Here is a close physical examination of the Winnfield Fude nib with an overfeed, done on a flexible Jowo #6 nib. IT essentially writes like a brush. In reverse, it writes a needle point. Writing samples to come :) This nib comes in a metal Jowo #6 housing and feed. Works very well out of the box.

Today, I show behind the scenes of how I take pictures of my fountain pens, nibs, etc. I use a Sony Mirrorless camera [in the past I have used an iPhone and Samsung phone, which also work fine]. I just got the Conklin Endura Omniflex. The Tynes stayed split after 10 minutes of testing. 😢 Very disappointed. Will have to wait for the next regalia nib
I'm sorry to hear that. Modern Conklin pens have turned into trash.. My vintage one is about 100 years old and one of my best writers.

Found this review very helpful. I decided to try the Conklin Endura first.
That Endura is one of the best flex nibs ever. I love it. A tiny stub quality to it as well.

How does a Gravitas Vac differ from a much cheaper version, such as Asvine?
Asvine is pretty good. I like the V200. It just does not take Jowo nib unit, I wish it did.
@@Shak-MD I have a Jowo nib in a bock housing and it works in my P36. Probably would also work in v200

IT did take me since last December to finally get it. The other nib I got is a reverse Fude, which is kind of like a needle point. I love it. This is more of a brush.

You do not disappoint Shak!! I could definitely hear the feedback, and that nib looks to be pretty juicy. That's not a nib for me, I can barely keep my writing legible with a normal nib let alone a specialty nib like that.

Interesting! I managed to hunt down a custom Urushi in medium in Australia and at a very competitive price, US$930. GPC sell it for US$1500!
It is an amazing pen/nib. Currently, I have a PCU nib on my CONID bulkfiller king size. What a treat!

This is a nib made by a gentleman in the USA called Monty Winnfield.
Looks like I'm not the only one who thought a Monty Winnfield nib was the perfect fit for the Gratvitas Acrylic Vac. I have an Engineer nib in mine, and the titanium housing really brings the whole pen together
Great minds! I have the reverse Fude stacked nib in Kyuseido Kakari. That is a complete package, because I like EF, and it does 0.2 mm.
Looks like exaggerated version of Naginata-Togi
This is more of a fude brush than NT. Actually not best for daily use.
this is the best pen to mod. the nib is big and have good springyness. what i did to the nib is similar to yours but i didnt modify the feed. i just put an overfeed and it never railroads.so good
Where do I get an overfeed?
@@Shak-MD cut aluminium tin(soda can) into the shape of smallernib, put it on top of your nib. There's one video on RUclips I learn it from. Try googling the word "fountain pen nib overfeed". I'm sure there's tutorial making it. I have great success modifying my JH 9019 and JH 82.

@SHAK-MD I wanted to ask you if you used the Gravitas ultra-flex nib in another pen besides The Gravitas Vac. Do you have any experience with that? I am asking because of my troubles with the nib/nib unit. The problem I am facing is the nib is dripping ink a LOT. I bought the nib/nib unit with Gravitas Polycarbonate Pocket dropper. The pen came with a minuscule converter. It was dripping at the full capacity of the convertor, was fine for a brief moment/ capacity, and dripped again when lower on ink. I tried eye dropping the pen - the nib unit was dripping again. The Vac filler has an extra separate reservoir which I guess might positively improve the nib unit performance. Now I did change the feed for one from Gravitas steel flex nib. It's not an ideal solution as it does not fit well together.
The ultra flex nib from Gravitas fits perfectly over the V200 Asvine. It's one of the most awesome combinations ever!

The polymer feed is the problem. It leaks at times. I put my nib in a v200 over the asvine feed. Works great. I use a regalia Crossflex nib on this pen. Love it.

By sheer fluke and a Dremel drill I have messed up 2 perfectly good 9019 nibs from a pack of five. On the plus side I have also managed to make 2 nibs that simply defy belief. The softest , smoothest, most gorgeous fountain pens I have ever tried. All for approx £6, That said, I am hugely tempted by the Jin blanc game. Please God don't let me get drunk and get out the Dremel in that beauty 😂. Great vid as usual.
That is how it is done :) I am not a professional nib anything :) :D I just MA&FO [Mess-around and find out] Can't say I have not messed up a MB 149 nib, or two :) :) , but I have several that I have customized to the fineness that I like.

Where can I get a Wingsung 630 Steel with heartbeat nib?
I am unsure if they sell that. My heartbeat nib is the 14K gold one, which I do not like, or recommend. Jinhao makes heartbeat nibs, that may actually fit in Wingsung. Worth a try.
Any noticeable difference in the nib performance, HemmingwayJones in his video says it has more feedback.
Compared to the dozen or so of the most recent pens that I have tried [ Including the 90 anniversary, other 100 anniversary 149s, Orient express, gold, and platinum coated medium nibs], the feedback is about the same. I must note that these pens go through human QC, and naturally, there may be some variability in the feedback. but in my hand, I see no notable difference. If I were to chose one pen that it feels most like, it would be the Orient Express 149 from last year. Either way, this is an amazing pen. I love it. Mine are out for nib exchange :) One EF and one for O3B. Hope that helps.
Im debating getting this. Does it smell on the paper after it dries?? Or is it just a whiff here and there while you’re writing? This is very intriguing.
Mostly, the pen picks up the smell. This is the best smelling of all MB inks I have. I really like it. Also, hard to get.

Thanks! You can not, as the Crossflex comes in a Jowo #6 housing. You need asvine/bock 250 housing for this pen.

@alexcross8297 Of course. I like Gravitas Ultim vac and acrylic vac. But you can also use Opus 88 [much cheaper].
TBH, that Gravitas acrylic Vac has better ergonomics than the Kyuseido overall, lighter, cheaper, and takes Jowo #6. Don't fall for PenBBS clone because It doesnt take Jowo 6.

Curious as to whether there are reviews or sites that randomly check the actual gold content in nibs marked 14 kt or 18 kt or even 21kt. Even in jewelry, sometimes things are hallmarked but in reality contain under alloyed gold.
I can probably arrange for that 😀. But I don't know of anyone doing it.

Hi I also bought a V200 with Asvine nib. I really like the writing experience of this pen. Can you kindly recommend some specialty nibs like flex, fude, stub, architect for this pen? i would like to try some specialty nibs.
Congrats! I would recommend trying the Zebra G nib and housing from flexible nib factory for flex. You can also try the Kaigelu nibs, they make a "naginata like" nib on amazon. You can turn the bock nib or the original asvine nib into a stub, or an architect as well. :) I have video on my channel showing how I make an architect out of a Majohn C4 nib. Pilot number 10 and number 15 nibs fit right over the asvine feed. They have great selection of nibs, all of which fit on the V 200. Hope that helped.
