Chevy silverado 08 to 12 be ready to play with ecu. Junk
Jeez, I know nothing about anything you said. I imagine Fords and Dodge's have all these issues too?
I didn’t have communication so I took mine to dealership and they replaced the bcm and ecm and they weren’t able to program
Low speed fan is coming on but when in traffic downtown, the high speed fan is not coming on. I just replaced the relay and also replaced the resistor what could be causing this problem it is a Ford transit connect 2012. Thank you.
Whoever you’re working for should consider themselves extremely fortunate.
I have 2017 Chevy Silverado the wiring harness caught fire bought new harness checked all fuses no communication with transmission P0 700 code won’t start showing that the car is in drive when it’s really in park I’ve spent all kinds of money trying to figure it out, but no one has a solution was told that I need a new transmission which is going to cost 8000 really need help
Bro I have an ecm but it’s not programmed to my vin, will it still work?
no
Would I have to get my ecm programmed or can I do this at home
I'm having the exact same problem I put in a new PreFlight ECM and now it's throwing a code for the crank sensor I replaced it and still no start same code crank sensor can anyone please help
Same car, same issue, but with a P1305 igniter circuit #2 code as well. Died after startup when warm, bogged down briefly when accelerating, and stalls when running. Cleaned MAF, and got no symptoms for a day or so, then they returned
I have a 08 Silverado Lt extended cab 1500 5.3 drove it about an hour, I had changed the fpm (cause it gave me that code) it was fine got home and it smelled like burn all of a sudden. Replaced the fpm it turned on but then later as soon the rpm went down it turned off. Since then will crank but no start, left it for a day or two tried cranking it. Turned on and bang threw me a code p069e fpcm. Replaced it (obviously got a preprogrammed) oh almost forgot also replaced the fuel pump relay. Nothing no crank no start. Please help friend i really need an advice. Thanks before hand. Hope to hear from you soon take care
My bad i was a bit skeptical bout this video but now that i watched it carefully. I apologize sir 🙏 it's a great video well explained thanks for explaining everything in detail my respect
Replaced a BCM on an 07 Avalanche this weekend. Good news is it starts now bad news is no gauges with the exception of voltage. Will a good bi-directional scanner be able to correct? It's like something isn't communicating.
As long as 5 volt from command wire it’s all good why complicate it
What about the Fuse that had no power ? Often Communication issues are because of Loss of power . Did you troubleshoot that circuit ? What were the results ? I had similar issues with my ‘07 and 5 Corroded open fuses in the Underhood distribution center . As well as numerous other fuse stabs and relay stabs corroded . I had to remove every fuse and relay , Apply corrosion preventative compound (NYK 77) by TrukLite using a q-tip to each socket . 2 Hours later everything worked great and has not recurred .
Thanks man !! Very good vid!!!
Is there anyway a regular Joe can diagnose why the fans aren't activating when the a/c is on?
I ran power directly from the battery to the fan. Used a voltmeter to make sure the fan was getting power. The fan was getting power but still didn’t work with the direct battery connection. I ordered up a complete fan / controller package and replaced the entire unit. Once the new unit was installed (a PITA job but can be done without taking the Power Steering and Coolant Reservoirs out), I connected the “old” controller unit and started the fan by switching on the A/C. The fan worked, so I’m keeping the old controller as a spare, “just in case”. Assuming that you have also checked the fuse/relay to make sure they are good.
What is a piercing probe? What is a back probe?
A bunch of this I don't understand but the video still help me pinpoint my problem. And saved me almost $2000🤑
How’d you fix your problem what was the issue please and Thanks…?
sO, are you saying that iF my power windows aren't working, as well as my interior lights.. then that's an indication that somewhere along the lines, the circuit is broke.. & it's actually One issue that needs to be found & fixed.. & NoT 2 separate issues???
would this same process work to troubleshoot a bad tcm?
Would code U1016 on a 2001 Chevy Express be the same conclusion?
So I have the same code and needles on dash jump around also but my Suzuki xl7 still starts and runs. So could mine still be a bad control module?
you can check the fusebox connection most time is it green colourt so you have to clean it i've a 2012 silverado lt 4.8l
Have a 2008 Escalade no crank no start. checked all fuses they are good. Powered the starter relay, engine cranks & wiring harness looks good.Pulled fuses on all modules with no change. Checked pins 6 &14 and getting 95 ohms seems strange as I would expect 120 or 60 any ideas?
unplugg the BCM and try to crank it....
Great video ! Nice and clear communication with no background music . Thanks for posting,
What brand breakout box is that?
Was the fuel gauge working or reading empty ? My truck will start up no issues when warm , once it’s cold , I get no crank and fuel gauge reads empty , fuel pump doesn’t turn on with key or command start , once I bring it into shop for about 45 mins with heat on ( gas heater ) she will crank over and start , I got codes U0100-00 for fuel control module and brake control module , I also have a code for lost communication with yaw rate sensor , but again once warm no codes except for the yaw rate sensor ? I have cleaned my fuse panel , I replaced my brake switch with a genuine gm brake switch , do you think it is my pcm inside engine bay ? PLEASE any help would be great
Great video, thanks for making it! How many amps would you expect to see from a working motor? About 11 amps? How many for a non-working motor? 0 amps? Thanks again.
Hello Derreck, Where are you located? Might be worth driving far and wide! As I shop for a mechanic, A mechanic over here said it's usually the intake gasket that needs to be replaced. Is this true? He hasn't seen the car yet was just his hunch to start there $$. I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla with 100k miles - runs great. I have a P0171 too lean bank 1. Thank you for any input or suggestion. Maybe I find someone who has and understands the diagnostics you have first?
Thanks bro!!!
I had an ECM replaced in my 2013 GMC sierra 2500hd 6.0l FF truck because I was told that was the issue. Spent over $600 and issues are still there. I have O2 codes and 3 codes that says communication between the ECM, PCM and TCM is erratic. Truck has new plugs, wires, crank sensor, cam sensor, VVT components, MAP sensors, MAF sensor, fuel injectors, intake gasket, knock sensors, coolant temp sensor, throttle position sensor, throttle body has been cleaned and reset. I'm over $2000 invested in this truck and can't figure it out! Truck just stalls out at idle, O2 sensors won't fluctuate while running, and goes into a closed loop before warm up temp. Only time the truck is happy is at wide open throttle and about 30 seconds after you start it. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!
Could be a bad wire or corroded connector. There's a service bulletin (08-07-30-0216) which addresses the codes and symptoms, but there's not any that address the 02 sensor codes. If you had a bunch of stuff apart, check your grounds as well.
What was the voltage on the pink wire?
Interesting. Thanks so much
This is one of the most clear and to the point diagnostic videos I’ve ever watched! Thank you and you’ve earned a subscriber!!!
what was the cost estimate? I think I have the exact same problem...technically, window rolls down but does not go up
I have a 4 door and master switch controls all but driver rear. Passengers do not individually work
It's a shame this is what we have to go through now a days to keep an air pump running... The simplicity of an air pump with a fuel system and ignition has become WAY! over engineered with much to many components...
This guy knows his shit
I'm having the same issue but it's not communicating with transmission trucks going off line and will not start. After a while of unplugging battery the truck runs great. It message on dash 4wd and stabilizer message any ideas
I dont know what theyre paying you, but it aint enough. Folks like you are getting harder and harder to find. Im having this issue with my 14 sierra. My girl is sick and i need a good doctor 😩 😫
Excellent video! My 2006 is doing the same thing 😊
Very nice job documenting and sharing how to chase this type problem down.
I try this thing I see on your video in What happens if it works for all the windows switch but not work with one
Awesome Derek...i think i already knew the switch was the culprit because i changed both the motor and switch on my Monte Carlo a few years back. Now i have to familiarize myself with this Buick Lacrosse i have with the Master power window problem. Already checked the fuses under the hood, the wire between door and interior panel are all intact and now i just have the switch in my hand and tried your trick so im certain its the switch now. (The test light doesnt light up when im holding it to the wires)Appreciate your video! Thanks!
None of my modules will communicate besides the transfer case
09 Yukon won’t let go over 40 mph but this code pop up I done took it to many car shops even the dealership done spent a lot of money already mfs can’t seem find the problem
Thank you Derreck for the excellent video..one question. my A/C does not cool well and I see that one of my two fans on my f150 is not running..is that the reason for the a/c not to cool well? it has refrigerant, compressor is good as well. the car is not overheating even though only one fan works not both. thanks in advnace for your reply.
That's a blown fuse or relay easy to replace
Thanks for the video my 08 GMC Duramax has same issue
2005 police crown vic ---- BRO I NEED HELP! been having overheating issues & replaced everything in the system. NOT overheating anymore but the radiator fan goes to high after only 5 mins of running. stays on high fan until shut off. replaced the radiator, water pump, CT sensor, HT sensor, thermostat (160), fresh coolant after 3 flushes. used a laser temp tool & highest reading on cyl or anywhere, is only 160 degrees. fan will be on HIGH with that LOW temp. CANT FIGURE IT OUT & NEED TO SELL!.
