Refurbishing My Engine! | Part 1: Compression Test
In this video I perform a compression test on my 1967 Ford Mustang. This is the first in a series of videos where I refurbish my old engine without doing an entire engine rebuild.

Restoring the oil pan on my 1967 mustang!!!
Awesome video. So refreshing to see the challenges you went through (and how you tackled them) which i can relate with my 66 project. I swear they all have their very own issues 🙃
Looks like School has taken your time, miss these videos you started on. hopefully you can come back to it. but Aerospace school is pretty Important
Amazing....
Thanks for the video ...nice job...BTW...1967 Mustang used "Old Ford Blue" for engine paint which is the darker blue...that lighter color came later
Hello. Very cool that you work on cars yourself. I'm showing this to my 8year old daughter as an inspiration for what girls can do :) Cheers from Czech republic
Car's gorgeous
Love it 😂😂😂😂😂
Is it a good idea to get them in caps mixed up with each other since they go back to which one it came off of
Awesome video
This video is EXCELLENT on how to do this and rather than making it look easy Kat's video showed all the little details you need to know to do this job... AND the things that can go wrong. (I use hardened air wrench sockets with a long breaker bar to remove the main cap bolts.) Well done Kat!
My bolt is leaking a tiny bit of oil , very tiny bit, anybody know what it could be, I’ve tightened the bolts
Would you be my grielfriend please?🥺🙏🙏🙏
Very helpful. Great work
Great video. Would love to see more content. But, 1968 badges on a 1967? It hurts to watch.....lol.
This is one place Ford made things easier than Chevy. The starter solenoid was mounted on the inner fender or firewall for easy access. Instead of being mounted on the starter. Can anyone tell me why Chevy always mounted it on the starter?
your the hotest!
You are soo beautiful....
Kinda jealous of your garage. I bought a 05 outback and since I live at a apartment complex I work on my car in the parking lot at 1am.
Awesome..
Always wear eye protection when looking up under your work area. Impressive video, good work.
Are you going to continue this series
I am doing the same job right now. Tip: Don't waste the time with a mere *electric* drill. I loosened the bolts on the crossmember--with a breakerbar, and my universal tool: "Mr Snappy." Mr Snappy is a 30 inch galvanized iron pipe...His turn ons are loosening stuck bolts, and anyone who appreciates loosening stuck bolts. It took a few turns-before I could get my Milwaukee M18 Impact Driver-to move either bolt.
Start wearing rubber gloves , they are cheap and your hands will love you for it
I'm glad to see you placed the original bearing back with the slight wear mark on it. I found this slight wear as well on some bearings when I pulled the main caps, and I'm led to believe on the internet that it mandates replacement, like, right now. Which is easier said than done when one doesn't mind turning a weekend job into a full engine rebuild and has all the tools, money and time in the world to do it. I like to think that there are a zillion cars driving around with slightly worn bearings that people don't know about because they never got a chance to check it.
Awesome ! Loved this! You go Girl!
Lmao....i have a 65 fastback. I can attest to this.....
it's a Ford no wonder is trying to roll away
Any car down hill is heavy
At least you weren't standing behind it. Haha. How's the rebuild going?
smart girl....never try to stop it by draggin thats a loosing battle everytime but good job on thinking fast and getting to the brake
😂😂😂😂😂😂 you need a husky dude ma’am 😅
😅
Thanks for the how too! I am nervous about doing this myself.
Yes! Thank you. Will be tackling this same project soon. This will come in handy.
I’m a few weeks away from buying a 67. I’m so excited!!! It’s nice to see others working on theirs 🙂
Why are you not wearing eye protection?
it looks like you're not doing the top half of the seal....that's where stuff gets ugly.....unlike you that is beutifull. ;D Awesome car
Good job
It's a good idea the use of nitrile gloves to mantain hands and nails cleans....are cheap and detachables, regards
You did a good job, keep up the good work.
Good job.
Hat was way more than 3/8 of an inch, really surprised you got it back together, 1/4 is fine, also those one piece gaskets really aren't made for that style of dimpled oil pan.
Nice job on the mystery if you where losing compression. What are you going to replace the engine with? Thanks.
Kudos for keeping your sh1t together when it goes awry! Great vid and good fortunes! 🙌🏼
i gotta ask, what's the name of that blue paint? hope to see more content soon.
It’s called Acapulco blue!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for confirming my thoughts to just take it to a repair shop to do this 😉 Actually im a lot older than you and just cant climb under the car much anymore like I used to.
Great content
Gonna do the same project on my 68 now. The reason I did not want to commit to this task before this video was that I did not want to have to mess with the steering mech. Now that I know that all I have to do is remove the suspension cross member and unbolt the oil pan, it's worth it. Your effort is very inspiring. Good luck with your channel
Cool channel so far. Hi from New Zealand!
