Good list, i really liked The Cold Steel series alot, My favorite Is Kai (Thank you translators) and cant wait for it to be Localized. In terms of the localized ones my fav is Daybreak 1. The calvard cast is my favorite of them all but loved the Erebonia cast as well, Dont Worry that CS4 is youe fav despite being Super decisive cause man Daybreak 2 is arguably more decisive and i love that game despite the rough 3rd act.

FFX is the best Final Fantasy and everyone knows it. Based list. I’ve only played VII & X tho tbf.

Excellent ranking my brother. FFX is my top ff game aswell followed by FFVII, then VIII, then IX. IX was so great until the final boss reveal, him coming from another planet, man that was dumb ass pull imo, yes its worst than the entire party of VIII being raised in the same orphanage. Also, completely agree XVI is dead last place, followed by XIII haha.

Really good ranking not gonna lie. I love the love for Cold Steel, mainly CS4. My only complaint with 4 is the change in the English dubs actors made the whole experience feel off, but other than that I agree. I have the most hours on CS4. But my #1 would be Reverie. I love Rean so much and Rev gave him such a good story and the Route idea just works so well. And the OST is amazing. The main menu theme is the best in the series.

My first time through, I liked 3 more than 4. On replay, I think 4 is my favorite. Lots of great moments to wrap up the entire series (half).

Happy New Year! I loved FF Rebirth but i havent played the original FF7 so that could be a big reason why. Persona 3 Reload was probably my number 2, followed by either Metaphor RF or Infinite Wealth. Overall 2024 was a really good year for games.

Lindblum from FF9 for sure has to be a top one for me. I also completely agree with the Night City pick. Might be the most finely crafted sci-fi RPG city of all time. It's like Gotham...it's a character unto itself.

One of the better lists I've seen, except XV should be in the bottom with XVI.

Proud that someone ranking the series has the courage to take the controversial stance that Cold Steel as a whole is more peak Trails than the earlier arcs. People don’t share this take enough. I think you can call either early or more recent Trails as the best in the series for different reasons, but Cold Steel gets way too much hate at times when it really can be the favorite part of the series for a lot of players.

I hate 16 so much. You’re getting a like just for that. Kinda weird to spend 1/3 runtime on the worst in the series when there are so many better games that you could gush about! Different list overall, nice to hear some refreshing takes on a few of these games.

For me the best game its a tie between cs3 and cs4 but I also think Rean is the goat so my opinion don't count

I just finished Daybreak today after I played the entire series this year, crazy how different ranking for these games can be. Anyways, here's mine: 1. Trails through Daybreak 2. Trails from Zero 3. Trails in the Sky SC 4. Trails of Cold Steel 3 5. Trails in the Sky 3rd 6. Trails into Reverie 7. Trails in the Sky FC 8. Trails of Cold Steel 9. Trails to Azure 10. Trails of Cold Steel 2 11. Trails of Cold Steel 4 I started Trails with the Sky trilogy and what I liked most about it was the grounded worldbuilding with less focus on "anime" stuff and Harem BS, so I was disappointed in the direction Azure and Cold Steel took. I still like them, but they focus too much on the supernatural, oh and I really hate the "Curse"

Great ranking. I really like you gave your opinions for each placement. Your play order is really weird... it's difficult to believe that you were able to wait after both CS1 and Sky FC to play their respective sequels. I look forward for an update after you play Daybreak 2 (and eventually Kai as well). The whole Legend of Heroes series deserves more recognition for what it accomplishes. There are other series that do a continuous plot, but Trails has managed to maintain it for a very long time (13 games in Japan now) and somehow, managed it to be consistent from beginning to the latest game.

Nice list! Personally, I'd put CS2 just a teeeeeeeny bit above CS4 for me, but I totally get most of your takes honestly.

I've been playing the games for the first time currently since March 2024 (just finished all Act III's of Reverie last night) My list so far would be: 1. Azure 2. Cold Steel IV 3. Cold Steel II 4. Sky the 3rd 5. Sky SC 6. Cold Steel III 7. Zero 8. Cold Steel I 9. Sky FC Not gonna rank Reverie cause I'm not done yet, but I'm thinking it's gonna be top 3. It's awesome so far.

The KH2 intro might be my favorite game intro of all time. Possibly beat by Final Fantasy X or a few other really strong contenders, but Twilight Town is absolutely up there in my top 3 starting towns, no question.

Some of my fondest ones are Ritardando and Tenuto Village from Eternal Sonata, and of course Cassardis from DD
