The reverse flash is and forever will be an important part of the flash’s story in all versions of him but there will be none more important or impactful as the season 1 reverse flash the Harrison wells version. Before we found out he was going to be the big bad of the season they let us now very early there was something more to this character something dark that no one could shake. Even with this very obvious fact about him I still cared about him. He said he never cared about anyone because they were not from his time that everything he showed was a act to get home but deep down I never believed that I believed there was a part of him that did truly care for Cisco, Ronnie, Caitlin, and even Barry beyond just using his speed. What he called “ the act” became real in a sense, that part of him I like to call the Harrison wells part of him even though he wasn’t actually a wells. That why even after all the twist and turns, the lies, and everything he did in that season I was a little sad with how thing ended like deep down I thought thing didn’t have to be this way. So in season 5 when we saw Thawne in prison about to die apart of me didn’t want to trust him after everything but apart of also wanted to believe him. The Wells part of him made me want to try and save him and believe he changed and wanted redemption even the smallest bit. In the end it ended up blowing up in my face and I had to learn the hard way that there was no part of him that could be redeemed. That it was all in fact a lie. That lesson and that mistake ended coming at the cost of loosing Nora. I don’t know maybe I’m a fool but at the end of the day this character is a combination of amazing writing coupled with Tom Cavanagh amazing acting made this character connect with and made me feel the way I did about him. P.s I know that it’s a show and these are fictional characters but I like to connect with these characters in this way so when stuff happens to the characters I can feel it 10 fold.
