How to REBUILD/RESTORE single piston calipers!
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.Год назад
Welcome to the channel! In this video I show you how to rebuild some single piston calipers. From rusty garbage, to new again!
Great short! Question, where did you get the parts?
I got the kit from eBay!
@@G-BuiltProductions You the man brother! I saw your kit, but I couldn't find one for mine. I run a VQ engine, VQ37 to be exact in a G37. Idk why those Denso's were so hard to find parts for 😅 but Injector rehab had some good bits. More pricier than your setup but worth it for $40ish, given what the actual injectors themselves cost. Hoping to do the rebuild this weekend, girl crossed over 200k not long ago and never had this done, so should be interesting! Like your content btw!! 😁
What color was the orifice gold ? Mine came with 3. Black silver gold. i dont know which one to use
I believe mine was gold and it only came with one!
What repair kit did you use because I need to do this to my tl soon
I used a kit from oreillys! Got the bleeders and such separately from RockAuto, I will say I’d recommend just getting a kit from RockAuto being mindful that you get the correct kit
Where can i find that joint pipe?
From your local Acura dealer or a website that sells OEM parts, I got mine and most of my other OEM ACURA parts from Acurapartswarehouse.com
@@G-BuiltProductions thanks i just found it
If your going that far, just replace the damn injectors. I got Hitachi injectors made in Japan from rock auto. 30$ each. Come on guys lol
Not a bad option either but I did this for like $20 altogether so pretty good price difference. Also, I always prefer OEM injectors over anything aftermarket, no sense in replacing them if there isn’t anything wrong with them!
You will probably need 3 erasers toget the stickers off 21:49
I seen the obd1 jumper harness 19:17
Spark plug cap 15:30
It lives 14:50
The fuel rail and its pushing the injectors on the map 14:32
What year car and do you have obd1 jumper harness 14:16
I have acouple! I believe they’re all OBD2A to OBD1 though so that’d be 96-98!
All day bro 👍
Man the content is evolving! Editing is awesome! Enjoy the comedy here and there in it, plus the content it’s self! Keep it up man!! Look forward to hearing what was truly wrong with the H!
Thanks man I really appreciate it! I’ll get better as time comes, definitely stay tuned though got some cool stuff that I’m just about to start on!
Seeing the before and after was depressing lmao
Right? Haha SO GLAD you’re taking care of the rx7 instead of doing stuff like this 😂
Great video bro hate to see the coupe like this its heartbreaking😢
Thanks dude! Yeah she’s a goner now 😢
That looks like a fire hazard 🎉🤣🤣
Hahaha everything about that car is a hazard!
He definitely punished her 9:55
That he did 😅
Great video broski! It's crazy to see her like this but l'm glad I got to enjoy it and that the parts landed back in some good hands! Can't wait to see the tear down video and all the other great content coming soon!
Thanks dude I appreciate you!
@@G-BuiltProductions yessir 🤙🏼
A literal cracked out civic!!
Haha that it was!!
You’re not showing us how to do it, you’re showing us how you do it. Pin orientation in the connector housing is important-not shown. Crimping tool, or soldering on the pin itself? Nope, not shown. Details matter!
They matter for sure but they only go one way! Haha. And it’s just showing how to depin and repinning a connector not how to add a terminal or a pin. It’s also a short, but I do appreciate the constructive criticism I’ll get better! ❤️🩹 💪🏼
Mexico lol
😏😉
I drilled a couple holes in the original and it made a huge difference....
Solid work! you made it look relatively easy but I'm sure it's very time consuming. Have you ever done this work for anyone?
Is time consuming! If I had a sandblaster or something that’d probably make quick work of the prep process! No haven’t did work like this for people only myself at the moment, but that’s the plan!
Great video bro but could you tell me the part number for that old pipe joint the one you said not a lot of people change out
Thanks dude! And got you! Part No: 15150-P8A-A00 Joint Assy., Oil Pipe
Great review !
Thank you!
This would have came in handy yesterday while I pulled my hair out with the old injectors. I just bought new ones 🤦🏻♂️. Great video btw.
Thank you!
Do you think this job would fix a slight knock at idle? Goes away after 1k rpm Already has a new timing belt tensioner so it’s not that and already did valve adjustment too
MAYBE, but I doubt it. It could be just the oil pressure is real low from the leak if it’s bad but chances are if there’s a slight knock already there probably already some damage to the bearings. But it’s worth a try for sure! And also it’d be worth checking the tensioner again, even though it’s new these things are very prone to going bad prematurely ESPECIALLY if it’s aftermarket and not OEM. I did away with the auto tensioner all together and went with the P2R manual tensioner
You need to remove the timing belts to do this job ? Or were you removing it for another purpose ?
Yessir you’ll absolutely need to remove the timing belt to be able to remove the oil pump. But if you’re just the oil pan reseal then no you wouldn’t need to mess with the timing belt side of things at all.
@@G-BuiltProductions damn I see, I have a few leaks on mine and I’m not sure if I need to oil pump resealed. I do know that I am leaking oil from the oil pan. Only one way to find out huh 🤔 thank you 🙏🏾
Those came out SWEET! You make good videos, keep it up.
Thank you!!
Just got my mods for the Central Machinery Powder Coater today from Cycle Fab. They’re Awesome!!Thank You G Built for referring me to him. 👍
You’re welcome! Yeah these mods blew my mind on the difference they made! Thank you for supporting!
Couple questions: 1-What were you jacking on with the bottle jack (AC Mount)? 2- Did you disconnect the engine mounts to get the engine to lift that much? Great video BTW!
1. Yessir! I had the bottle jack positioned on the AC bracket. 2. Only the passenger side mount aswell all other mounts were left in place. Thank you i appreciate it!
Question for you. After I took off the oil filter housing to replace gaskets on my TL, the upper right longer bolt can't be tightened all the way down and it constantly rotates. The threads on the bolt looks fine without any damages . I cleaned the hole for the bolt on the oil pump with some break cleaner. Some plastic rubbery pieces came out of the hole but I don't see any threads inside. Do I need to replace the entire oil pump? Or there's something plastic or silicon stuff that can be inserted into the hold? So the longer bolt can be tightened down? Thanks.
If the longer bolt was put in the wrong hole it could have bottomed out and pulled the threads, but you should have been able to see that. There could be some Hondabond in the way of the bolt causing it to not fully catch threads, if its option 1 I believe the bolts pass through the oil pump so the pump would need to pulled and the bolt hole on the block would need to be thread repaired. You could try to lather the bolt in Hondabond or RTV if it’s leaking, to aid with that, or JB weld if you’re real desperate but these are both temporary fixes and will create a mess for you or whoever actually goes in to repair it whenever that time comes.
@@G-BuiltProductions Hadn't put the longer bolt in wrong holes. When I removed those three bolts, I had to use my breaker bar for they were so tight. There was a grey metal coil that is about half the length of the tread on the longer bolt when I removed it the second time because it didn't want to go all the way in. Even putting the coil on the bolt still makes the bolt spin. So far I haven't seen any oil leaks from the housing yet. But when it does, just to take off the oil pump and do thread repair seems a reasonable solution. Have never done any thread repairs. Do you think I can attempt it myself? Thanks again.
Where can I buy it?
Ebay! Go check out cycle fabs channel he has a link to his eBay in the description!
I need same job done on 2012 tl same job..oil pump & rear seal..
Still need to do my rear main seal! It’s leaking alittle. I need a clutch kit first though! The oil pump leak seems to be SUPER common on these cars!
How can i find this guy...
Where this guy located...i need that work done right now..
I’m located in the 336/276 area!
How much would it cost for a job like this? Thank you.
Honestly, depends on your location but I’d say it’d be an expensive service no doubt. Acura would give you a quote but I’d say it’d be upwards of $1,000 atleast, probably more. Considering at that time you’ll need all the timing belt parts aswell, it’d be best to time the service when getting the timing belt replaced.
@@G-BuiltProductions I got quoted $1600 for it … that’s including the oil pump, so hopefully they said the oil pump is fine and just the seal needs to be done so $1350. Aisin Timing belt kit.
@@1992kingcezar yeah that sounds about right, and yes I wouldn’t worry with the replacing the oil pump itsself. They don’t normally go out, just the seal seems to be what gives a issue which honestly the Hondabond and the o ring on the oil pump I believe is a bad design and that’s why it’s problematic in my opinion atleast. Good luck hope you get it resolved! If it’s not leaking too bad just add oil and check as needed until you can get it done. I ran mine for years while it was leaking.
These have a sick color to them. Which car you putting them on? TL?
Yessir on the TL-S! Thanks they came out alright!
must feel weird always walking around the camera to do your work/ reaching around. It been a problem?
Absolutely lol need a legit camera setup and a go pro and everything else! Haha
Where you put the o ring?
Where the regulator meets the rail, sorry I should have specified that lol
Great job. Where did you get the new seals?
Thank you! I got the actual seals from Oreillys, only because rockauto was out of stock at the time. Or you can get them directly from Honda/Acura, rest of the hardware was got through rockauto
Great job ❤
Great video as always the video does them no justice. They looked great on the TL. ❤️
Thanks bro! I appreciate it! Going to get into some COOL content here soon! So keep watching, maybe I’ll have some cool stuff to show you when you come back up!
I've got the notification Bell on ill stay tuned brother
Hell yeah another great restoration video!! Keep em coming bro!!
Thanks dude!
Those came out great!
Thank you!
U dont have to lower subframe any do u?
No you don’t! The subframe can stay in place!
Great video! What year TL? Did you have to take exhaust off? What were you lifting with the bottle jack?
07 Acura TL-S, and yes you’ll need to drop the j pipe and the bottle jack was on the engine holding it up since you’ll have to remove the passenger side motor mount
:😮:
Great video. Do you have any thoughts on the Idemitsu ATF H Plus for the 01-03 Acura TL-S?
I personally haven’t ran it, however IDEMITSU makes great stuff. I ran nothing but their premix for my old 89 13b Mazda rx7 I had. I’d still recommend Acura fluids since I haven’t had any issues with them!
what was the little black O-Ring for?
It’s used where the regulator mounts to the fuel rail!
@@G-BuiltProductions ahh ok! Thanks thanks forgot about that spot 🤣
