POV: The Hike to Cerro de la Gloria | Argentina’s Hill of Heroes & Independence
In this video, we took a hike up Cerro de la Gloria to dive into Mendoza’s history up close. Along the way, we soaked in stunning views of the Andes Mountains and Mendoza city. At the top, we explored the Monument to the Army of the Andes, a tribute to General San Martín and Argentina’s fight for independence.

Awesome vid Laila!!
Is there a difference between a local price vs a gringo price like we see in southeast asia?
@@sophie6540 There’s no such thing as a “gringo price” vs a local price when buying property in Argentina. That said, foreigners might have to pay a few extra fees in pesos for some of the required paperwork. Feel free to Whatsapp Mel if you have more questions +54 9 2613 64-7927
Is people from mendoza very close to make new friends?
Yes, locals are pretty friendly, but they might take a bit of time to warm up, especially with newcomers. Once they get to know you, though, they’re welcoming!
We are thinking about relocating over there and my husband is originally from Mendoza and hasn’t been there in a long time. Thanks for such a really great video! We appreciate it so much.

Hello. I saw one of your posts saying you gave birth in Argentina and now you're a citizen. I am planning on doing the same thing. Would love to know your whole process and the timeline. BTW, I am in BsAs now !
Hey! Yes, the process to obtain citizenship through birth in Argentina is relatively straightforward. I’d be happy to share more details on a video in the future. Welcome to Argentina!
@@CavernSaga Thank you ! Just another small question. How long after your birth did you all get your passports. Thank you
I'm looking at moving my family out of the US. I have settled on Argentina. How easy is it to become citizens?

If I come to Argentina on a student visa to learn Spanish and stay in a hostel, how much will it cost me there? can I afford my living and food expenses to work there part or full time ? pls pls reply it will help me a lot and this is my life turning point.
Hi! It’s advisable for foreigners to work online instead because the salary in Argentina is very low. You can definitely come here to learn Spanish by the way

be aware that it's a very corrupted society and govt, u will need a lot of cash for bribery, u can get scammed and or robbed any time, even argentinia ppl know them as garca city
So as Vietnam, Philippines, India, Colombia, etc. Since I’ve lived in Vietnam for 2 years, there are SO many scams and bribery which I have experienced personally (and other friends) that I have not YET encountered in Argentina.
@CavernSaga I met an argentinia girl from Mendoza, she suffered torture and abuse at school sponsored by the family courts. very sad situation, she doesn't want to come back there 🤕🤒😭😢... we haven't got this situation in Belgium
Lol...randomly going paragliding isnt exactly recommended 😂😂
That’s true 😂 but not all cities have these option
how about visas
I made a quick video here: ruclips.net/user/shortsQZpdI-61BZE
Esa información está desactualizada. Ahora inicio 2025 no es favorable el cambio hay deflación y la Argentina es cara en dólares. Ya no puedes adquirir lo mismo que hace un año atrás.
Eso es cierto, por eso se publicó el video el año pasado.
I am from the US and thinking about moving to either the Philippines or Argentina so this maybe a good question to ask you. Which country do you think is best with a budget of about USD1,600 x month? I was thinking the Philippines because of how far the dollar goes but since I speak Spanish as well I would consider Argentina.
Hey Michelle, I’d say the Philippines might be the better choice right now. Inflation there is pretty stable, around 5.8% in 2024, so your money will stretch much further. On the other hand, Argentina is a bit chaotic when it comes to finances. With an annual inflation rate of 193%, prices are constantly going up, so it’s tough to stick to a budget. So, why not enjoy the island vibes and lively city life in the Philippines for now? When Argentina (hopefully) calms down, you can always dive into its Latin European charm later on😄
Hi! Last year, Argentina addressed the major issues contributing to inflation: fiscal deficit and money printing. Inflation dropped from 118% in 2024 to a projected 20% in 2025. By 2026, the inflation rate is expected to align with that of countries like the US, and then even lower.

Hi, I am Rahmatullah from Bangladesh.
Hello!
What pills are you on Lady??? Milei is our president y prices are thru the roofs!!!
I had a question if it’s okay. I noticed the rent costs seem pretty fair and cheap in Mendoza but food and clothing prices seem high. I checked Numbeo for the stats. Is it really expensive there? Also could $2100 per month usd be enough to live comfortably?
Of course, it’s okay to ask! You're absolutely right-rent in Mendoza city specifically is still affordable, but it has definitely gone up in recent years. Dining out and clothing are pricey, so most people shop abroad sometimes to get the best deals and items they can't find in Mendoza. As for $2,100 per month USD-yeah, that’s more than enough to live comfortably here. You could cover rent, utilities, groceries, and still have room for eating out, activities, and exploring as a solo/couple with low maintenance.
@ I am very low maintenance with the exception of food. I won’t eat what I don’t like.
I enjoy your videos. They’re very informative and helpful. Thank you. Keep up the good work. Mendoza is my next stop in Argentina.
Awesome! Thank you!
How did you go with learning Spanish?
I mingle with the locals, have Argentine friends, and use the Busuu app to teach myself the language.
Thx. for the video. I am a Canadian businessman. I was thinking of buying some property in Argentina and use it as a winter destination for me. I do NOT have any contacts/relatives there, what is the best process for this?
Thanks for watching! I recommend starting by hiring a trusted real estate agent who specializes in working with international buyers. They can guide you through the property market and legal requirements. At the moment, I don't know anyone reliable. It's a good idea to visit the area you're interested in first to get a feel.
Hello could you give me the contact info of your landlord, or agency for Mendoza apartments. Thank you!
You could also try reaching out to a real estate agency such as RE/MAX Mendoza (www.remax.com.ar/) as they often help expats with rentals or checking out local rental platforms like Zonaprop. Good luck, and feel free to ask if you need any other tips!
Thank you very much for your video. We entered Argentina with a tourist visa, and we are currently in Buenos Aires. My wife’s due date(expected date of confinement) is on February 2025. However, by that time, our tourist visa will have expired. After the baby is born, we can apply for permanent residency and DNI. Will the expiration of our tourist visa affect our application? 2.After landing Argentina, we consulted a lawyer who mentioned that the government’s processing time for applying for Argentine citizenship is 1-2 years. Is it easier to apply for Argentine citizenship directly through the courts? Does the citizenship application process have Spanish language requirements? Thanks, CavernSaga
Congrats on your exciting news! I replied to this same message on Instagram, please check your DM ☺

I would like to know what your total expenses are per month in USD please
As a family of 3, living without a car, in a long-term housing contract, we manage to maintain a modest lifestyle, spending approx $750-800 USD per month in this economy.
Hi Laila, I am a retired Canadian and tried several places to live in Paraguay over the past year, I really don't like it here. I am currently in Caacupe, Paraguay. Would you advise moving some furniture from here to Mendoza or just leave it behind, its not expensive stuff. I have my car that I shipped in a container here, that I would bring with me and some belongings.
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. In Mendoza, buying brand-new, modern furniture can be pretty pricey-almost like what you’d pay in the U.S and probably Canada. But you can definitely find more affordable options at local shops or by checking out second-hand listings on Facebook Marketplace and Mercado Libre. If it’s worth bringing your furniture really depends on the cost of shipping. If the shipping costs end up being high, it might be easier (and cheaper) to just leave it behind and buy what you need once you get to Mendoza. You can compare the prices here: www.gammahogar.com.ar
