I'm goooing out.....
This channel is for anyone who is interested in hiking, camping and general outdoors life.
In 2015 I had major surgery to remove half of my pancreas and also my spleen following the discovery of a precancèrous tumour in my pancreas, since then I have been fighting to get back to a reasonable level of fitness, cycling and Japanese ju-jitsu.
This year 2021 I had a heart attack whilst out on my bike, that made me decide to ditch the bike and rekindle my love for for camping and some hiking
When I was in my 20s I used to do the chase walk (40 miles) the Lyke wake walk (40 mile) and the 3 peaks of yorkshire (27 miles) amongst others.
I have now bought a TentBox and plan to take on Britain in my car with my fiancee and our house on its roof.
We have now bought a little caravan, it's a Compass Lynx 2 birth.
Hopefully I can inspire other people who have been hit with obstacles to get out their and do something they love.
It's half the fun.
Keep smiling

Our Second Caravan rally.
Our Second ever Caravan Rally.
We loved our first rally with Northumberland DA that we decided to go on another one.
this one was for the north eastern district, which combines Northumberland, Durham and Teeside DA's.
for £15 or £20 a night we had entertainment each night, comprising of bingo each night , a solo singer on night one and a duo on night two and a fancy dress competition.
there were 109 units camping on this meet up, quite impressive.
Just released I keep saying Hexham instead of Corbridge. Hexham is the next town a couple of miles up the river Tyne,

Off Grid caravanning at Doxford Farm Camping site in Northumberland. we chose to go off grid just to see if we could manage it. Doxford farm campsite in Northumberland do have electric grass pitches too, as well as those there are luxurious Pods and Bell Tents . the owners are really friendly and the place is kept spotless. I would definitely recommend this place. We may go back and use our Ten...

I drive a Mercedes-benz C63 AMG on the handling circuit, it's not really a race circuit and more of a handling circuit with a series of tight bends and a very small straight, I managed to get to about 85mph I think.

Loved this vid. Thank you! 🙏❤️🏴
Thanks for watching 👀
Its great that new people are buying caravans and being enthusiastic about the new adventures. Great video, and you won another subscriber 😊
It actually my 3rd caravan, I've just had a 6 or 7 year break. My last caravan was a 6 birth and 10 ft longer than my current one. Ironically this 20 year old 15 foot caravan is my favourite one.
@@darrenclarke4859 Great 👍
Looks fun but the organisers need to ensure the distance is kept between caravans for fire risk
They do, it's very strict, they tell uou exactly where you can park/pitch
Hi Darren, Livingpod Lite 2 also fits the Tentbox Lite 1 The livingpod is backward compatible , 2 things to modify, 1 add clips to where the hooks are, 18mm bar clips with 3inch straps that attach to the bar on the flysheet of the Tentbox Lite 1. 2, add straps to each side about 7 to 8 inches further back this will allow the cover to attach to the livingpod, plus I've added a bungee cord to each corner eyelet and attached it to the guy line tabs. 3 you can also install the back cover to the Lite 1 but also you can leave it off, as myself and my girlfriend we did the Dolomites and Lake Garda plus Lake Annecy, 3 week trip using the livingpod.. if you don't use the back panel, you can create an even bigger area, by not using it... 4, if you enter a full blown tornado 🌪️ like we did at the lake front of lake Garda, then invert your telescopic poles, use the base of the poles, and tucked them under each corner of the cross pole, this will stop the livingpod from caving in 👍😉 5, as with Chris we use it for toilet plus cooking sometimes, I use a light from Amazon that has a remote and has 5 different colour modes 😉 works a treat. Ok so the livingpod will fit the Tentbox Lite 1 with the 2 modifications, it's just a pity Tentbox won't listen as I've shown them pics and vids ... Helps if you can think out of the box 👍😉
Fascinating ..
Decathlon do the Anti condensation matt for £59 same diameter...
Nice caravan m8 from one fellow Newcastle man to another good luck with your new caravan bud I’m looking for exactly one like yours to start some new adventures haven’t towed for over 30 years so should be fun 🤣🤣
Thanks 👍
I hadn't towed for about 6 or 6 years , it comes back very quickly.
Thanks for posting this. I live in Florida and rent is getting so expensive I'm seriously thinking of either converting the inside of my car into a camper or getting a tentbox. Thanks also for mentioning about holding up in windy weather as the official is 39 Mph which isn't a lot for Florida but it is Gale force 7/8 I can see it held up nicely for 2 years. My only concern is where to put the solar panels?
@John-wp1rw I have Jackery solor panels which just sit on the ground.
Love it
Can I ask, how often did you keep it on your car over those 2 years (ie did you only put it on for trips or leave it attached for most of the 2 years)? If you left it attached, was your car generally parked in the open air/not a garage? I’m trying to work out how durable it is if it’s relatively permanently left on a car!
Hi, thanks for watching, coincidentally I have taken it off the car today for the first time in 18 months as I'm going on a long journey tomorrow and want to increase my fuel economy. Apart from the writing on the cover fading, everything is still great.
@@darrenclarke4859Amazing, thanks for replying.
How many people can sleep in?
2 people can sleep comfortably, maybe 2 people and a small child and a dog at the feet at a push.
How was it been with the weather? Say high winds and cold weather ?
The tentbox has been very good in high winds, 2 years ago we were camping on Shell Island with about 10 other tentboxers and a few ground tents, a big storm came in , all the tentboxes survived unscathed, but my kids dome tent was destroyed ( they slept in the car in the end) Numerous other ground tents also got annihilated. Our awnings had to be put away before the storm as they wouldn't have survived either. Also we have camped in sub zero conditions, new year in the Highlands of Scotland. I have a RUclips video showing that.
Enjoy camping
Just read the long list of 1 star reviews online about this tin-pot company before buying.. I wish I had before clicking the payment button. an absolute shambles of a company, the staff can't even use a phone or keyboard to reply back to your messages. When they do it's just excuse after excuse. It's that much of a tin-pot company they don't have a telephone number that works, only messaging service that they don't reply too. Expect to wait over a week for delivery when they claim it's "in stock". In stock to them is on a boat somewhere from China. It's a budget company with a budget product run on a shoe-string budget, with staff that just laugh at you when they have your money. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy, in fact il be warning everyone I know and everyone I come across to Avoid Avoid AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.!.
Great little caravan, although just to note it’s a 1997 model not 2007👍
Whoops, did I say that ?...
What is that electric box you have in your tent box? And where did you get your mattress covers from in your tent box please?
Hi, the electric box is called a jackery, The mattress covers are from tentbox, they are Down blankets
Get out and enjoy it. All the best.
Looks fantastic we currently go camping in our air tent and have done for a good few years I want a tent box but the wife wants a small caravan she says it’s the daytime when it rains that puts her off the tent box idea 😊 we just can’t afford both thanks any advice please
Well as you can see we have both, additional to our tentbox we have an awning with an awning room which we can cook and chill out in. The caravan offers us a different dynamic to our outdoor experience, extra comfort, warmth and luxury. We love both. Thanks for watching .
Our first caravan was a Compass Lynx, they truly are like a tardis, we loved ours ❤
Have you got a link to your anti-condensation mat?
I bought it off Ventura roof top tents website.
Try Decathlon they do it for £59 it fits perfectly as there rooftop tent is the same measurement's...
Great tips…many thanks.🧐👍🏻
Thanks for watching
Im really glad you have posted this because I am trying to choose one . I like the size and price of this but was gutted theres no pod thing available but you have an awning I see.. more research needed :)
The awning was a game changer, I've seen and been in the living pods and yes they look nice, but not as practical as an awning room.
I'm wondering if the thermal kit has to be taken off every time you set up, or if you could leave it in. Thx
I have left mine in
My ancestors owned that Castle.
You can get the anti condensation Matt from decathlon for £59.00 same size as the bedding... Nice to see Tentbox finally sorted it out for the Tentbox lite 1
My anti condensation mat was from Ventura tents ...
Is your car a Dacia Logan? I'm going to buy a tentbox in the sale this week and my car is a Logan, have you found it massively affects the handing/fuel consumption when the tentbox is on?
I get around 42mph around town and about 47 to 50 on a long run. Mine is the petrol version. It's a very good car, loads of room, cheap to run .
Are they well secured so they can’t be stolen if your off hiking??
Yes it's bolted to the roofrack, and the roofrack is locked. It would be easier to steal a ground tent.
You can buy security nuts for them which are relatively cheap and gives you extra peace of mind
Hiya! Where did you get the anti condensation mat from! Struggling to find one the right size :)
I went ont the venture tents website.
What brand and model is the awning/side enclosure you have?
My awning is by Tentbox and the awning room is an ARB.
@@darrenclarke4859 thank you my friend!

Hi did you buy the the roof bars from tentbox or from another outlet, the tentbox roof bars are about £200 but amazon are about half that price thanks
Hi, yes I did buy from tentbox, they were Thule roofbars that came an I thought they were good value for money too.
@@darrenclarke4859 definitely thanks how do I do that
if im not mistaken the ruins were in the origonal story for dracula
Hi Darren, how are you? I was firstly attracted to your channel by your tentbox then discovered you had a heart attack. I had a heart attack when I was 43, 54 now, took about a year to get me sorted out ending in a double bypass. I got back to work 2 years after bypass and never really give it a second thought now, life goes on. Getting back to your tentbox, I want one, maybe next year.
Thank you very much for your watching and your comment, I really appreciate it. Keep smiling m8
I look forward to seeing you use your tentbox in further vids
Very tidy mate! Just curious does it affect the range much being on an electric car? I have my lite on a Mondeo and it's pretty negligible the effect on mpg and overall driving
I've only had it on for 1 day, I haven't noticed a massive difference but I'm sure it will affect it, I only do short distances so it suits me. I live on the North East Coast so when I do take it out I can just skirt around the coast line and discover new places without driving large distances in one go.
What about when it’s windy up there Darren? Thinking about the natural sway of a car in wind.
Apparently they are very stable. As the car is electric it has a very low center of gravity with the batteries along the floor.
i remember seeing the red arrows at the priory with you
