A few impressive tracks are a welcome addition to any "Best of VGM" compilation, though it is somewhat disappointing that in contrast to these few great tracks, the majority of the soundtrack is mere filler calibre. Junya Nakano as a composer seems much more comfortable working alongside other composers and contributing a few tracks here and there, and indeed some of his best work is found in this more supplemental capacity, Final Fantasy X for instance.

曲も完璧 ストーリーも完璧 キャラデザも完璧 ゲーム性も当時のゲームとしては十分レベル高い このゲームが今ひとつ知名度低い理由が本気でわからん。あの終わり方で結局続編も出なかったし…… 続編は一旦置いといて、スイッチでリメイク…は不安だからリマスターしてくれ……今の子達にもこの感動を伝えてくれ……
遺産の設定とかもよかだし、マジで続編でても良かったのではってレベルよな。

Ugh this is the game that started my love for RPGs. This is a rare gem and was very blessed to experience this at a young age. I can go on how this ost impacted my life, it gets me through the harder days.

I feel like at the least, this game should wind up on steam, it was so fun, so amusing, so enjoyable I've always enjoyed this game. There was never a time I wasn't happy to be playing this and I'd love to play it again. The ost has been so nostalgic to enjoy and listen to.
This game feels like a lost relic found in the sands of times past. Truly a runic and timeless ost.
I think back to playing it sometimes and it feels like some kind of fever dream. I don't think I've ever met anybody in real life who played it so easy to imagine my own memory as a kind of Mandela effect.
@@judeobscure5064 I had to buy two copies of this game used over time because the first one was just a disc with a rental sticker on it - the second was the whole package. Both cost me around $20 each time. Of course this was back in 2002-2004.
Fuckin just blows me away to this day; wow. Heavily impactful OST. I still love the PSX; what a special system and time.

My younger brother found this game hidden away in some old stuff we had packed up for years along with my old PS1. He asked about it and wanted to give it a try, so I cleaned both off and let him play it. He said despite it being as old as him and having bad graphics(compared to games nowadays), he actually enjoyed playing it.
I am really surprised this soundtrack even included the song used for the japanese commercials of the game. These unique arrange used in commercials, more often than not. End up being lost in the sands of time.
Listening to all these soundtracks again make me feels like I'm in heaven . Those were the good old days man...

This game is so underrated and deserves a remaster This video game made me fall in love with gaming and was the first game that blew my damn mind as a kid. The soundtrack, adventure and story is just amazing. This game helped me escape my troubled childhood and I want to thank the creator for making this game. This game always has and always will have a special place in my heart and will always be my favorite PS1.

If you're still wondering how to play it, ps emulators like epxse exists out there, a little troublesome to set up, but totally worth the hassle, since you get to keep your games permanently, without physical limitation since it's those iso/bin files you need to run games
I have been thinking of making a fan remake of this game for years, I've done some of the concept art for how they would look in my style and started working on 3D models with one of my friends who studied video game design but listening to this music again I'm reminded of how unique and beautiful this was in the original it would be so tough to replicate this.
I say go for it! I don’t see an actual remake coming any time soon.

Truthfully I'm working on my degree at the moment and have only really done some character sketches since I take a lot of inspiration in my art from squaresoft designs. If I decided to work on it as a small passion project it likely wouldn't be for another year but I really appreciate your reply and interest

There's something incredibly special about this soundtrack. It's just... perfect.
There is, there's something about this soundtrack that brings out emotion. Much like the Final Fantasy IX, X, VIII, VII and Chrono Cross soundtracks this one really hits me hard, it's hard to explain in words. Maybe it's just the fact that it brings back memories of times that we'll never get back.
