Thunderbirds Countdown Reimagined
A little personal project of mine. I remade the classic 1960s Thunderbirds intro in 3D.
This started when I wanted to reimagine the Thunderbird 2 miniature as a realistic-looking 3D vehicle. It was important to me to keep the original design the exact same but scale up the miniatures with more realistic weathering and details that inform how it might have been constructed in real life. I ended up making all 5 vehicles and naturally had to remake the iconic countdown intro for fun. The intro is inspired by the animated remake from 2015 but I wanted to do something more closely resembling the aesthetic of the 1960s one.

I watched Thunderbirds as a kid and still love the aesthetic of Thunderbird 2. This is a great animation. How long did it take?
