Ok im so confused because i watched the movie and it showed that gwen lied to her boy friend and that her mother told her boyfriend i am a trans woman and im 43 years old one thing i couldnt do was lie or trick guys about my gender griwing up i saw lots of my friends who were trans woman lie and they got killed niw im not saying anybody diserves to die at no point. I watched all the videos on the gwens story and its so sad rip gwen love you

I wish that I could have the opportunity to meet this amazing mother. I am also transgender and I was assaulted recently. I was living in a motel in the night shift employee tried to burn me up in the room poor gasoline on my door it was a big mess the police would not do anything they did not even arrest him now he has five counts of hate crimes but that was only because an attorney friend of mine called the DA in the city where I'm at. I'm still struggling trying to find an attorney no one will help me. I would like to just tell her thank you for being an advocate and being supportive

Well I watched the Lifetime movie about Gwen & I remember thinking these bastards who murdered her, were threatened by their own masculinity or lack thereof. I just saw the movie and was so incredibly touched by this story. My heart is breaking into a million pieces. I will forever have Sylvia and Gwen in my prayers. What they both went and go through is unimaginable. Sylvia I know you did the best you could for Gwen, you are a loving mother. It's so unfortunate that it had to end this way. May Gwen rest in peace. She will always be in my heart!

This reminds me of the Brandon Teena story. Brandon was a trans man he dated girls throughout the early 90s. He grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska where people weren’t keen of trans people. His girlfriends later found out he was born female at birth. He later moved to Humboldt, Nebraska where it was even worse. He used to visit a town called Falls City, he made friends with ex convicts called John Lotter and Tom Nissen. He met a beautiful strawberry blonde haired girl called Lana Tisdel, they both started dating in early December 1993. Before Brandon moved to Humboldt he was commonly known to forge checks to get gifts for his girlfriends. So he missed his court date and so his birth name was put in the local newspaper and John and Tom saw and got suspicious about it. Brandon handed himself in on 15th December 1993 because he felt guilty. Lana found out ask her dad for money so she “could get a perm” but she needed the money so she could bail Brandon out. So she got the check off her dad and wrote out $250 and got Tom to bail Brandon out because she was 18 and Tom was 21. After he was bailed out he went to a house Christmas Eve party at Tom’s house with Lana. Tom and John grabbed Brandon took him to the bathroom punched him and kicked him a few times and stripped him to reveal his genitals and forced Lana to look. Later they took Brandon after when Lana’s mother need Lana to go home for something and John and Tom beat Brandon up and raped him in a remote location. Then went to back to Toms and they both forced Brandon to get a shower to get rid of evidence. Brandon jumped out of the window and ran to Lana’s house. He had a raped kit done but was later “lost” by authorities. He reported the rape but the sheriff was getting off on it throughout the rape interview. John and Tom found out that Brandon went to the police and ended up murdering Brandon, Lisa Lambert and Philip Devine and spared Lisa’s toddler son. The homicide happened on New Year’s Eve.

The whole murder was a set up because dude felt some type of way of gwen being a guy when in reality he knew he had a girlfriend cheated on her in front of her with gwen. It's a sad case of fatal attraction. She wasnt honest but thats not ok to be set up and murdered that guy knows more than what he showed in that movie he isnt even speaking out so concerned of being portrayed gay. If your not your not. The fuck he obviously is insecure becaus maybe deep down he is gay and he knew gwen was a guy but when it was put out in the open he got embarrassed. And called that girl to set her up.in the movie the mom says gwen only went to that party because of you talking to the guy she was dating he didn't wanna talk he knew what happened already he played it off. And that girl most likely went in hiding. She set all that up with help from the damn guy. The murderers got caught and the people who set it up need to do time too Instead of just live life normally and gwen didnt get the right to live.

According to the movie and the mom's interview that is totally different how she accepted her son / daughter and by her recapping how she was really beating her face had to be reconstructed nobody move me change no tear she's just cold I really can't understand her interview

Whatever happened to the movie about her? I can't find it anywhere. This is such a tragic story. It's absolutely heartbreaking knowing what Happened to her. The fear she must have felt. My heart goes out to her family and friends and all those that were sincerely close to her. 💔💔😭😭

Sylvia taught & encouraged Eddie to act like a girl. Sylvia is in denial or too uneducated/stupid to ACCEPT that she helped Eddie become a trans which lead to his death. I listened to Sylvia in another doc & she said "Painting our toenails together was just a normal thing..." (Eddie was approx 11-12 yrs). Swy, mommy dearest but an 11-12 yr old BOY painting his toenails is NOT "just a normal thing"!

I think she didn't get the same treatment as Teenna Brandon. This was not only premeditated murder, that so called friend set her up. And they don't call it a hate crime. Don't know how much truth this story goes but I think it should have reached the A List theaters. This is a story that needs more critical avenue for people just trying to be them. It's going on 17 years since this senseless murder took place !! We still are dealing with these kinds of hate crimes !! Gwen was a beautiful, young, and brave transgendered woman, who by all that is good should be here with us today!! Living her best life !! That didn't happen , because these cruel, ignorant, hate filled , young guys that knew exactly what was up, took advantage of her, raped her, then savagely killed her!!! They took Her breathing, beautiful body away from people that loved her so very much, but they did not take Her spirit from us !! She lives on through every one that knew Her, and through those that only knew Her by seeing and hearing Her story , then and now !! We must never let the ignorance, and hate win !! Never !! I have lived my 68 years of life as a trans Woman, and have struggled with hate and intolerance most of my life . Did it stop me from my truth? NO !! I would really like to meet Her Mother, this is a good, and loving Mother . My heart breaks listening to Her tell Her daughter, Gwen's story. A story, She should never have had to tell. If someone lied to you about having hiv and you contradicted aids. How would you fee ?

It’s important to stop violence. But Gwen was killed, when the boys he had sex with thought she was biologically a female. Gwen should have been honest at all times before having sex with a guy. These men had sex with her, Gwen would lie and say she was on her period so they had anal sex. It’s no excuse to murder a person but she was no angel either. It’s not fair to not give a guy the choice to sleep with you or not!! This is why she lost her life. Why aren’t people mentioning these. You think it’s not important but it is important to be honest. By letting the guy know before any sexual intimacy about being transgendered, you decrease the risk of violence.

I feel bad for Gwen. Just because she was transgender doesn't mean she should of died. Transgender people have rights just like everyone else and should be treated with respect and not be discriminated for who they are. I have friends who are transgender and I treat them like family.

This interviewer was so inconsiderate of Ms. Guerrero’s feelings & answers to his questions. I feel he just wanted all of HIS questions answered, kept interrupting, responded with “uh huh” “mmmhm” & “yea”. Not to mention it looks like he hit the pipe a few times before this time interview.
