Akibaranger makes as much sense if you watch it. But its such a blast! its kind of a parody/funny approach to the Super Sentai genre, it started out as an unofficial sentai then became a real one after a crossover in a movie. The three are basically stupid otakus, one dumber than the other, so even if he looks like "he gets all the girls", its kinda far from true lmao.

Yeah, so Sou Yagaruma's thing is that, before this, he was a relatively high ranking ZECT officer, leader of a squad called Shadow. As the leader, he had access to a Zecter called TheBee(the yellow Rider is the next TheBee after Yagaruma. His name is Shun Kageyama). Back then, he was very prim, proper and put together(note those last two words. There's your "perfect harmony" lol). What you see in this clip is a guy who pretty much gave up on life after things happened to him and would rather take whoever he can to his idea of "hell". Spoiler: Kageyama becomes PunchHopper. As is indicated by the name, he fights with only punches to the point his Rider finish is a punch.

Yeah blame auto translate for making that a bit weird, though granted Akibaranger is a massive trip given that it was a spoof Sentai poking fun with franchise’s history. If you’re ever able to react to full episodes of Ultraman again, I’ll probably still recommend finishing Z for a more recent Ultra while recommending Ultraman Mebius as a pretty good Heisei era Ultra that revisits the Showa era alongside Nexus which is one of the more interesting dark Ultra series.
