Full 11am session from Brands Hatch GP circuit. It was a sessioned day, and I was with Lotus on Track. Lovely weather and lots of nice cars including GT Porsches, Ariel Atom, Noble, and obviously lots of Lotus variants.

A full session from Bedford on 29/04/24 in my Lotus Exige 410. Put the pedal cam in the car for this session. Nice steady warm up lap as the car / tyres had cooled down a bit since the previous session.

3 laps from my 12pm session at Bedford Autodrome on 29/04/24. A lovely white Alpine A110 was pushing hard and nearly lost it at the first chicane (Lap 2), and then Stewart in his modified Exige 350 made a brief appearance before driving away from me!

A good session at a very quiet Snetterton 300. After getting past a very unusual looking car, I then had a lot of fun trying to keep up with a Ginetta race car. This ended up with me improving on my best ever lap of Snetterton before backing off and heading back to the pits

      It was a lovely day. Thanks mate, appreciate the comment. I do try to be polite, and not overtake unless I’m sure the car in front is aware. I think it’s easy to forget some people might not be experienced and will be so focussed on what they’re doing they might not notice cars behind.

      @@williamtelford1 Yes, it has got a quiet track exhaust on now, but it’s been on all year. This video sounds quite different to the others as I had no rear camera, and I usually use the audio from the that instead of the internal camera

    I take it the track exhaust left you with no issues at Bedford? Looking to get a 410 for lots of track days.

      Yeah, it was absolutely fine. To be honest, I thought it might still fail as Bedford is so strict on drive by. I started off short shifting past the noise meters and gradually increased revs to find the ‘limit’. But after a few sessions I was full throttle / full revs and never even got a single warning

      Cheers mate. Was a crazy day with all the red flags wasn’t it? Especially if you hadn’t been out for a while, made it hard to get into the rhythm.

      @@alexplanky I’d like to do more. I actually live in a terrible part of the country for getting anywhere, right on the east coast of Suffolk. Snetterton is my closest circuit at an hour away. Everywhere else is at least two and half hours

      @@alexplanky No, I always drive to circuit. I can’t be bothered messing about with a trailer. But I do normally just stay in a cheap hotel the night before so I’ve only got a 10 minute drive to the circuit

      Yeah, it was obviously it’s 4wd which helps. It was also a while ago and I probably wouldn’t have been pushing it as hard as I do the Lotus. Partly because if I smashed it up I wouldn’t be able to get to work 😂

      The R8 was my daily driver, and it was obviously better than the Lotus for that. But as a track car the Lotus blows it away. The R8 was very heavy and you could definitely feel that.

      Thanks mate. Not many times, I don’t know it as well as others yet. The first time was 14 years ago in an M3, but that was so long ago I could barely remember 😂 Then 2 years ago in the Exige. And then this third time.

      @@PNDale You seem to know the racing line pretty well! I gave it a go last week for the first time. Got harassed by bloody 3 Ariel Atoms racing each other , not to mention them over taking in the breaking zones. A nice and shiny black McClaren did the same thing though Karma was on my side as he ended up smashing the car so was towed away. I'm studying your video for future references. Thanks

      @@williamtelford1 Thanks for the comment. Bloody hell, that sounds like an ‘interesting’ day. I’m the same as you, I watched a few videos of other people before I went on that day. I find that it definitely helps. I also watch my own videos back, and it’s surprising how often you spot things that you think you could do differently. Always feels much harder to actually do once you’re back on track though 😂

      Yes mate, it is. I must admit I was still unsure that I’d be able to go flat out at Bedford as it’s so strict on noise. But the SWL exhaust did the job well.

      The rear camera is just a normal GoPro. I’ve basically got a spare number plate that I’ve fitted a mount to. No, I haven’t got an LSD unfortunately. I don’t normally miss having one, but I think it would have been useful that day in the tight hairpins

      Yes mate. These latest ones from Snetterton are with the new track exhaust. The rest of the exhaust system (headers and y-pipe) are still OEM, it was just the rear box that I’ve changed. 👍🏼

      The cameras are just normal GoPros. The data is collected by the AIM digital dash. I then use PC software called Racerender3 to add everything together

      Hi Alex. It's a Pioneer AVH-Z7000DAB, which is quite an old model now, but I think there are still places you can get them. One thing to be aware of, you do have to hold the indicator out of the way when the screen retracts in and out. Because of that I have mine set to just stay out permanently

      I have an ‘add-on’ track silencer that I fitted for most circuits which worked for most circuits. (Although I have finally just given in and changed the exhaust for a quieter one)

      Sorry, I’ve only just noticed this message. For most tracks I have an add on silencer that I just attach when I get to the circuit. At Cadwell if you can squeeze through the static test there’s no drive by to worry about

      Thank you, I appreciate the comment. I use a program called Racerender3 to combine the video files and to create the graphics overlay. It uses the exported AIM data in CSV format, and there are multiple graphics to choose from and edit.

      Oh no - I see you have rpm - so I guess you get that from the obd port. Bluetooth link to mobile phone? Capture using racerender?

      Thanks mate. I still use Michelin CUP2 tyres which is what it was supplied with originally. Suspension wise, the alignment is standard at the back, but I’ve had a bit more camber put on the front, and a little bit of toe out for sharper turn in. I do firm up the damper settings when I get to the track.

    Well done the pair of you...bang on driving that, thoroughly enjoyed that footage..I had a VX NA then a VX turbo...Evora then the S2 Exige and bashed a ton of laps in all 4 cars, so I fully appreciate what's involved to get a good clean lap even in traffic and I must say it was great to watch..great driving. Was the VX a supercharged NA or either the turbo or the limited run of the legendary VXR, as I noticed that the wheels were what they had fitted on the VXR variant at factory from OZ rare and very hard to come by if sourced else wher ..Had a stop watch on you to so 1.20-1 23 in traffic was impressive 🏁🏁

      Thanks for the comments. Sounds like you’ve had a nice selection of cars. I can’t remember the exact details of the VX, but it was a turbo that had been tuned to some level. It had been modified in other ways, so I’m not sure if it started off as a VXR. Yeah, our laps weren’t bad. I know mine has done a 1:18 with no traffic, but that was on knackered front tyres. I’d like to be in the 1:16’s when I go back next year really.

    I feel your pain here. A lack of awareness from slower drivers... Its very difficult to get clean laps at bedford. I had 1 or 2 clears laps the whole day a few weeks back!!

    Clean lap! Nice to see the other drivers were switched on and using there indicators. Had a track day at Bedford last weekend. Lots of traffic and everyone seemed half asleep!

    What camera/telemetry equipment do you use?

      Hi. The cameras are all GoPros of different ages. (A Hero 9, 8 and 4). The telemetry all comes from the AIM digital dash that I fitted. I use Racerender3 software to put it all together on PC.

    nice driving, I think you should do a 50% lift not a full lift just b4 you turn in for Craners. Then when you see you are going to make the Apex, floor it. You were going through the corner completely off the throttle.
