Oh my lord, I was delivering for Travis Perkins. To a farm just over the stream from where you filmed this footage. I was wondering why there was a load of blokes parked up next to each other in the middle of absolute no where. Great footage, wish I had got to see it when I was delivering

What days are best to witness this in your experience? Do they do low level training throughout the week or are there certain days where you’ve got a better chance of catching them doing it?

next time you have this great of a subject in front of you, shot horizontal....and watch the screen, not the subject!!! That way its in frame, not off to the side!!!

As ex British Army infantry I remember that acute approach angle nearing drop-off during rural tours of Op Banner. An RAF Wessex at the start of my career, then the AAC Lynx. Sides open. Wonderful feeling. The hot air of the interior. Your last creature comfort until exfil. Then scrambling on board after 6-8 hours later. Drenched. Your Bergens cutting into your blisters. No matter, you’re back in the care of AAC (Scout, Lynx) or RAF (Wessex, Puma). Flew in plenty of Chinooks during exercises (and on Op Corporate, post-hostilities, 1983). It was UK Armed Forces Day recently. I’m 63. If I was asked to speak to young people thinking of joining I’d say, if you really give it a go you’ll get once in a lifetime experiences. I had loads. Chopper airtime in so many different operational contexts being one of them.
