Seymour Duncan BMP-1 active preamp with Duncan SH-11 Custom Custom.
The Seymour Duncan Custom Custom, SH-11 with the BMP-1 active preamp. Quick and dirty demo of what the Custom Custom sounds by making it active with the Seymour BMP-1 Blackout style preamp. I haven't been able to find to many examples on what this preamp sounds like with various passive pickups so thought it might be of use to someone, someday.

R9 with Bare Knuckle VHII Bridge pickup. Magnet changed to Alnico II.

Bare Knuckle VHII with Alnico 2. I haven't seen anybody post anything with the Bare Knuckle VHII pickup with a magnet changed from Alnico 5 to Alnico 2. I think it makes the pickup fatter, and fills out the recessed midrange. What do you think?

A play through of Tie Your Mother Down
Просмотров 126 месяцев назад
An impromptu play through of Tie Your Mother Down. You have got to love Brian May. The guy was everything in one package. Great songwriter, great person, inventive and had tone to die for. He was brave enough to approach Rory Gallagher when he was very young and asked Rory how he got his sound. Rory said a Treble Booster and a Vox AC30. And that is what Brian used to this very day. Ahhhhh if on...
Heroes track analysis and deconstruction.

For Bucky. Here is what I was able to get out of the song Heroes. I did my best to decipher all the parts and recorded them. There are a few tracks of the Alomar guitar parts. As pointed out elsewhere Fripp actually used feedback and not an Ebow for his ethereal playing, however I used an Ebow here as I couldn't find anywhere to play loud enough. Allegedly Fripp did his part through a 50 watt H...

A quick comparison of the Acasis TBU-405 vs the WD D50 Thunderbolt dock and the older Wavlink UTE-01. These were all done with WD 850X drives. 2TB version in Acasis and Wavlink. And a 4TB in WD D50 Dock. As you can see there is not too much difference and the older Wavlink makes a good showing against these more modern Chipsets. These were all plugged in to a MacBook Pro 16" M1. Let me know wha...

Ventura Highway

Ventura Highway. Although there is no such thing as a Ventura Highway at least we know where Prince got the term Purple Rain from. The original featured Hal Blain and Joe Osborne. Man those bass lines are difficult. Jo Osborn is a legend.
Helix Version 3.50 vs York Audio and ML Sound Labs Cab comparison.

A somewhat unscientific comparison of a Stock Helix version 3.50 Cab with V30s, and the York Audio FDMN V30s as well as the ML Sound Labs Mofo V30. The question is if 3rd party IRs are necessary now.

A revealing Ringo interview from 1976. Worth a listen.
Elliot is such a leach. His voice grates on me.
Elliot Mintz is insufferable.
Ringo is such a good guy. He is a great spokesperson for the group, very fair, very polite, great memory.
*DING* !! Thank you so very much! Learned so much from this wonderful candid interview from '76. Greetings from Canada. Cheers!
Great interview. So fun to listen to and a ton of good vibes
1:10:46 - So Ringo felt like a session musician on Sgt. Pepper. Interesting.
I think of Lennon would not have been killed they would have eventually gotten together... Really sad that everything turned out the way it did, but still grateful for all the music. These guys were truly a gift to us all. I love Ringo's honesty and sense of humor...... you can see that all the fame and fortune never really went to his head he seems to have stayed grounded similar to George
One of the best Beatle interviews.
Just read Elliot's memoir about talking with Yoko and John on the telephone evey day in the 70s.He was a radio and television interviewer. And Ringo was reading groud breaking sci-fi at this time.
Ringo's math is a little off $10K = $5K each?
When you do the Beatles tour in Liverpool that takes you to the childhood homes of all four of them, it's abundantly clear that Ringo grew up in the poorest working class part, and it's all too easy to picture everything he describes here about being in gangs, with guys putting razor blades under their lapels. Heard an interview with Lemmy Kilmister lately who said that The Stones were just "playing dress-up" pretending to be hard, The Beatles grew up in an actual "hard" city, and were the real deal in comparison.
I'VE ONLY JUST NOTICED, THIS IS 1976. I THOUGHT HE SOUNDED YOUNG AND STRONG-VOICED. FANTASTIC DETAILED RECORD , OF HIS LIFE, AND EARLY EXPERIENCES, MUSICALLY.
I also went home at lunch on the first day of school. Rock on, Ringo.
No wonder they all wanted Ringo in their band and just around them generally....what a star in every sense and meaning of the word and name
In Australia, they call him Dingo.
Feb 9 1964 my 13th birthday. Beatles on Ed Sullivan.
During Ringos heavy chemical phase which lasted another decade after this period. Mintz got close to these folks...interesting life.
Elliot Mintz loves to hear himself talk
The drummer always sees what's really going on.Hello William!
Ringo, the man that helped change rock drumming from standard rock N' roll to artful classic rock drumming. Yes, there were other drummer later, but Ringo was the first to use a tom tom, floor, snare & bass drumming that resembles a drum section in a classical orchestra. Listen to "Day in the Life", Ringo's drumming and the production around the sound of his drumset, made it sound huge, cavernous and deep! He is the first drummer rock star, in every sense of the word...Starr! Long shine the Starr!
I would like to hear Ringo talk about the intelligence and talent of each of the Beatles. It is absolutely incredible that 4 musical geniuses emerge from the same generation in a small English city.
I love Mr. Conductor but I can't stand the sound of his lighting-up and heavy exhaling. Glad I wasn't sitting there in the path of that fetid wind.
Amazing he quit years ago. I hear he lives a healthy lifestyle now. Maybe the reason for his longevity
Ringo reminds me so much of John. In Interviews. Witty, interesting., funny, he’s the closest as John to telling stories. And I could listen to John for hours I also could listen to Ringo for hours thank you.! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
'cept john was a prick.
“I’ll be here till I’m 87” !!!
Ringo will go much further beyond that.
I just found this... I like it!! 👍
Mr Mintz conducts a wonderful interview
This is great Ringo telling his story amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I remember the plastic guitar broaches, about 3” long, each with a stick on picture of one of the Fab Four when I was 5 or 6 in 1963. The only radio program i heard was on a Saturday morning between 9 and 10 am - Junior Choice or something- and they always played a Beatles song about 9.50 after they’d played Burl Ives or Danny Kaye comedy songs, Frankie Howerd, How much is that doggie in the window etc. I had no idea how old some of those records were! My brother had Help! and Rubber Soul I played them constantly in the ‘60’s. I thought of myself as a Beatles fan - but I guess almost everyone was! Nevertheless I have only seen or heard a few programs about them as I’m more interested in the music but this interview was a revelation to me. I can’t say I was bothered about Ringo and his music but after listening to this interview I have completely changed my mind and I can understand why George and the others wanted him in the group.
I can listen to Ringo tell stories for hours. Thanks for posting.
Thanks so much for posting, this is fascinating. ❤
Can you imagine not knowing how to play drums except through a computer, And being looked at as a star? Thats the sad truth about this fake British fool.
Mintz is a ghoul
Paul remembers him playing bass (Elvis) to Mohair Sam by Charlie Rich.
Listen to an English child who only attended school 5-years. He speaks better than most U.S. high-school graduates or college graduates for that matter.
Great candid interview
Really enjoyed this interview. Lots of insights and indepth information on Ringo's childhood and growing up which was obviously tough. Despite his early ill health I love it when Ringo says he's gonna live to 87. Nearly there now, and I hope he's around for many more years to come.
¿Esa camisa no es la misma que llevabas en la versión acústica a 12 cuerdas de 39'? (donde aún tenías el pelo negro) ¿Le has hecho la prueba del carbono 14 a la camisa para ver cuántos años tiene ya? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😜
Why did they not filmed this interview?
It was 1976 - people didn't even have camcorders yet...
His deep voice I love it. I love him so much. Ringo❤❤❤❤
THAT ALL THOSE CIGGIES HE'S SMOKED
TOUCHDOWN!
This interview was made by Elliot mintz Now you know
Mintz hardly spoke in this interview.
The photo with QUEEN SINGER..IS REAL
never heard of him
The way Brian smiles about three seconds into this video looks like he's been transported right back to the Marquee Club again and he's remembering all those great nights watching Rory. 🙂
Great material! I love Ringo suggesting talking about his 'pre-natal experiences'!... But... who's interviewing??
Sounds like Elliott mintz
@@oliverbird6914 Yes, and he does a fantastic job!

The best singer in Van Halen, forever!
2nd song sounds a lot like Give It Away
I'm 21 years old from North Carolina born and raised Luther Perkins and Roy Gallagher and Brian May are my number 1 guitar influences I recently bought a reissue of a Dallas rangemaster treble booster I use it with my own homemade electric guitar me and my grandpa built in his garage using hand tools I've been playing the guitar since I was 5 and I also use my own custom sets of flatwound strings 8/33 I Thomastik flatwounds I customize myself
Sounds great. The Rangemaster is a difficult pedal to find. It really has a unique sound.
@@stickeylashes3416 it does it's my favorite pedal though
@@stickeylashes3416 mine is a reissue that I bought on eBay though it's black
Amazing!! 🎸🎸🎸
Very kind.
mintz the ono myth promoter
Then why bother listening? Imbecile.
I never knew he could do the DLR vocal inflection so well but actually hit the notes and not do 10,000 adlibs. Just proves VH never needed a singer after Sammy. I hope on Best Of All Worlds, they lean on him for a lot of the early stuff.
