The poor lady has no mask and wearing slippers while removing glass. No. No. No!!!!
Good install, some advice for using compression fittings in the future. Putting PTFE tape on the threads don't do much good, if you were to get a leak. You need to wrap in over the olives.
Is there anything you can't do Davy lad ???
@@boyasaka 😆 I need to try Brick laying next, got a little project in the garden so that could be interesting lol
Fantastic start, can’t wait for more progress 🎉
Good work
I was quoted £750 for temporary scaffolding. Thank you for this video because it shows an alternative method of steel installation. How many men did take? How long did it take you to do the installation of the steel?
@@LR52VUU four of us did it in a day, once we got a system working it wasn't to bad
Thank you, grateful for you sharing full journey eith goid instructions.
I just bought one £250, brill bit of kit. Easy to assemble. Just laying 70sqm of porcelain oit back, does the job and very quiet.
@@franswamcduck3046 yes its still working good after 3 years
you should have just put the stop tap in your kitchen and not the front room. I know the regs say to put as the pipe enters the house but its totally not feasible, logical or accessable to get to should there ever be a leak. By cutting the pipe youve created a point of failure even if you decide to remove the stopcock. My MDPE also enters from the front of the house but I placed the stopcock a good 15 metres after entry into the Kitchen where the boiler is. However good work and always nice to see people DIY.
Mine's doing something similar. The water seems to prime every time we turn on a tap, but haven't checked to see if it's leaking when disconnecting the pump outside the van. I had a quick look at the water set up and concluded i needed to fit a non-return valve. I didn't even know that the fitting you disassembled had a check valve. I'll deffo give your fix a try, and report back....!! Thanks fir the video, very thorough 👍
❤just watched video very good just wondered why the diaphragm original was black and new one in kit was white you didn’t change it was there any reason. Thanks
@@IvanFoster-x6i Its a while since I fitted this kit but I think I replaced all the parts in the kit
Where did you get your switches and sockets from please?
@@Field-Meerkat screwfix
Did you need to earth the sockets and switches individually?
@@ryansearles4719 Yes all earthed up
Should the diaphragm be full of water or air? When I press mine, water squirts out of the tiny outlet…
Rome wasn't built in a day Davey lad
Is made from metal inside for mix of plastic
And metal
Hi, the main body is heavy duty plastic. Had it a while now and still very pleased with the quality
Very helpful video! What was the item number for the pipe insulation and was the bung from Screwfix thanks
@@jd9470 yes all from Screwfix. I think the insulation was part number - Essentials Economy Pipe Insulation 28mm x 13mm x 1m Product code: 38391
I like it. I need a cheap but decorative way to cover my windows.
Great video. Keep cracking on bud. Got a similar project on myself in darlo, might reach out for some tips.
Thanks, good luck with yours
Do you need a planning premission for the conversion
@@kamsobieraj4277 we needed planning for the garden gates and applied for lawful development certificates for various other jobs. Its all in the videos.
Hiya fab video! How many boxes of 10 tiles did you use in total?
@@sarahselina2155 we worked outvtge area to be tiled then added 10%. Approx 71 tiles
How did you attach the picture rail to the wall? Adhesive and what looks like nails/screws? Installing a picture rail on some freshly skimmed walls and have no idea how to fix them without cracking the plaster.
I used heavy duty adhesive and screws. I drilled a pilot hole threw the picture rail then screwed into the wall.
Nice job. But I’d always lay down a decoupling matting on top of the ply.
It looks really nice ^-^
watching now - all the videos I've seen so far though seem to be those bow windows, or whatever they're called - My bay window is rectangular, so 90degrees between the 2 main pieces, trying to work out how they join together when a 90 angle
Great vid. Question: what brand/part no, are are the recessed door/magnet sensors?
Hi, I cant remember the exact contacts we used but Tool station or City electrical factors have similar sensors available. www.cef.co.uk/catalogue/products/1286989-flush-contact-normally-closed-white?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwoa2xBhACEiwA1sb1BFceXN9brbnHluLphT0eJ21NH0rXzOyYc01IzOYrkwVLlVKvws4MthoC3xwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Every time I put up Coving , it always fry’s my brain for 20 mins , internal lefts internal rights, external lefts external rights , and after 20 mins I get my head round it Then couple years later , fry’s my brain for another 20 mins lol Aweosme job as usual Dave
How did you wire the speed dialler to the main alarm control? I see 1/2/3/4 trigger and 12v and 0v, but the manual refers to not closed and not open connections and resistors, so a bit confused on this. Hope that you can help.
Hi, we programmed one of the zone outputs N/C to trigger the dialler
That was exactly my problem, saved me some money instead of buying a complete unit. Great video easy to follow sorted... thanks
Make sure there is no old wiring in the ceiling
David What on earth are you gonna do with yourself when you finish the house reno !!!!
Think I'll have a few years work till its 100% 😆
Really good work.
Poor Alicia doing all the hard work!
thank you very much grate video ...
Great job as always Dave Hope your keeping well
Yes all ok thanks, hope your keeping well
Looks great, we have a similar design in our entrance way.
Hi I’m looking at doing a similar loft conversion and was wondering do you need a party wall agreement to put the steels in ?
I think you would if it was a party wall, we found our local planning / building control very helpful with similar questions regarding our conversation. We did it a permitted development and they told us what documents they required.
Nice videos. I thought I recognised the accent and then I recognised th front of the house. The cross roads to your right as you leave the front door used to have loads of car crashes when I was a kid. I'm undertaking a full house renovation too, so I'm sure your videos will come in useful.
This is such a useful video. Thankyou for being so thorough!
Great stuff Dave ,a man of many talents. Hope your keeping well . Chris
Beautiful
Thanks for taking the time to talk us through this installation. I am hoping to do the same and wondered if its ok to remove the window without any supports or not. I noticed you didnt and it worked well. Do windows already have a support built in above the gap ?
Hi, yes all our windows already had existing lintels above or arches, the only issue was the kitchen window that didn’t have a lintel so we needed to install one
Nice one. Thank you sharing. Fantastic info and also enjoyed the gravy 😉👍
Did this stuff ruin the lime pointing in that fireplace can it be used on lime
Hi, we didn’t have any issues
@@renovatingvanecottage-diyh495 oh really I repointed a stone internal wall and the face off the stone got lime on which is hard to clean off I’ll try this
That drill won’t last long using it for core drilling, you need to buy a proper diamond drill which are designed for core drilling, recommend makita
Hi, it’s still working good, used it lots of times over the past year with no issues. The core drill bit is very sharp so puts very little load on the drill. You should find if you drill has a clutch and you take your time it will be ok
My cheap screwfix ones still going after 15 years multiple holes
Great work!! Just watches the whole thing and going to be doing it myself soon, can I ask why did you use expanding foam n the joins where the aluminium supports go? Was that for sound or to help secure it all?
Thanks, the foams probably not necessary but hopefully it will help with sound and thermal performance. Windows have been in a good while now in all weather and we are really happy with them.
Thanks for this. We are about to do the same so this was really useful for us.
Hope it all goes as planned
G did it take to remove and make re secure
A real plasterboarder would have boarded every individual step
Excellent work 👏
Hi I like how you make your clips easy to understand - QUESTION! I have this Texecom alarm and when the alarm sounds I get a phone call to my mobile. I have just changed my number so I need to update the alarm system - Can you either let me know how to do that or do another great video to show people THANKS
I actually need to update the numbers in mine so I’ll have a look at doing something soon
