It's not about elitism. The dub version is cool and all, don't get me wrong. But the original has meaning beyond the words. The heriatic chant is a lost part of Atem's past. The fact that he could now remember It and pronunce it correctly is proof of both his memories coming back and his powers as the pharaoh. Also, not being able to understand it adds mysticism to the chant, giving It a very ominous and dark aura, whitch fits both the god cards and Atem's history.

Both versions are powerful af! English is the alpha because you can understand wtf is happening and it’s unbelievable. But the Japanese version was the omega. The ancient egyptain tongue was majestic, and a slap in the face realization that this isn’t Yami or the “Unnamed Pharaoh”. This is King Atem, son of King Aknamkanon!
As iconic as Exodia, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician and such are, the Egyptian God Cards are the best thing about Yu-Gi-Oh, it's always pure hype when they're in play and the music which plays in both the English and Japanese versions always makes for an epic spectacle.

I think that’s because Khemet is not Marik’s native language, so he pronounce it with accent. But it is Atem’s native language, so he’s fluent.
