I am a student studying MEng Civil Engineering with a keen interest in the latest developments in engineering. I wish to educate engineering students on various technical topics through tutorial videos which I hope to add over this academic year.
Please give any feedback you so wish, I will be delighted to hear from you!
I also have my own website, please see the link below:

A brief intoduction into the plastic analysis of steel beams. NOTE: I made a mistake, apologies. Where I labelled "a" on the last graph was incorrect, it should have been at the top, where the line levels out. This is shown by "plastic hinge forms in this region".
Excavations and Earth Pressure Part 2

Continues from part 2, describing the distribution of active pressure in saturated clay.

A brief introduction explaining the imbalance of forces caused when making a vertical cut
Can you please do the pile capacity sand & clay? Your work is greatly appreciated!
After 25 years as a P.Eng., I finally understand why we can design based on plastic analysis.
Amazing explanation. Your diagrams are super helpful. Thank you for taking the time to present this.
The subtle differences between US and UK (?) geotechnical engineering are interesting. It’s more than just a swap of units unbelievably!
I found this very useful, thank you.
Very nice. Thank you
🤦 where are the rest parts,
Your video was so helpful. please, can you upload part 3 and 4?
Your videos are nice. Still I couldn't understand the triangular shape of pressure diagrams.. Tension on top is - ve and comp at bottom is + ve..
Highly informative.. thanks for the upload
thank 's mr micheal clapham for this explanation

Hi bro. Can i get ur email? I hv questions to ask. Pls help me.
Good day sir. If I may ask, what kind of free vibration is this problem?
Awesome thank you
did you take a n value off the chart at 0.05 not 0.5?
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much , very brief and effective.
great explanation too simple with the example
Was this method using Eurocode 7 methods?
at 9:20 you take the av. vertical effective stress as the vertical stress over 2. However, so far i've seen it as the vertical effective stress - pore water pressure in geotech, why did you divide by 2 and not use this method?
This video is underrated. Should be booming in views like khan academy
Amazing video sir
Thanks
Thanks a lot for your tributes
There is wrong in the solution ( n = 0.5 ) not 0.05 , you took it 0.05 in the chart and it must be 0.5
Eyvallah brother. you taught better us than our teacher.
sir, Nc value for stiff clay is what?
i cant find the exact value in google
Exactly what I wanted to know...thank you!🤓
Hey man do you have the fadums chart? so I can print it
thank you so much, this made a lot more sense than my review book!
best explained and easy to learn
Very brief and lucid explanation.Thankyou.
Hi , I am doing a pier foundation for solar array. I designed the pier for front and back post of the array. The back post taking more horizontal reaction than front post, so my back post pier is deeper than front. Is there any relation to increase the front pier couple of feet and reduce the back one.?
Thank you My teacher
May I ask how do you draw the BMD for the one-fixed-end-and-two-pinned-ends example? Just found that there are too many unknowns when I tried to solve it.
Kindly upload video regarding circular foundation induced stresses
Need part 2 🤦♂️
Awesome on Fadum's chart
speed 1.5 saves life otherwise it is not possible to follow you
When does the factor of safety kick in. The ultimate load already has a factor of safety of 1.5 times the service load. Do i need to use factor of safety a second time? Or is ultimate load enough for practical use?
hey thank you !
Great video . Can you please help me understand how to choose B and L ? I’m a little bit confused
B is the base of rectangle(width) (m=B/z) , L is the Length- the longest side (n=L/z)
They are interchangeable. Doesnt matter which one you choose
Thank youuuu for this sir!
Part three - PLEASE...:))
Thanks
Thanks!
Showing bending diagram over realistic model was awesome. Thank you !
i can calculate vertical stress at one point or point of interest but how can i draw pressure bulp diagram for circular footing i googled that but i can get procedure only for point load. if any books are there means which book i refer....please help me in this......
Hey. Is Boussinesq Chart the same as Fadum's chart? Because what my chart is a little bit different from yours.
