Thank U so much! I've got a hp 400 G4. Thanks to you, I was able to fix one USB port, placing a jumper in the SD RDR. However instead of the USB 3.0 connector, my motherboard has a PC2 COM A connector, wich is diferent. Could you help me please to find out wich pins do I have to join? 🙏

This is a successful built low budget pc. i want to upgrade my lenovo pc it was given to me by a friend i just want to play a specific game gears eday when it comesout in 2025 but i will wait to see if my pc can run that game i have 16gb of memory ddr3, cpu i5 4570 and my video card has 2g of memory i believe is 1030 nvidia card i have to look it up. Genius! I've just shifted my hp to a larger case. I don't have a USB 3 cable long enough. Not quite sure if I'm even gonna bother as I'm pretty sure the USB sockets attached to the motherboard are usb3 anyway. Any idea how to wire a fan currently on 2 wires to PSupply direct to the motherboard socket. I'm thinking just snip and test. It's not rocket science lol

I have a couple of old Haswell DDR3 HP Elite 800 G1's sitting around and was thinking of modifying them as budget gamers to flip. I have I7-4790's for them and 2 graphic cards that don't require power cable like 750 Ti and an MSI RX 560 AERO. I have 2 GTX 960's but not sure about using a SATA to GPU cable adapter. Your other video about the single fan R9 390X BIOS issue helped me out. Liked and subbed. Thank you.

Thank you so much for uploading how you resolved this issue! I have the R9 390 version. I took it apart and thoroughly cleaned it and repasted it with new thermal pads.Both fans spin upon initial startup then only the one fan at the I/O shield side remained running. Bench testing on high and then ultra high with Unigine Heaven still only produced the single fan spinning. The temp got up to 79c. The double dissipation BIOS version for my R9 390 card fixed it. Now the stubborn fan kicks on 72c and shuts off at 59c. Much appreciate you taking the time to help others like me by sharing your experience.

2:24 you don't need a wire you could just use a blob of solder to bridge the pins. Despite that this doesn't work for me anyway.

Bought mine in like 2016 for just about 120€ with a 300GB HDD and 8GB of RAM, not perfect, but I got it from a refurbisher with warranty so a little price hike is to be expected there. Serves me well, although I broke one or two parts which I may replace at some point, then again I am considering switching to an X model like the X240 for weight reasons. Carrying that thing in a bag with my papers and everything tends to hurt my shoulder after a while, especially since I carry another 1-2 liters (so also 1-2kg) of water with me, all in all it's like carrying three T420s in a shoulder bag, just not fun.

Thanks! Now my home-server able to survive reboot headless) But somehow i get dimm 1-3 POST-error from time to time, and every time with some bootable sticks (Arch in example).My board is not exact same, my board has 4 dimm and i put 4x16gb ecc ddr4 there, it is max supported.

just want to add for other like me with the ms-7A02 boards the usb error is for the 3.0 header not the 2.0 had a headache of a time figuring that one out the 2.0 header does not matter at all for the error

I am also a Linux user and I have the same notebook, mine is a dual-core I5, I upgraded the Ram to 16 GB, in total internal storage it has 2.5TB in 1 512 GB M-Sata SSD and 2 mechanical disks 1 TB each, one is in the place where the optical drive was. Despite the years it is still very functional, since I use it for occasional multimedia content and office work. Additionally, I have the dockstation for this notebook and to which I connect my keyboard, monitor, printer and other hard drives, making a total of 8TB when I use it as if it were a desktop PC. The truth is, in my opinion, this model is one of the best computers manufactured in history.
