The yellow green I use is a custom color mix. If you want to paint a running saw, I would recommend using a spray can with special automotive paint. It’s a two-part urethane that hardens and resist gasoline. This paint is dangerous, it contains isocyanates that give some people irreversible asthma upon exposure to the aerosols. You should have a automotive paint supplier in your area that sells SprayMax 2K Spray cans. They will be able to mix any color that you want. They mixed a custom color based on an old faded saw part for me. It’s impossible to match the factory color as they mixed paints at the factory daily and seemed to have different shades of yellow green throughout the two or three years they use this color. Mike

Hey sir. I have a poulan 361 bow saw that was my dads. He gave it to me maybe 10 years ago because that was the saw he used when we used to cut firewood when I was a kid. He passed away last September. I would love to get it running and and use it with my kids. He said he had a guy look at it to get it running and the guy told him the motor was blown and he couldn’t get parts but in the same sentence he tried to buy it from my dad. He said he thought he may have been lying. So all that to say any advice on getting started on going through it? Place to get parts or things to look for first? Would love to pick your brain.

I now own this same saw in the video, the clutch went out chain won’t turn when you rev the saw, any ideas?

I’ve restored a few old homelite in the feeling after you rebuilt the whole thing and it starts for the first time is unexplainable

What model of Poulan saw was the same as this Dayton? I worked at a NAPA auto parts store back in the 70's and we sold quite a few of this Dayton model.

So, is there anything I'd have to look out for if I wanna convert my 306 to a 245? Or are the parts quite literally Identical, aside from the obvious handle and fuel tank/filter cover

Hello mr poulan, so, i had a question, when you took the cylinder off of the chainsaw, it looks like you put the same cylinder back on it just with a different piston, and this is we're my question comes into play. Did you hone out the cylinder and put it back on, or, did you get another one and just painted it, and if you did honed it, can you do a video on honing or can you tell how too cuz I am rebuilding one right now. Hello, I noticed on some of the saws in your videos it appears you repainted the black top of the 245 and I'm wondering what paint you used?

do you think you might have the crank piston and bearings for a 306a and the shaft? my craftsman badged 306a locked up on me and i have it apart and all i need are those parts. if you got any trash 306 saws that got good parts like those and maybe an air filter let me know id love to buy them off of you. if you also have 245a fule tank tops or the breather top and the top handle for a 245a id also buy those. im trying to make this saw into a TCM chainsaw. i have the whole outfit for it just missing the saw and finally got close with the 306
