Some peoples success story is running there own business at 20 and teaching themselves how to invest in stocks by 21. My success story is that i moved out at 18, got my own car and apartment at 19, worked 2 full time jobs and have $30k in savings/401k at 20 and at 22 i realized im a good person. I have the same love in my eyes that i did when i was 6. People got the worst side of me when i was younger but behind all that chaos and confusion I was and have always been kind, helpful, smart, brave, curious, creative. People never saw that side of me no matter how hard i tried to be that for them during the time i lived in a dark, toxic environment. Looking back i always saw what I was on the inside and never understood why all my “friends” said i would grow up to be an alcoholic even tho i never drank or liked to drink, always being the friend that was pushed to walk behind the group, helped my friend look all over the college grounds for a quarter so he could get a snack and when i wanted a bite he said no. Had a toxic boyfriend and my friend took his side and said i was using him. My best friend got pregnant and ghosted me because she wanted “more motherhood appropriate” friends. She was the one that snuck alcohol into church, she was the one that bought a vape from some kid at school, she was the one that stole her moms medicated chocolate and gave it to me. But everyones always seen me as a bad person even if i didnt see myself doing anything wrong. Im still confused by all of this. I still dont fully understand why these different people i met in different places at different times in different circumstances, even the family that i was born with; they all agree that i wasnt a good person, someone to avoid, someone who IS going to be an alcoholic. It doesnt make any sense to me. Now that im out of that toxic home life and ive healed my scars im afraid to meet ppl and make new friends. Im afraid ill be that bad person again. But im not a bad person in my heart. I want whats best for people, i love to help, i love to read, i love to cook, i dont gossip, i dont drink, i dont smoke, i love to line dance, i am smart and driven towards my career goals, im generous, idk wtf im listing all this for but dude, im a god damn good person. Im smart, im funny, im caring, and im kind but can put my foot down. Im not a push over so wtf is my down side? Im looking back and i had all these friends who literally have never reached out since highschool. I reach out they act all happy and “oh i missed yooou, lets grab food” but here i am 3 years of not texting first and where the duck did everybody go? I didnt gossip i didnt party, i didnt judge, i cleaned when i came over to their family’s house… what did all of these people see that made them not only ghost me, but literally have a bitter taste in their mouth when ever they would have to say my name. Idk what they saw but i see me and im a good person and i deserve friends and a family. I deserve my goals and my dreams. Idk who they thought i was back then but i know ive changed since then and i made it out of that hell still caring and kind hearted. Sorry but that stuff pisses me off. Sorry to vent. That all just dont make sense, i need a play back and see how they saw me and how they saw me act. Because i was quiet and kind and smart in highschool. What made me the “future alcoholic” and the kind of friend you dont want around when youre going to have a baby? 7 years of friendship and the moment she got pregnant she said i wasnt good for her.
