It has a slight exhaust leak from the flex pipe the person didn’t want to do it. Also it is direct injected and they naturally run noisy

Brodix heads come with helicoils on the rocker bosses. Its way stronger than the base metal. It looks like what happened here is the helicoils were installed too far down and the holes were bored too deep. When the bolts started to engage with the repair it started to stretch the wire out of the block and up the threaded shank of the bolt.

They should. Ive seen these things hold so tight that the bolt has stretched and snapped off with the threads intact and still seated. You would have to try hard to manage to do this with a normal head torque wrench like 200-350ftlbs try!

I believe it was a 2016 motor came out of a 2015 but u.s model so little differences. But when I replace an engine I always use original harness intake and throttle body unless damaged then will need coding and what not

@@bobtech1013 I bought it salvage. Came to the shop and the oil pan was blown apart. Haha

For the complete job it usually calls for 18-22h for both banks

My theory was no oil pressure and then it is fine. Engine runs great otherwise. I'm concerned but not freaking out "yet"

You man need new tensioners and to install check valves. There is documentation out there on the topic

@@marquisstearn3253 I concur,i did change the oil to 15W50 and the noise is mostly gone but I'm going To Do the tensioner's and check valves as soon as possible I am Taking care of a transmission problem to and changing the spark plugs,engine mounts,airfilters,and replacing possibly a valve body in this car. Already.i am not very happy. , it only has 30K miles.

@@marquisstearn3253 I own a bmw 535D prior to this and it was bullet proof. Think im going back to bmw sooner than later. This shit aint worth it

​@bobtech1013 none return valves are the check valves right? Also do they cam position or plate leak onto wiring or harness ? This is fixed by pulling timing cover and everything correct?

@@scottp6761 the o rings for the camshaft actuators do leak you can replace the o rings for them also make sure the pintle on the solenoid is free and moving in and out easily also the top section of the timing cover can be removed and re siliconed

@@scottp6761 yes the non return valve is a oil check valve the is pressed into the head it sits behind the timing chain tensioner it feeds oil to it

@bobtech1013 one day i will do those chech valves and chain and guides all at once. Until then. Keep driving her

yeah that was a tricky one , but glad it worked out. saved the customer a few thousand for not having to replace an engine that a few other shops have told him he needs.

I would have it diagnosed by a professional don’t take a vehicle such as this to an average shop. But yeah if it’s not going into gear it could be as simple as the turn knob shifter they are common and to failing but have it looked at by someone who knows these vehicles
