The materials and textures created by different games are different. Being like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild does not affect it from becoming the best game of the year.

Just a few hours into B2 and decided to see if anyone else felt that B1 was just a more enjoyable game. Splitting out the abilities into 3 weapons really takes away from the flow of the game, can only dash attack with the dual blades, can only ground strike with the single blade. Just needless restrictions when you (in my case) the day before was free to do any and all at once.

not sure why everyone is arguing. just play both games its not a competition. im sure if u play blasphemous 2 or last faith first you will like the other too. They both look sick. I havent tried either as this 2d metrovania style souls like is new for me but looks fun.

blasphemous 1 had mea culpa which can do all the stuff the three weapons from the 2nd game do, the art style isnt my cup oof tea, the cutscenes are great in II, i hated esepcially the way the penitent one moves, the soundtracks of the first game are beautifully corelated to the area which in they play, just my thoughts

no other game can compete with god of war it has great story character is itself a god so you feel like god enemies are much familiar to anyone like thor jews etc the emotions swag and attitude of character is above par

How about put them together in the same world in God of war 6 ?! They have the different stories but the same destiny!! Wukong cheated and used by China Myth Gods, as well Kratos used and cheated by the Greek Myth Gods..... They all wanna take their revenge to the gods!!

God of war is cross gen whereas Wukong is current gen only.

They're both great, i won't put one over the other.

2:08 i hate those encounters in the second game it stops you from exploring... Too many reused enemies and mechanics also. I think that's some of the major problems here and why it's not as good as the first one.

I just don't find myself with Blasphemous 2 movement system. OG Blasphemous seemed quite mechanically correct in my opinion

Blasphemous 2 has gameplays improvements but definetly Blasphemous 1 is more epic in story and better rewarding in exploring.

Im playing first part on ps5 graphics too low ..cant even read text.i have 4 k tv with hdr ..is there any setting on p5 .

I don't like the weird rope net finishing move from B2. Also I prefer the simple sword from B1 and I don't like the constant weapon changing from B2 to solve puzzles. The shield crush from B1 is always hilarious. The finishers from TLF are brutal and funny and the restoration of FP when performing one is a superb feature.

blasphemous 1 made me feel like I am committing something seriously sinful that I can't return or smthing. It was so scary. 2 Lost all of that seriousness. Stupid anime style shit... Last faith was also very cool.

Original Blasphemous 1 is a pure art with tons of details, dark atmosphere and hardcore bosses. Blasphemous 2 is not

So I would have agreed on B1 being more "better" before I tried to get 100% in that game, and it started comming apart at the seems. Most bosses are either super easy, or made difficult by spamming 1000 projectiles in a game where you have basically 0 movement abilities, the fucking jumping challenges with their ladders can bite my ass, most mea culpa hearts are worse than having none, and everything is behind a hidden wall, and there is no point to relics being equpables. Yes the world and the vibe of the first game is unmatched, but B2 has so many good new system, be it the altar pieces, weapons, movement. Evitermo fight is bettet than most of B1 and while I agree that things like rendered cutscenes instead of drawn and no unique finishers suck I would made that trade any for a game that I actually wouldnt mind playing again unlike the first one.

Blasphemous 2 is awesome but prince of Persia the lost crown is also awesome too but heavily reminds me so much a another Metroidvania game Grimvalor which is a lot like Swordigo

So many different opinions down here lol. In my opinion Blasphemous 2 is improvement in almost every possible direction, and the only important thing missing is NG+ and Boss Rush, hopefully it will be added in update

BP1 indeed. I’ve played it like 20 times. I think developer was trying too much on BP2 to make it different so it lost the iconic of the series. I did not even try to finish the true ending for BP2. Haven’t play LF yet.

Blasphemous 1 is the best. It has the better story, atmosphere, design, and challenge. New Game+, cosmetics, better secrets, more elaborate quests, NPC options, bonus levels, simple but rewarding combat, and less linear exploration.

Bl2 is much more suitable to play to, though. I can have any sort of warm feelings for Bl1 but I will hardly play it again.

I love blasphemous so much after beating Hollow Knight and Grimvalor which are my favorite Metroidvania games

You forgot to talk about maps. Cant understand why The Last Faith is so underrated. Maybe a bit too easy excepted the (true) final boss. But its atmosphere is really good. You get many extra moves compared to BP. Bosses design is cool. I really enjoyed it ❤
