when it was on the Tube. Brilliant
Top tune, top singer!
