Oh, to be more like Jesus! I have family members who turned against us for no reason whatsoever. We showed them love in every way possible, but they never received it and used it as a way to further accuse us. Everything we did for them was ridiculed as coming from a sense of “we are better than you”. They are all in bi-racial marriages and are very racist and hostile toward their white family members who are Christian conservatives and do not support Liberal policies as they do. This kind of ugly behavior is hard to ignore, and my anger at them has risen up many times when my dear Christian mother was assailed and falsely accused by them. This is a “thorn in the flesh” issue that we can’t seem to overcome. I pray for the strength to do as Peter encouraged us to do and show righteousness, not retaliation. Thanks for another good message.

Wish it was easier to love like Jesus. There are so many hate-filled people in our world that love and kindness has no affect on them; it’s hard to obey this Word sometimes. Praying daily for a greater capacity to love the unlovable.

Here in the US we are beginning to experience the persecution of Christians by our leaders and fellow citizens. Pray we stand the test and are proven faithful till the end. We must keep in mind that “there’s one more exodus coming; God’s gonna take His children Home.” Love these words from a very old gospel song by the Rambos.

Though I am a woman, I have always felt a spiritual kinship to Peter, more than any other person in the Bible. I am a very passionate person that often lets my enthusiasm and my questions cause me to blurt out words that I instantly regret. My favorite quote from Peter was when some of Jesus’ followers turned away from following Him, and when the disciples were asked if they too would go away, Peter declared, “ Lord, where else would we go; You have the words of eternal life.” I love Jesus with all my heart, but at times I disappoint myself with my words. Good lesson.

Thank God for that victory cry from the cross as our Lord and Savior finished His earthly mission and was prepared to return to His rightful throne at The Father’s right hand. We humans leave so many things unfinished, for so many reasons, but the plan of salvation was carried out until completion asJesus laid down his life for fallen man. Thank You, Jesus!

My heart feels as if it will burst when I think of the horrendous suffering of our precious Lord Jesus. He who WAS the living water that gives eternal life cried out for water as he hung dying on the cross. The full extent of His sacrifice for us is beyond human comprehension, I believe. He wanted a refreshing drink of water but was given sour wine instead. So is the way of the world He died to save. Psalm 42:1-2 has always been a favorite prayer of mine. I feel just as the psalmist did as he expresses a burning desire for His blessed Savior that needed to be quenched by being where He was. “come quickly Lord Jesus”.

I taught Sunday School for over 20 years, and I am very familiar with the Word of God. Yet, now in my “golden years” I find myself crying out “why?” more and more. I feel like a little child at times as I pray and pour out my confused thoughts to God, expecting Him to comfort me and tell me everything is going to be ok, as my earthly father did, but I’m often left in dismay as I feel my prayer was not heard and my grief was not remedied. Thank you, Toni, for your gentle way of teaching the scriptures and relating them to our daily lives. I appreciate your program very much now that I am unable to attend church as I once did.

Many of us likely overlook the extreme cost to Mary for being the mother of our Lord Jesus. The shame of her unwed pregnancy, the fact of what the future held for her beloved son, but, especially, having to follow Him to the cross and watch His horrendous suffering as He hung on the cross. My heart could not have possibly endured such a tragic fate for a child of mine. Yet, she was called, “highly favored” by God. What strength she must have had.

Teaching this superstitious nonsense is what makes people revile the word of God. Keep it up. Unfortunately i won't get to see the day when religion is irrelevant but you're helping to hasten it's demise.

I’ve been really overwhelmed this whole year has been very difficult. I didn’t fully understand the gift for the overwhelmed. I know he is with me working in this situation and I’m not doing that well staying close to him, I’ve felt like I’m in a river fast flowing with my face just above the water. It’s like no matter what I try I keep having to let go and just float and breathe.

Submission is another demonstration of our love for God and our trust in his divinely organized plan. ❤
