Designing Tentmaran Twinkle
The design of Tentmaran Twinkel 550 x 440. a !8 ft Different trimaran with no cabin but a solid structure from a much bigger spere to give it a strengt and good options for sun, wind, spray and rain screens. There is a lot of space on this only 18 ft trimaran and the floats can be disconnected from the frame to put it all on a trailer and tow it behind a small car. its a light trimaran for cruising bigger distances so the floats are bigger than normal to allow for more storage weight.

Arri how about a Dutch style qD mast mount and a stub mast to mount a parra kite sale steering rig to ... easier to stow ..faster and more fun.. plus Portugal already has the record for an Adlantic crossing by parra kite power.
Love the Kite... Was the first boat I started to build with wood epoxy.. still think it's great and you so right.. we will probably use it. It would, should be a small version on every boat as a emergency rig.
Looks beautiful!
Thank you👍😊
🏝️🌅🧙🏻♂️
🕺👍😉
Looks very nice. These beam design looks strong. Reminds me of the S frame of my old Toyota Hilux. Do you think to make such a frame from aluminium?
Hi Alfred thanks for your nice comment.. that's Al still an option.. can become carbon as well. cheaper in Aluminum
It is awesome. The most beautiful boat design I have ever seen.
Thank you so much for taking the time and letting us know.😊👍
The design leaves options for other rigs.. but we will start with this the more standard rig..
I love it
Thank you, we hope you follow it, do you sail?
This is amazing
Thanks we getting very happy with the looks and volume in the floats.. now working on the simple way to build it. Two Small moulds needed .
Oeps a big mistake in measure conversion. 5.48 is 18 ft.😮😅
proper rest will be an issue, so if there is no place to lie down comfortably then it may not be a fun thing.
There is 2.15m space on the net, benchs and the cockpit floor so depending on the boat angle there is choice to the best comfort
It will be very wet, even if you enclose the whole cockpit. It's one thing to be wet for 6-48 hours but you would be at sea for weeks at a time. Keeping it light will be vital, both in construction materials and the supplies you load it with. My 31' tri gets splashes at 8-10 kts, spray at 12 and a fire hose at 18. I'd cross oceans in it but it's not that comfortable and it is also very weight sensitive. It's very hard to take all you need without overloading it.
Thank you so much, I hope you stay on touch, your experience is of great value to me. Yes it's gone be wet. But Al the time? It's gone be a chalange.. and as you say the weight...the total weight is set for 600 kg. Leaving 200 spare and for counter balast water in the amas.
Looks great
Thanks appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment
Ari it's not a question of could you ...large as that question is it's more a case of should you mate 🤔 You have a life and you are no spring Chicken ... 😉given what we have seen happening with boats and weather over the past few weeks. I think you should think very carefully.. look at the Wharram channels Akiri and zigzag. There's an American guy whose sailed the world and even sailed the Gulf of Florida to the Keys on one of the small floats and net surf cats.. ..he's got a stoma. He did it but things got pretty hairy... but I know things got pretty hairy. I might see you traversing the Med sea with caution and luck but you really would need luck .. coasting Europe might be possible but still a heavy duty challenge. ⚓🇬🇧🧙🏻♂️
Thank you.. Ilets make it it's small it's every week a part done.. that's already good.. can always put it in a container.. but that's no fun.😊
Being in the ocean on a 16 foot boat sounds absolutely uncomfortable and not my idea of a good time, but that's why we're all different.. I'm excited to see your building of this.. I know you got rid of dawn but you still have twilight?? I know videos take alot of work but people such as myself really enjoy your video
Hi, We will see first finish the plans than build. But Med.. no worst seas I ever sailed. Did it 11 times to and from Croatia. So unpredictable.. no wind lots of wind an four different directions every day. After what we sailed most fun was solo small Twilight.. only 545 but 440 wide ande big ama's. Her speed in good conditions should help minimizing bad weater.. but it's always ..as the sea wants... We will see.. it might scare me when it's done and taken for tryouts
So excited. Now working on the step by step building parts.
Since I have been watching your videos, there is only one thing to say; "if anyone can do it, it's you!"
Thank you😊❤️😊
Like sailing a dinghy, so much more stress free than Dawn
Yes you do right..small is sooo much nicer
My vote is for two sailors facing up to a mermaid
Mmm, not sure of I understand that.. but I like the idea
Holy moly how rich are you?
Mmm that depends on your view.. as Bob Marley said it.. "Some people are so poor. Al they have is money,"
What a beautiful relationship
Thank you 😊
Those cast iron tredel -wheel stands are not light 😂 but excellent Wombling. 🧙🏻♂️🇬🇧
Yes the thing everyone used to have aswell!
missing the content guys loved you videos hunting for u for months just found these shorts , blessings to yous 🐻💙💯🙏
Thanks for hunting so far we are slowly heading back so keep your eyes open and we post when we can
I didn't realise that sewing machines were so much fun until I got one myself!
Yes can be very satisfying when you complete a project
🦋🦋🦋
👍 thank you
One of the best Sailing bits I remembered
Wow!!
I'd say it takes about 3 bottles of whiskey. 😄
Only three...wel it's wisky👍😊 there is never enough Rum😉
There is so much happening, this is just another part of the puzzle. Slowly we getting there, almost ready to work on Twilight to build our Tentmaran.😊😊
Beautiful!
Thank you😊😊
It was the whole compilation and awesome choice of music. The re-floating of any craft is a fantastic and enhancing gift.
wow, Thankyou :)
You welcome, 😊😊and deserve it.❤️😊
REAL SAILING CHANNEL¡¡¡ SHOULD USE AS A MODEL TO OTHERS STUPID SAILING CHANNELS OR TELENOVELA, WELL DONE , CHEERS FROM THE CARAIB ,
Thank you😊😊❤️😊
The Vitamin C paste sounds like it rinsed the surface well, probably because it has ascorbic acid in it instead of vinegar's acetic acid and that denatured the toxic proteins. The latest science says you should then apply hot packs or immerse the area in water at about 45°C (113°F) to cook the toxins injected into you.
Thanks for sharing that it's very helpful to know for us and others. There are reports of a lot on the Portuguese coast at the moment so that could be needed advice
@@tentmaran It seems they like warmer water, and the sea surface temperature has risen to be stable at around 16.5°C average for the month, so could be why there are more sightings now.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense 👍😊
Wow. Quite scary. Good to learn about the vitamine trick.
Hi, nice to see you found us again. Hope you well and your boat.😊👍
No scares left on my legs. No blisters the next day . The Maritime Captain on Floris Azores was amazed...I think it's becourse I put Vitamin C on it..
better looking boat than the 56 ft trimaran¿?¿?
We love our tri it's not everyones think but she's sleek and is all we need
Nice to see you back!
Hi Michael 👋 nice to see your comment. Hope you well.
I hope you noticed it's been so long. I forgot how to spell the name of my own trimaran. 😂❤
A beautiful morning start.
we miss you
It's taking time but we getting there and looking into an option for a nice livestream soon... Hugs from us
👍👍👍
Thanks for your nice thumbs up.. all the best to you .
A proper sowing machine repair and service shop.
Indeed. A man that loves fixing things.. friendly and fair.
@@tentmaran A rare find these days ... even in the far east and Aisia.
Indeed it's a real gem of a shop!
With good advice of our friend an Sail maker in Bembrige we invested in this Singer industrial machine. Finding this in Portugal for a very good price. In an awesome shop hidden away in the little streets of Olhao. The owner is brilliant , friendly and gives great service. Replaced all needed to make sure we have a good working machine..
That machine will last longer than you.. I've got a old singer that can be ran by your feet or it has a added on electric motor..
yes this is the same thing we have the engine but we will have the option of foot pedal if needed
what happened to the other main channel
Hi, a very good question.. The channel continues with this nieuwe name..it needs some explaining.. for that we need good pictures.. we always preferred Trimaran Twilight.. and are so happy to focus on her again.
@@tentmaran cant wait to see the update
many thanks thats very motivating
Adventures of an Old Seadog video from years ago has hunky dory in his video
Hi Ben 😊👍 Yes we know each other well Barry bought his boat in Alvor where I was.. he does not like my breakfasts.😉. I think you saw me sailing in Twilight as the "Silly Bugger" Not Hunky-Dory .
I know that you love trimarans but I could definitely see you 2 building a whamaran which are known for their simplicity and their strong ⛵️ abilities. Wildling Sailing is currently redoing a 42 ft whamaran that he bought near Amsterdam.. I could definitely see you, Cheryl and Camino Sailing the world on a whamaran..
You so right.. I only bought studies plans ones... From a Tiki 28. But after some time and Trimaran experience I decided to make my own trimaran version it gives a bigger center an more comfortable cockpit.. tent can be much lower wit standing head room. Each net is a double sleeping place it was Al many years ago but I am coming back to it now.
@tentmarantwilight I'm excited to see future videos.. I know that it's alot of hard work putting out content but it will definitely pay off.. I believe that if you start this new journey and building or improving your trimaran people will flock to your channel for the knowledge and expertise.
many thanks ben, we will continue as much as we can as always
