Fiberglass mold making part 2 | Demolding, Sanding, polishing and finishing
Tutorial regarding finsihing of fiberglass molds.
We make a mold from a speedshape which is made of plastic. This process can be used with parts that are made of wood, metals.
This process helps in easily replicating parts.
In this video we explain how to make a mold for a part.
Mold is made using ISO polyester resin and fiberglass chopped strand mat.
We use sandpapers from grits of 400 to 5000.
Then polishing the mold using a coumpound to a high gloss finish.

Tutorial regarding simple fiberglass part making. We make 2 sheets one will be transparent and flexible, the other will be opaque and rigid. The flexible sheet is made of 2 layers of 300gsm Chopped strand mat (CSM) And rigid sheet is made from 1 layers of fiberglass CSM and 2 layers of fiberglass cloth.
