Yeah me too! I played it on Genesis the most as a kid but the GameBoy port is great! Seems more forgiving then all the other ports.

ha ha, i like this version lol. Maybe it's cause it's easier. I like you can continue against the final boss he's a pain in the ass and if you couldn't continue it barely gives you a chance to figure out a pattern. Seems like you can't avoid those rockets unless you run all the way back or they'll just follow you around til you're dead.

@@gamergames2687 Ironically, because both the player and the missiles move faster in the Genesis version, they are easier to dodge by running circles around them and are near-impossible to avoid when running directly away from them! In fact, any character in the Genesis version can solo the final boss, given the player knows the flaws to exploit. I don’t doubt there’s a way to do SX deathless. If not by abusing blind spots, then probably by using Zaemon’s Tornado or General’s flamethrower, like in other Arcade-similar versions.

@@Arial55555 Ah. You really know your stuff when it comes to this game! I don't think i ever got to the boss in the genesis version. I've gotten to the boss in the arcade on m.a.m.e but man so disappointing you only get one try lol. One of these days i will beat Gain Ground.

@@gamergames2687Well if you ever want to practice the final boss on Genesis, the level select code is “A C B C” on the options menu. Also, Hard difficulty will give you one of each character immediately, but removes all in-level hostages and take away your continues. Alternatively, if P2 is active, more in-game hostages will spawn, bumping your potential max party size from 30 to 45 in Normal mode. And it that ain’t enough, my videos are always there to teach nonsensical Gain Ground strategies and trivia. Good luck man!

​@@gamergames2687 He's probably only programed to attack while you're in a specific trigger area like the main corridor, which probably never included the parts behind and to the left of him because they never expected anyone to try and get back there before killing him. I've noticed it happen in similar circumstances on the Master System version too. Either that, or it took him too long to register you were bellow his Y-level again, and by the time he would've, you were gone. SX has always been one of the slower & easier Gain Ground games, if not the slowest/easiest, so I don't doubt it.

@@Arial55555 Yeah it's a fun game! i specifically like this version for the CD quality sound track but you're right it seems to be the easiest port maybe? He might of attacked me if i ran in front of him i didn't want to find out and lose my guy. Think all the dudes that throw the spears are the best choice for most of the areas. The long distance rocket guys serve their purposes sometimes too! The master system version was the first port of this i played funny you mention that lol

@@gamergames2687 I grew up on the Genesis version thanks to a Radica Plug & Play. I've also tried to play the Arcade original and the nearly-similar PS2 remake, but I suck at them due to them being the hardest versions with smarter & stronger enemies, stricter level timers, and an entirely different physics engine that throws off my instincts. I haven't had much time to try out Master System or SX (although I'd love to play the latter some day), but I still know a bit about them from videos I've watched. Most of my content on RUclips is Gain Ground focused- I always go looking around at the most recent Gain Ground videos to get new ideas and to learn new things for my videos. And yes, I agree- the Flintheads generally tend to be the meta, especially so in the Genesis version! But I try to play without resorting to using them for every scenario, to make things more interesting and to showcase the varriety, strategy, and replayability the game can offer!

@@Arial55555 Oh nice! I didn't know there was a PS2 remake too i gotta try that in the future! I own the genesis version in real life and I've been playing this game for years so far so i kinda know what i am doing and what guy i want to use. This particular video isn't my best play. At one point i get pissed i lost my viking guy and started running into enemies killing myself lol. I uploaded another try on this game which i did much better tonight lol.

Yeah i have 21 minutes of it. Looks complete. There WAS another copy of Cousin Kevin being sold by the same guy too but that was a early workprint. Unfortunately i went food shopping to think about the purchase and by the time i got home someone else bought it but i was lucky enough to buy this copy which seems to be the complete final version. Apparently this copy was stored in a storage locker for years and the locker itself was owned by someone who worked on Cousin Kevin back in the day. I'll take pictures of what the actual VHS looks like and add it to my upload but i DO plan on sharing the complete version tomorrow for 4/20! lol. I'll respond here again later to share the link

Just find the matching rom for the mame set or just play the old mame version that works with the roms you have. I HATE that shit though i have a raspberry pi i use as well and if i update my mame, games that were working don't work anymore :o( I never get a updated mame unless there's something i really want i have been using mame .245 build on PC since October 2022 i got a matching set. That's what i am using in this particular video. Hope you find the right rom set and fix the problem. Shouldn't be that hard to find a complete set of .262 mame roms. That's the most current set

@@gamergames2687 thanks! I’ll keep searching. I built a Mame arcade out of an old street fighter 2 cabinet maybe 15 years ago. Just decided to update last month. Haha most games work a lot better now days. Thanks for the feedback. 👍🏼👍🏼

@@Iloveyoutube11Nice! I love street fighter games or most fighting games. Yeah some games got great improvements since 15 years ago. That what sucks about downloading individual roms you never know what version of mame supports them. Certain roms i would have to download the game 3 or 4 times before i found the correct one that worked for me. Before i upgraded to .245, i used .152 set for maybe 10 years and I just use a X-Arcade tank stick on a PC i got on a black Friday sale one year to play my arcade games. I want to get the new model they got with the spinner added so you can play games like arkanoid and ikari warriors more accurately!

Yeah no problem there's more test animation on the VHS too from various movies like Great Mouse Detective, Lion King, and Rescuers Down Under. Plus on the VHS is the Fantasia 2000 super early workprint from 1992 i posted a clip from the Fantasia 2000 workprint on my channel if you wanna check that out too.

Ha ha thanks. I just download complete rom sets and play random stuff that seems interesting. I never played this before this video but it was a fun one. Only gripe i had is it seems like the music cut out half way through playing it so it might of been a problem with the rom.

Yeah it's fun. I have played on a gauntlet arcade cabinet a few times in my life growing up. I thought i could beat the game but it keeps going on and on lol. Only reason i stopped recording is cause i ran out of hard drive space lol

Yeah i bought a bootleg VHS on ebay. The VHS itself says director's cut but i think it's the TV Version of a director's cut possibly. Or just the TV Version. Sometimes they air unreleased director's cuts on TV before they officially release them so it's hard to pin point what exactly it is but it has alternate footage though.

Huh I remember that listing. Any chance you'd put the whole video onto somewhere like internet archive/way back machine? It's funny - there might be up to three different tv edits floating around. Got a recording where Donald Pleasance does voice overs of the diary text and his letter to Birack along with an additional exterior establishing shot before we see the Priest (without dialogue) speak to two cardinals by the fountain. Your tape is different from that or what's on the shout Blu ray.

Think I saw a version decades ago where they put some of the Brian tossing-and-turning-in-bed-its-a-dream inserts when Brian tries escaping out the side window.

I bought this on eBay. The story the guy who sold it to me said that his father was a garbage man in Malibu, California and i guess there's a bunch of people who work in Hollywood that live in that community but his dad would find stuff in the garbage or people would give him stuff and this was one of the things that was either thrown out or given to him.

Yeah i still don't know what to do lol. I just aimlessly wander around and try to live as long as possible before Jason kills all my guys. Honestly i wasn't feeling this game when i was recording it and why it's only one try. I was thinking of doing it 2 or 3 times but i like NOPE! If i could guess maybe it has something to do with the fireplaces being lit, and if they're lit Jason won't attack that house. lol

@@gamergames2687 The fireplaces only exist to help you get the torch or the flashlight if you want it, but the flashlight really isn’t needed and you can get the torch without lightning fireplaces. When you have the torch Jason’s health just melts away

Yeah I would of totally played this if it was released in united states as a kid. Might be my favorite ghost busters game with 2nd being the genesis ghost busters game.

Yeah this is pretty fun. I can see myself beating it one day since it has unlimited continues. The bosses look really good too. It gets kinda hard in the later levels. I got a bit further with save states after i stopped recording the video. Overall I'd give this game a 8.0 out of 10

Yeah. It's just like zombies ate my neighbors in terms of overhead game play and if you want to use the password and continue it's almost impossible to beat the level cause you don't have all your items or saved lives anymore lol. I tried continuing a day later using the password and i had no items and they only give you 2 lives. It's hard to kill enemies without taking at least one hit from them sometimes.

Yeah basically. I'd say after the 4th or 5th level unless you're super good. This the first time i got this far ever.. i normally die on the 3rd level lol. Super fun LJN game. I've only played the genesis port so far.

Yeah me too. This my favorite in the series, and I've beaten it multiple times. I first played it on the original xbox which was a plus cause you could listen to custom sound tracks like i am in this one. Then i double dipped and got it for the 360 as well when that came out. I still got my 360 copy til this day!

Yeah you're right but this is just temporary music they were using and had no plans on putting it in the actual theatrical release. It sounds kinda awkward when they cut to the end of the sound cause the opening credits are done lol

Yeah it was a fun play. Game was kinda short though. I liked how some of the menus reminded me of the Tales From The Crypt comics
