Well to each his own I guess. There is no uniform standard for a country. Some are freer than others, some are stricter. If Singaporeans love being told what to do and how to think (and I don't mean this as an insult nor am I saying that Singaporeans are stupid. In sense we're all told what to do by those who govern us) have at her. For me I certainly wouldn't want to live there. Visit there absolutely as I have twice already and am married to a Singaporean who lives in Canada who certainly would never want to live there again. It's a great country and a friendly people. We have free health care here and don't have to worry about going to the doctor and wondering if we have to pay for it upfront and housing is cheaper and we own our own home. No HDB flat but an actual home with a lawn and a backyard for only $70,000. Granted we live in a rural area but still.
