It's always nice to hear another method that works for people. It can be tricky reinstalling the mirror. What we did was take a dremel and shave off a tiny bit of metal from one of those two pins on both sides of the spring. Even a little extra space seemed to help. We will have to try your method next time we get the chance.

I ground down the pins on the spring so it wouldn’t be to hard to install. I did this after breaking the console trying to put it in place. It was frustrating because I had just repaired it for the second time.After grinding down the pins I greased them also.

Hello, that is odd that it says Java. I did look up the VIN myself and I see what you're saying. The color code it gives next to it, however, is 274. If look for 274 in the color code chart at the end of the video it is in fact Palomino. Personally, I trust the color codes more than the names it gives because there were so many different names and colors. The names also vary based on country and year. So it is best to use the number and find the color from the chart.

What wouldn't open? You already installed a new mirror and it wouldn't open?

I got it to work. When it was installed into the visor, the cover wouldn’t open. So I messed around and the lever to activate the switch was hitting the backing, so I shaved it down with a razor so it can open now.

It's not required to remove the visors but it definitely is easier to work with if they are off.

Well, it is 6 months latter now and just ordered mine finally and was re watching the install video I am going to leave mine in the car I will let you know how things turn out when I get them installed

It fits S320, S420, and 500SEL that have the manual mirrors. Just make sure it has the home link and auto dim features. We have a mold made for the mirror without those features but our stock won't arrive for another 1-2 months.

​​@@BEGGARWOOD1 You have to give it a good pull once you have got it angled up over- you wont break anything. Watch the video he does it different to my video but it definitely works- the rod is not brittle plastic it flexes so not going to snap. I have done many of these👍

@@lostinthegrave7462 All you need to do is remove 2 screws where the sun visor attaches to the windshield header and the whole assembly comes out. Follow their instructions on mirror replacement and you're set.

Yes, this is the first step. The vanity mirror light gets the power from wiring through the visor itself. The small rod on the end of the sun visor (that attaches to sun visor clip) has an electrical connection that powers these lights. This sun visor clip has wiring that feeds from the dome light console above the rear view mirror.

Mushroom, parchment, beige, tan, and champignon are all the same color. They would be our "Mushroom/Tan" color option. Mercedes had a few different names for just about every color, which makes it confusing. Color code 265 is our mushroom for sure though. Cream beige is what we call "Shell" but it was also called sun yellow. When seen in person, it is not comparable to the mushroom color as it is much brighter. It also was an interior color for the R129, I don't believe there are any A124 models with this color interior.

We definitely have the sun visor mirrors and backing plates, they come in all OEM colors for R129. We have a video on how to install them on our channel here. As for the sun visors, we only have limited stock on our website in a few of the OEM colors. They are OEM sun visors, refurbished with our aftermarket vanity mirrors and trim caps.
