A townhouse is awesome. The only trouble sometimes with that is you need to be aware of condo fees that they can jack up without notice and the HOA which can be a real PITA because some of them are on major power trips but the one advantage of condos and townhouses is low maintenance and if you can’t be bothered with shovelling and yard work/gardening, then those types of homes are perfect.

Evan, as Americans are looking to move to Canada, especially Alberta due to the lower cost of living and housing in comparison to other parts of the country, you many want to talk about want it is like to live there; ie, what is cost of food, gasoline, taxes, medical, etc.

Dear Mr.JBest78, As I live in South Florida, USA, the state crawling with condos! So, you are correct! A future homeowner be informed as to were the monthly/quarterly HOA Dues go! In Florida the law states this requirement. Anyway, I have been viewing your videos, excellent job! If I were to move up to Alberta, Canada, I would definitely use you as my realtor, but, alas, I am stay put in the Sunshine State. Yet, good luck to you. Bob

I’m impressed that you addressed the lack of diversity. As a black male, I didn’t consider that as an issue before moving here from Pittsburgh PA. I learned pretty quickly that a lack of diversity means a lack of a diversity of services. It’s really embarrassing walking into a barbershop to get a haircut and being turned away because the barbers can’t style “that kind of hair.”

I love that they still kept some of the character of this older home. It looks well kept by the owner. Not surprised to see that it’s not on the market anymore. It definitely didn’t last long. If you keep your home up well and you even stage it properly then it should sell quickly. Most interested buyers probably prefer it empty because they don’t want to envision what it looks like with your stuff in it or anything else but with THEIR stuff in it.

These should be called fish bowl homes because they are like living in a fish bowl. No yard, no privacy, an absolute rip off. They are basically selling you apartments for 1/2 million dollars each. I can’t believe that governments are letting builders build homes this close together again. I thought this practice was banned back in the eighties along with cookie cutter neighbourhoods. Too bad Canada wasn’t bigger so we could space the houses further apart.

Very spacious and the layout is not too bad either. A little bit pricey for a townhouse but looks elegant and perfect if you can’t be bothered with huge yard maintenance or snow removal. Just have to be careful with condo fees and if there is a HOA. They can be a real PITA.

I was looking forward to seeing you post another video. It’s been quite awhile. That condo looks very impressive, especially for 230k. It’s sad that there isn’t much in St.Albert for that price. Possibly grandin village or ridgewood terrace? St.Albert is pretty expensive sadly and I also sadly think St.Albert is for the elite, and I am definitely NOT elite! I work at one of the busier grocery stores in St.Albert and you would be surprised how some people there let me know that I’m not the elite.

High property taxes….but still subsidized by Edmonton tax payers. Vastly more St Albert residents work and use the infrastructure of Edmonton vs the other way around. Love hearing St Albert residents complain about traffic on the roads they don’t pay for and make congested by their choice to have long commutes.
