This video is beautiful, the song you chose is perfect. There is so much pain and sadness in this video, but there are also those small moments of hope. Thors holding Thorfinn's hand, Gardar and Arnheid together with Hjalti, Canute's laugh. I knew nothing about this series until @ImonSnow spoke of it, but it wasn't until I saw her thumbnail to Vinland Saga 2x20 "Pain" that I began to watch this series. I just wanted to know why she looked so sad in that picture and why this series looked like it meant so much to her. I love what she said about Thorfinn, about his journey, his pain. "I know that they're fictional characters, but I want to say that I want Thors to know that all of his good deeds and goodness did not go to waste on Thorfinn, even the small stuff he remembered, it stuck with him, it was just buried deep down underneath all the darkness. But it's still within him, and if given the chance it would come out, and that's why my heart breaks. My heart breaks for all the misunderstood kids, all the misunderstood teenagers, and all the misunderstood adults. If only people were just given the chance to prove that they're worthy, because they are, we all are. We're all worthy of change and growth, and if people can just be patient enough, that goodness that's in all of us, even though it does get buried with life's hardships. It's still there, we just need people to be patient enough to help, and that's why my heart breaks. Because Thorfinn is a character that you would think if we didn't know his beginnings we would think that this guy is a lost cause, and he should be locked away, throw away the key, or killed even, because he was so feral and dangerous. But he only needed a chance to be able to heal, and healing takes time, if not forever. And that's the other thing that a lot of people don't understand is that healing is a lifetime process, you get better and better, but it's still there, and it's a battle. You can't just one day, it's like, you take a pill, and it's done. You're like, I'm 100% good today, and forever, it's not how it works. So seeing Thorfinn's character I can just imagine how many people who have felt broken, and not loved, and lonely, isolated, confined, like solace in his character. That you can too become a better person, and that within you is beauty, there is light. There is beauty and light within you, no matter what you've done, it's just the truth." For anyone that's reading this and doesn't know who @ImonSnow is, then I'll tell you a little bit about her. She does reaction videos to Movies and TV Shows, but her channel is so much more than that, it's her. She really cares about people and about what she does, she cares for the story, for the characters and the message the story is trying to tell us. At the end of her videos she shares her thoughts and takes the time to talk about things. I really love how much she feels for the characters, the way she connects to the story, the way she feels and experiences all of it. She's really beautiful, in every sense of the word.

Vinland Saga is a reminder that revenge, although a primitive instinct (and albeit an arguably fair demand) it only causes more trouble for everyone involved and even to those not involved and sometimes they won't even exist for decades or centuries or millenia. You never know how things will evolve. Sometimes the only thing we can do is walk away even if it burns us. Some things you just get to feel forever and that's the way it is. However, sometimes there is a time to fight and it is your job to understand the difference between your personal suffering and what is overkill both. In every situation. Regardless of how you fell and you WILL feel a whole hell of a lot. It's not easy and it's not supposed to be. I remember when I witnessed police brutality against my mother when I was seven and and I had never had a violent thought in my life (I was VERY sheltered...my mom thought the Smurfs were violent. Uber pacifist. Tried to give me as wholesome a life as she could) and my FIRST thought was "I will fucking kill you if you touch her again" and launched myself between me and them and it took two of them to rip me away from her. They had to figure out I got a hand on the handcuff chain. Like Thors, she didn't fight back. She behaved herself to save me from seeing more. My instinct, deep down, was to protect without thinking and regardless of cost. Her's was to preserve at any cost. Her own way of protecting me. The whole night...and for years after...I had thoughts of revenge. No actual attempts, because that's not what she would have wanted. She would have been like Thors. She would have hated for me to spend my life in jail because of a bunch of corrupt cops that wanted to take advantage of a single woman in a small hick town. They didn't kill her, but...somedays...they might as well have. Most days she fought like hell to overcome it...but many times I had to talk her out of suicide. A child shouldn't have to do that. We never got justice and never will because we can't prove anything now. I can't prove anything. To this day, he is still venerated in that hick town. He ruined my life and I've been pretending to be normal ever since. To this day, if I ever had a gun in my hand and them in my sights and I knew I could get away with it...I wouldn't. I couldn't. How could I dishonor the belief and hope she had for me? Do I still desire karma? Yes. Did I get any? No. Does that eat at my soul 30 years later every day of my life? Absolutely. Do I have blood on my hands? Not even a drop. That's my mother winning even if her body never fully healed. Their reason? She didn't want to date one of the cops. If I had given in even once, that would have been it for my life in one way or another.
