Exmoor Gala 2024 | Barnards Miniature Railway
Over the weekend of the 20th and 21st of July 2024, we held our first Exmoor Gala. The 'exmoor' is a class of locomotive design built by Exmoor Locomotive works at Bratton Fleming, Devon.
Several exmoors were built in different scales, with four of the 7 1/4 variety ending up at Barnards. Over this weekend they were publicly steamed together for the first time. On The Saturday they ran to Sitooterie and our Class 35 Hymek 'Uncle John' pulled them up the steep Angel Green bank (to ensure our Exmoors are not overworked), with them taking it back to Burtonshaw after. On the Sunday, all steam ran to Sitooterie only and the hymek offered a shuttle Burtonshaw - Angel Green service.

Santa Specials 2023 - Day 1 | Barnards Miniature Railway

Every year we host our Santa Specials. Passengers can enjoy being greeted by the controller in our barn, served with tea and cakes, before being escorted to their steam hauled service. Charity Open Day 2023 | Barnards Miniature Railway

Barnards Miniature Railway was open in July 2023 along with the gardens being fully open to the public. The Barnards Farm cars, motorbikes, bicycles and even cycle shop was also open to the public. who owns these locos and are the engineers voluntary or employed by barnards?
Harrison Long most are owned by the railway but some are owned by volunteers or private owners who want a place to keep their loco

Matt Seymour it is narrow gauge, so it will look bigger than the actual gauge it. It is 7 1/4.
@@LittlewoodJunction Yes that's very true. But what I mean is some locos look bigger than others in the same gauge.
How much is it for a engine like this ?
Josh Edwards engines vary in price depending on what you get. If you gesture someone else to build it it will cost a lot more than doing it yourself. Engines that are steamers can be as little as £5000 to £40,000 for the bigger heavy haulers.
