She took a torpedo from a Japanese submarine. In that attack the sun sank the USS Wasp (aircraft carrier and sank a destroyer as well as severely damaged the NC. Very successful sub attack
It's true and si crazy to think about. Years ago I watched this history series called Battle 360 and really makes you think out there in the middle of the ocean they could be coming from above or below you

It's so true it's hard to believe but it's something we don't always think about even on today's vessels what it truly takes to make it run , they truly are working ships
Been going aboard her since I was a little boy. I'm 62 now and still get a thrill out of seeing my lady.
I'm so glad I just got to go see her for my 1st time but I'm hoping I'll be going for many years to come

Absolutely my pleasure she is a great Battleship and the fact that it's over 80 years old and 60 of that as a museum is a testament to all involved in helping preserving her is Incredible...Thanks to all who help support our History
